Silly Easterner, I thought you were in Ontario  sorry.

But, yeah, sounds fun. Tip: road courses are more fun than ovals, rally more fun than road courses. ;) IMO at least.

"He who is last is he who is sideways and smiling."

There's not much choice over here. Mostly ovals (half of them for horses) and not really any rallying going on that I know of.

Hey guys dnt forget about meeeee.Work has plagued me yet again. Nooooo. I shall return. I will be un the top 5 I will rise to challenge doodle. Scrub and the other US beasts. But not yet still have work lol. Wait for me guysss !!!!
Weren't you at the top for a while? I'm sure you'll be fine. 👍

Hello all, first post here, just signed up after snooping around on here from time to time.

First, I want to say congrats to all who will finish in the top 28 and good luck at the finals.

Second, I will have to let my 2:17.442 stand as my final attempt as I will be heading out for a couple weeks of military training. Been trying GT Academy for a few years now, and this is my first year with a G27 so I'm content to be a few seconds off after a few hours of work. Loved the challenges this year and I've learned a lot reading these posts so thank you to all who run this community.

After redding a 2:20.5 I golded with a 2:20.953
So I am good. Another car.

I am curious as to what wheel the top guys are running and also as to what FFB setting you are running? @Doodle, @VindictiveScrub, @outlaw4rc, @Adventuruss and company - I'd love to get some answers.....

As for the academy - I am really hoping that I can figure out what my issues are, knocked .8 off my best, which is still a dismal 19.197 (over 4 seconds off the pace). Did that on my first lap and just keep getting slower and slower. First sector is ok, can be between .1-.4 slower than @Doodle but lose out massive amounts of time in the second sector and just maintain the gap in the third..

Again, I'd like to get a little survey/input as to the wheel and FFB setting you guys are using please.

Thanks,

Don

I am wondering if a lot of the other guys are using it too. This T500 at times feels like a hindrance more than an aid.

I use FFB 10 and a G27 as well, but my G27 is in rough shape these days so I honestly can't say how much the wheel itself is helping over other types of wheels. As far as the T500RS goes, in my experience using it, which is little, I was maybe 1-3 tenths slower, but the feel is drastically different to the G27, so that could just fall into adaptation. I know one of the finalists last year used a T500RS for awhile, never liked it and eventually switched back to the DFGT and picked a couple tenths back up as well as some consistency.

I only have experience with the DFP, G27 and T500RS, and at least when it was new my favorite is easily the G27, but I don't know if the issues I have with it these days are from wear or I'm just now becoming more aware if its flaws.

I have a T500RS and I use 5 FFB. Personally I think it's too stiff, but I don't like it any lower. Plus I'm too lazy to mess around with settings that much

I have some improvement like half sec by now (2:20.268), still struggling to break through 2:19

i found aliens are all over the world, 2:14.xxx ? no way for me, not even close!!!!!!!!!!

I got a small improvement down to a 2'16.648, only one more second to go. :dunce:

About force feedback I'm on the standard PS3 settings on my GT3RS.

I want to share a concern for owners of older G27s, they slowly wear out and become progressively more loose. It wasn't until I recently replaced mine that I realized how inaccurate it had become. I know new wheels ain't cheap, but if GTA means enough to you, it might be worth it to invest in a new G27.

still struggling a bit to get gold not having a wheel. Just ran a 2:21.030. . .things were thrown haha

EDIT: finally got gold with a 2:20.587

Well I "slowed down" my inputs in a few bits and managed a 2:18.370 which is my largest improvement so far. I'll keep at it to try to break into the 17s / 16s during the week and with some coaching this weekend I hope to break into the elusive 15s! Stay positive!!

Pretty tricky car, not easy to find it's limit, also a very weird LSD.
looking forward to get into top ten and show the Chiliean power to the GTAcademy organizers
