I believe ya, don't worry. Especially with those examples on display, good lord. Big power is possible with the Coyote 5.0, and you can get REALLY BIG power from it. But as Legro said, factory warranty (and insurance companies) will be kinder to cars with toned-down tuned engines...

That SS looks like a sleeper. Subdued, if imagined, seen in the mirror. Its a tasteful customisation.

So, will this finally be the first Mustang ever to do 200mph from factory? Last Super snake was supposed to be able to do that but fell short..
No idea, but maybe it'll handle better than the last Super Snake now it has IRS.
Uh, are we forgetting about this?

I kind of sped through these new posts but 750 out of a stock motor? I didn't see anyone say it had forged pistons or anything.

Granted my Coyote was the first iteration of its kind in 2011 but I heard 600 was about its limit before having to build up the motor.

Then again after I got out of my Mustang I stopped following it and have no idea of the improvements they may have done to the Coyote.

Mine was dynoed once with 512whp so I assume it had about 560hp at the motor? I was worried to push it further. It had a 2.6L liquid cooled Kennel Bell on an ultra conservative tune. If I had known I could crank it up I would have!

I think it hit 196mph.

Ford hit 202mph with the 2013 GT500 at the 7.8 mile Nardo ring in Italy.

Motortrend could only manage 196mph at the smaller Chrysler 5 mile proving grounds in Arizona.

Motortrend did say that with more ideal temperature and elevation 200mph is surely attainable.

The GT500 can do 200MPH in the same way a Veyron can do 250MPH. Both are condition dependent just like every peak performance number, but we take the best measurement achieved. If the Veyron had a top speed attempt in the heat of Arizona, it wouldn't be able to attain its top speed.

We do have cooler temperatures for part of the year you know. :P

I've seen a few new Mustangs but only now did I have the chance to photo one. Hardly DYSAGT because good is a relative term.

Aren't those wheels small?

The sticker on that back right panel said You Just Got Passed By A Girl

That is in fact a previous generation Mustang. But yes, it's so enormous that the wheels look quite tiny.

I never even knew that one existed.. But then again, with that rear axle, I probably ignored it..
Then you missed the hilarious photoshops Shelby posted of it.

It's a cool car, but it's like everything else Shelby. Grossly overpriced because of the name. The "base" car that comes with just 650Hp uses:
Ford Performance supercharger created by Roush ($6,895.00)
Ford Performance Exhaust ($1,500 max)
Ford Half Shafts ($1,895)
Ford Handling Pack ($1,500)
Ford Short Throw Shifter ($300)
Wilwood 6-piston BBK ($2,245)
Weld Wheels (Around $5-6,000 set)
3.73 Gears ($200 going by what every other retailer says them for)

That's $20.5K right there. I'll even assume all carbon fiber exterior bits run $10,000 totaling somewhere around $30K. But, the Shelby Cooling Pack, engine cap set, numbered engine plate, dash plaque, & carbon gauge pod coupled with all the Super Snake stripes & logos equaling out the remaining $20,000? Don't see it. To get the 750Hp, you have to actually spend $55,000. That's an $5,000 for 100 more ponies, more cooling, rear Wilwoods, & 1-piece driveshaft. Which is actually not too bad for 5 Grand if you weren't already spending the initial $50,000 on mostly cosmetic items.

Bottom line: The cost of a Super Snake kit is the equivalent to that of a 2015 GT500 & comes with only 100 more horsepower. You can get that alongside every GT500 option available ($66K or so) & still have around $15,000 in pocket change for the $86,000 the SS will end up running.

You mean 2016 GT350 right? Or 2014 GT500? Or did I miss something?

I drove a stock GT500 one time (first gen, 500hp) and it didn't feel very fast to me. A stock C5 Z06 was a much sharper feeling car, even in terms of acceleration.

I think he meant the 2015 model year of the current GT500?

Typo. 2014.

Yup grossly overpriced. All because of branding. The GT350 is a bargain compared to that price gouging. Then again its not being sold from Shelby American...

I can't wait for these to pop up all over my town. I mean, if I see close to one gt500 a day, a Super Snake a week would be logical, right?

Are these prices including fitment? Cha-ching cha-ching!

There is a stock motor, stock transmission (auto) 5.0 that has some suspension mods and a Hellion TT kit running 8.6@156mph.
Car is hauling ass, I think the owner is trying to see just how far it can go on stock internals.
