Can someone explain it to me like I was realy :dunce: how to make the rear slide on 1st corner entry without using the handbrake ...
I´m at 2.15,541 2nd in my region, but I had to use the handbrake on the 1st corner, I need some other technique that gives more consistency.

That's what I was doing until I figured out how to make the rear go around. Don't really know how to explain it though:lol:. After a while of trying, I finally got it and can do it somewhat consistently now.

Just trail-brake. Watch the top replays and look at their braking inputs into T1. Generally coming off the brake gradually whilst turning in.

Two things here, 1st: After taking @R0T0RAU86 advice on the bus stop, I just gained .484 coming out of there alone!!! I was pretty much even with my ghost up until that point and doing what you suggested, I gained that amount of time in the bus stop alone. So thank you very much @R0T0RAU86 , your advice on that section has saved my ass. Thank you so much.

What was this advice that @R0T0RAU86 gave that knocked off that much? I looked through his posts and couldn't find it. Thanks.

Does anyone know (for sure, not speculation or best guess) if the car will be made available in the dealership like the Senna content is for those of us who just can't get near gold?

That's because he pm'd it to me. :sly: Since it was a pm from him, I'll let him tell you his dirty little secrets if he wants.

No idea as nothing has been officially announced yet on the subject. I kind of doubt it so my best advice to you would be to keep trying for that Gold. Its a much better feeling when you have to actually challenge yourself and win something anyway, in my opinion.

@Jbaffoh The very thing you describe here seemingly happened to me today during my sessions. In the beginning, I was able to keep up with my ghost and even make substantial improvements in certain sectors. Then after one of my breaks, I came back and couldn't even come close to keeping up with my ghost. It was as if my car suddenly lost power or something, it was pretty weird to say the least. That very thing is the source of my recent frustration here. I was like, "what the 🤬 is wrong with my car." All settings have remained the same, ABS1, so nothing has changed there. I really don't know whats going on but it was enough to make me rage quit. :banghead:

It may seem obvious but are you sure your brakes aren't dragging, Mitch? I've been having that trouble occasionally recently. The car seemed to be lacking in power and when I looked at the brake indicator it was just flashing a tiny bit. I really need to clean the pot but the thought of stripping down the rig doesn't appeal.

Yea, that was the first thing I looked at. I did have that problem about 6 or 8 months ago, but I did a proper cleaning and such and everything has been fine since. So, no, that's not the issue in this case.

EDIT: After a short 220 mile session, (1148 miles total now) I've managed to improve a bit more to 2'16.892...74th regionally. Still on the outside looking in, but making progress. My hands are beat to hell with blisters and sting like mad when griping the wheel, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Taking a break now till later this evening. Stay fast everyone. Peace.

I had a 2:20.5 but screwed up on the 3rd to last corner. So I quit

You folks are still going at it huh.
True commitment right there. Good to see GTPlanet actually function like a proper community instead of the usual "I'm right you're wrong" bicker that plagues the many sub-forums of the site.
I really hope all this hard work pays off for you all. 👍
To those trying to get gold, the only advice I have is to keep going at it. The best line is the line that caters to YOUR driving style. I was in your position at one point, thinking gold was out of my reach, but the folks who motivated me to keep trying are the ones I have to thank for motivating me to push for the gold. So with that I say Thanks. :)

Brake straight but just below 100%. As you downshift, take off even more brake and start turn in early. Keep a little brake on as the car rotates until you approach the apex. 1st gear is useful if it's not turning enough but you'll want a quick pop back to 2nd. The moment you can do so, off the brake and add throttle. Half is where I'd start but if you're confident, you could push it close to full.

You can either induce a little oversteer or a lot. The important thing is keeping the motor from bogging down. In other words, be like Jeremy Clarkson and yell "Power!" coming off the apex.

2.20.313 so far with ds3 (abs 1 tc 0)
But yeah this ! real tough. Hardest challenge ever in the academy imho. Do love Spa ofcourse :)
Keep it up guys! You'll get the gold eventually 👍

Edit: just saw the " no blue lines tip" thanks alot !

Quit is not in our vocabulary here at GTPlanet. After a break, get back on that horse and show it who's boss...you can do it, I know you can. 👍

I know that I can do it, just that I got a bit angry and quit for now, Might do it again in a bit. I know I can do it, since I managed to get gold, If I knew I was going to be coming in just a bit fast I could of slowed down and still got it. :banghead:

Got gold (2:19.935) and then started working on individual sectors as I am having trouble putting together and entire "fast lap." Got sector 1 down to the point of being just over a tenth off of @K1utch, @Adventuruss (DL'd his ghost when he was atop the US board with a 2:15.5xx) and others on my friends list but really struggling in the second sector with getting the brake point for Pouhon correct and keeping the car on line in the third sector for the final chicane. Spent about a half hour or so today, will be trying to devote a solid hour to it tomorrow and try to dial in the next two sectors. You guys at the top pick these times up damn quick!

I just screwed a 2:15.1 and had to settle for a 2:15.7 on that lap, so annoyed. Now the replay I have uploaded is embarrassing lol.

I have worked out that throttle steering works well in this event, its hard but once you get used to it you fly round.

I've done about 300 miles in total now so I'm giving it a rest till the end and I'll have one more long stint

yeeeeesssss 20.9xx, that will do. Can/could go quicker. But im no way going to trouble the top guys, i got what i wanted to do and get below the gold time. And got the car.

I found it easiest just to shift down into 2nd gear really fast then as you're about to turn in shift down to 1st gear and it should turn you in nicely . Shift back to 2nd as quickly as possible though to get good traction out of the corner.

I'm really becoming frustrated. I know where I'm losing time, but not how to regain it.

Goodbye, GT Academy 2014. See you in a few hours/days/weeks/never.

Next up: GT Rally Academy.. :embarrassed: all of my want, just take my time! *spends 30 hours a day practicing*

Seriously. I want a GT Academy rally event now... So badly.

Wait until Nissan decides to enter WRC, then we may just get it.
