Got a 2.10.5xx after my first try. I'm really frustrated with the invalidations this time, if you get too close to the wall (not touching it at all) after t1 you get disqualified because supposedly you crashed with the wall, funny.

EDIT: Down to 2.09.5xx yay! :gtpflag:

I take it you can't comment on how you know that info.
It's just my assumption this time.

We know the GT-R LMP1 is coming, we know that the cars have got faster each round, we know that they don't like having the final round spoiled ahead of time (see 2013) and we know that there's an update before the final round.

The final round occurs over the Le Mans weekend and the NISMO marketing machine is genius, targetting the fans in a major way - what better way than to have loads of Gran Turismo 6 booths running a GT-R LMP1/Le Mans build all weekend?

It was my guess right from the moment the last update came with three GT Academy-badged cars and four rounds of time trials...

So reading between the lines then...;)
I'll be amazed if, post Le Mans, the only FF GT-R in the world isn't in the game.
I'm expecting them to have horrendous tyre problems btw & if it's wet....:scared:
Back to the old drawing board for 2016 me thinks :banghead:

Darren Cox did mention on radiolemans during the N24 coverage, that fans will be able to race the LMP GTR in digital world very very soon.

Did a lap just to get the car. I used a DS3 - wich I haven't been doing any real driving with since GT3 - with very careful inputs, and really drove slowly. I wanted a clean lap, just to get an estimate of the number of participants this far into round 3. I came in at 18331st place with a 3:21 lap.

Holy crap, I was just about to post something similar in the other thread

I suppose considering I'm not as near the source as you might be (or you can see the future...makes sense), its just a case of putting 2 and 2 together...or just having a decent sense of how to properly market/hype something. I had always been under the impression since the first GT Academy Poster with the GT-R LM from Sebring that we might get that car and the closer it gets to Le Mans, the more it feels like this has become a multi-faceted hype machine for Nissan's LMP1 return.

A less than mediocre time of 2'10.819 for 1,170th place atm. Really enjoying this combo, car is a real treat to drive here. Though this is just another meaningless round and I don't really car about the standings at this point and time, I may just stick a good amount of time in on this one and use this event as a tune up for the final round just because I like the car so much. Well done PD for giving us average drivers a great and easy car to drive in this round.

Just nipped into the top 1000. About 40 minutes in, and this car is amazing. I normally avoid the high powered race cars as I am usually woeful, but this is such good fun.

After almost three hours of trying, I got 2'11.938. Turned down TCS to 1 and turned off Stability Control, not nearly as bad an idea as I thought and it actually gained me two whole seconds after the 2'13s I was getting.

Really liking the car. Very stable and good grip overall. Lots of torque in mid range revs, so you can short shift and not lose too much accel. Not as drifty as the GT-R either, which means the top replays won't look like it comes from Ridge Racer (hopefully). Same corners as last year are killing me: Bruxelles, Pouhon and of course the Bus Stop  Eau Rouge and Blanchimont are easy flat no problem with this car. Got it down to 2.08.7 last night, I could see another 0.5 sec from the Data Logger, but after that it's diminishing returns for me.

Unfortunately, it looks like the grip glitch is back again. It's not as apparent with this car as it has good grip anyway (pad users probably won't even notice). I think it's worth 0.3 secs per lap.

And it's almost certain now that the last round will use GT-R LMP1. The first time ever a GTA final using a non RWD car. Again, hopefully this means unrealistic drifting is minimized 👍

As always, good luck to everyone :)

Off-topic but the shots in the OP are too freaking gorgeous and the car seems really well modeled (GT7 hints ?)

A bit faster in a straight line than I'd expect it to be but I'm not complaining. I'm looking forward to setting this up for a variety of levels of competition, experimenting with both downforce and power output to match it to certain events, what with it being the only LMP2.

Somehow despite gtplanet's hot housing photography environment (realistic thread, ultra-realistic photo thread, different levels of competition, serious high-level software editing) and the incredible work that's been produced, PD manages to keep up with utterly stunning shots. It genuinely makes me wonder how they maintain parity with the many amateur and professional photographers on here that put hours and hours into their work.

I know the prize is to race a real car which requires to use a wheel but for those not using a wheel (i do use a G27) it hardly seems fair, since the car wont go through the fast parts flat out why using the DS3. people using a DS3 might as well not bother trying. Round 3 is all about the wheel users sadly, best of luck to those that set the gold time.

Ooooh boy. Love the car/track combo as it drives really awesome as many have noted by now. But as a DS3 user, best I've managed in some 45m has been a low 2:19 and I have no idea how to shave 6s for gold time.

This one's definitely for wheel users...

why won't it go flat out..?
you have to input the correct amount of steering and throttle regardless of controller used.
watching the video on the first page shows the driver lifting through a number of fast parts.

Maybe (highly likely) the cars setup is the issue, it might not have enough downforce to hold it flat, but it's speed through there is probably faster than if it had more aero.

Using a wheel you can but with a DS3 you can't put in the input like you can with a wheel, using a DS3 it just seems to slide out wide. even at the same speed as using a wheel, with a DS3 it will slide for no reason and thats were the DS3 users loose time.

^^ Wolf_Aono is doing like 250-260km/h through Eau Rouge. Most I've managed so far is maybe 190. I have yet to figure out how he's netting 60-70 extra km/h.

Scratch that, just managed a 220 through ER. 250 is maybe not impossible on DS3.

-------

EDIT: Made a 230 and a 2:15.6xx lap (not at the same time), so maybe gold isn't out of a DS3's reach...

Also, DEM CREDITS YEEHAW
