I don't blame you at all for walking out. Couldn't you get a nice C7 Stingray for $60k? I mean some of us need back seats, but is a Shelby GT350 worth two Ecostangs?

I'd say it's pretty good value. The 350 has every component given a major overhaul compared to the Ecostang.

Compared the Corvette I think it's still a valid buy. A base model C7 is a nice car, but from an engineering standpoint I'd consider the GT350 to be higher caliber, even if the Corvette gets a performance boost from its sports car layout.

Besides, a C6 Z06 with a cam would probably wipe the floor with the C7.

And then the C7 goes into limp mode.

Most things limp when they are smacked around.

Ugh. I should just get a C6Z. It's pretty much perfect really. I wish somebody made complete interior re-imaginations for those cars. It's ugly and poor quality. The C7 has at least made strides to remedy the latter.

I am a designer with a lot of fabrication experience. I also know micro-controllers pretty well...maybe I could be the "Singer 911" of C6 Corvettes....Nah, I'm too lazy.

Can't change the layout, but Caravaggio can re-do the interior.

And there's Carlex Design which goes a step beyond; any material/color/design you want.

Gotta bust out a fat checkbook, though.

Those are improvements, but I would like to see somebody just rip out everything and start from scratch. Keep the essential geometries but design something from the ground up. You can polish a...(you know where this goes). Mclaren, lets both get cammed C6Zs and lope around big D.

That would be interesting & something to see, but I imagine it would cost more than the car in the end to design & implement back into the car. I don't know if those horrific re-bodies even attempt it.

But, as imperfect as it is (esp. next to the C7 which I think is terrific for a Corvette), I guess it does the job just enough for me. Having one with a 3LZ option would be nice, but most of those are 2-tone instead of black/black. So, as long as it's '08+ & 2LZ, I'm happy since I'm buying it for the performance.

Wow....it looks amazing in black. I really want to see this against an M4....
The GT350 would probably be a couple of seconds faster. Its going to be a great comparison. They won't be able to beat interior amenities, but performance is there to kick some German ass!!!

Shelby GT350R sounds from "ThatDudeinBlue".

I want to hear this car with an off road H pipe. I think this car comes with a standard X, just need to remove the cats.

2015 Super Snake. Over 750 Horsepower, Borla exhaust, short throw shifter, carbon fiber everywhere, 3.73 gearing, 6 piston front Wilwood brakes. Cost is $82,000...the price of a base GT with $50k tacked on.

Good lord almighty that hood scoop is incredible. I also really like the design for rims, it just seems right for the car it suits. I'd say it's worth the extra $50K over the GT's pricetag, really. What a monster of a Mustang... Now I want to see that tackle a track, any road course in America will do. And then we have to hear that engine noise, just to hear that supercharger whine.

I'm pretty sure the motor in that car is just a standard Coyote 5.0 with a Whipple slapped on and the boost cranked up too.

Er, care to explain what the "Whipple" bit stands for? Is that the supercharger? And well, cranking up the horsepower is a speciality of Shelby...

So, will this finally be the first Mustang ever to do 200mph from factory? Last Super snake was supposed to be able to do that but fell short..

I'm pretty sure the 1,200hp 1000 S/C was more than capable of that several years ago.

Whipple is a supercharger manufacturer.

A regular GT plus 50k or alternatively a bog standard GT in Europe.

Anyway, it's almost scary to see how much you can get out of the 5.0, that's nearing 400 hp extra to what the output was in 2011.

I never even knew that one existed.. But then again, with that rear axle, I probably ignored it..

I'm with Leo on this one, I don't remember that version of the Shelby. And then again, since it had a live rear axle, I bet it was a hairy drive to say the least... I'd rather have less horsepower with a more stable setting in this case. But I'm sure Shelby will think of such a high-power setup one day.

Whipple is a supercharger manufacturer.

Ah, I see, thanks. 👍

1,185hp

Wait, you're saying that this Super Snake is powered by a supercharged Coyote 5.0?!
I mean, I didn't think the Coyote was capable of that much power, even with a supercharger.

Well, here you go. This is the Shelby 1000 S/C, though yeah; it is crazy and unstable as it's not meant to be a track based car or anything. It was just meant to be a street legal power house for the most part.

Yes. That's exactly what I am saying. This car is not powered by the old 5.8 last years model was, that's a Coyote 5.0 since you're starting with a base GT.

I have seen over 1,000hp out of a Coyote 5.0.

I guess that a smaller engine doesn't mean you cannot crank it up to a 1,000hp, then. If people are already pulling those number out of the Coyote 5.0, I can only shudder about the moment bigger tuning manufacturers get their hands on it... :scared:

People can get well over 2,000hp out of a Coyote 5.0. Don't believe me?
