I have my d-pad up button set to turn the ghost off.

And I gotta say, if PD really is working on new sounds for GT7, I really hope they put some effort into changing the tire sounds as well. The constant screeching in the corners is not only annoying but nowhere near realistic.

2:07.532 / World Ranking 742nd ... Will see what happens in the days to come. The player in 1st position (migueel659444) 2:05.126 has amazing breaking in turn 6, and perfect turn 7.

I only gave this one 20-30 minutes or so earlier on, and severely struggled with the car. I had no clue about the engine braking trick, and was struggling to keep consistent. I logged a best of 2:08.898, and seek to drastically improve on that. Just reading through the thread was a great help, hopefully I will progress further with this interesting setup.

Can anyone confirm for me that this ridiculous understeer isn't showroom stock?

the GTR NISMO has understeer worse than any other R35 since its been introduced in game. thats why I was kind of disappointed as I waited forever for it to show up then it handles badly. not sure if its more exaggerated in this GT Academy but its not new ive noticed it in this car from day 1 in the game

I think it's more exaggerated in GT Academy, i usually use this car with Sport hards, and i don't remember it being that bad. It almost feels like it has SM at the front and SS at the back.

Next time i play, i will try it outside GTA.

yeah maybe so I remember doing a lot of the leguna seca and willow springs in it after the motortrend times came out and yeah I noticed it understeered badly but what we are seeing at silverstone is crazy. I find if I go off line by a little it just washes out and I can tip toe around the one double apex and the outside tire is still screaming.

and everyone on here dont lie. you know you had to restart it like me a couple times as it would understeer right at the start and invalidate the lap before you even got to the start lol

it's the same sound repeated too xD

I had to restart it(much more than a couple of times) just for that opening lap! Trying to make the last corner at full throttle...it's hard to find that perfect turning point, and if you go 0.1m off the line, you are done. I guess i am going to stay with my 2:07.4, and wait for the next round...

2:06,595 with the DS3 👍
I know it will be difficult to get a better lap, but at least I'll try to find 1 or 2 more tenths, just to pass some other DS3 users above me ;)

EDIT: 2:06,301

Why why why???!!!! No Canada :nervous::nervous::nervous:.
Working my way up the leaderboard. Just managed a 2:05.784. Top Canadian for now at 40th. To bad it's all for nothing. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Four hour session completed.

For the car, it feels like I'm turning something like this:

5853_11070641330.jpg

Exact same problems I had back in 2013, cannot figure out how to rocket out of Copse and I get zero rotation through Maggots/Beckets/Chapel. As it stands, I'm at a 2:06.423 with at least half a second to gain. Frankly, I won't do that many more attempts because this GT-R doesn't fit me at all. I'm a driver, not a barge captain.

Once you figure it out its pretty fun. Keep at it. I thought the same thing too.

If someone gave me last year's RJN GT-R, it would be fun. I can just throttle oversteer my way out of corners.

I want to slash the tires on this GT-R. Maybe it will actually turn better.

I've only started using my wheel this year and so far I'm kind of happy with my result, 2:08.502 but for now I'll give it a rest and try again later. I'm getting too irritated at my PS3's lack of ability to load silverstone since the Nurburgring loads smoother...

I'm going to have to have another crack at it, 2:07.2 ain't enough I guess (well duh :P).

I'm in the process of dusting off my 200deg Driving force wheel and I noticed in your sig that you've got 1 too and was wondering what sort of ffb/sensitivity settings you're using or can recommend?

PS-To keep it on topic, I was on 2.07.6 after a quick spin in the morning and then had another go later, forgetting to reset the traction, putting in a 2.07.1 with it on.
Definitely makes it easier to put the power down via the 'x' button. 👍

FINALLY somebody has the same wheel as me! :D

FFB Torque: 5
FFB Sensitivity: 6

Can't handle an FGT or RB for 🤬 but for anything else it's great! Although, my adapter popped about a week ago so I currently have very light steering. :grumpy:

First attempt got me 1583rd on the board with a 2:08.243. Not bad considering I haven't done any serious gaming with a wheel in many months. I know I can go faster, but it's a matter of not screwing up due to the understeer.

Haha, I gotta treat mine with kid gloves, its at 11 o'clock going straight ahead and on a home made stand but I'll give it a go for some extra tenths, might take a week to get used to it though!

Will try those settings, cheers.

Mine is clamped to the same table my TV is on and my PS3 is underneath the table on a little stand, well away from the wall so it stays cool.

No bother.

Well after work tonight I had a couple of goes and managed to get into the 2:05's! A tad rusty as I haven't played in quite awhile and rather tired (2 night's of 6 hours sleep).

Here's the video of the lap (I messed up quite bad at the loop!) but may be of help :)! Guide will come later this week for those that want to improve on round 1! If there's anything specific you want me to focus on do let me know!

Cheers for posting that. It's given me a good idea of how to gain some time through Maggots, Beckets and Chapel as well as Stowe. 👍

Last night managed a 2:09.5xx
Im under 2:10 and Im happy with it.
There was times like the car just wouldn't stick and other times it would but somehow get invalid lap. I hate the car but at lease I am done.

Hopped on for an hour and managed to get a 2:05.620. Fun combo but you definitely have to pull a couple tricks to make it happen. Still think I could manage a half a second quicker if I spent a little more time.

Nice time, good luck!

Hi all,

First time poster and first time competitor in GTA. Having fun with it so far (best so far is a 2.07.3). Just a couple of questions...
  1. Is there a way to turn the ghost completely off? The full car totally blocks the view and is a total distraction and I find the line on the road quite irritating too.
  2. Is there a way to see how many people have posted times in total (I always like to know what percentage I'm in when I do this type of running).
I look forward to checking in on this forum throughout GTA :)

Up on the joypad/dpad is the default for turning ghosts on and off.
The lines can be removed in the driving options bit.
Regarding total participants, someone normally sets a really slow time and we go by that, I may do a slow lap with another profile tonight, something like five minutes that's about a good a guide to total participants as you'll get/need.

EDIT, sorry didn't realise I had replied to an older post.
