So after trying to drop in to the 26s all days now thought il have a rest walk round the shop chill out and come back refreshed.

As im walking round the shops I get half way and what do I see 🤬 traffic cones and I flip I proceed to kick the crap out of one turning the air blue with my language (luck there was no kids) about) and to finish off I picked it up and launched it straight in to a pile of rubbish.

Now it only I could do that to the virtual cones

Jesus Christ man you need help!!:lol::lol:

Which cones are you guys hitting? I only ever hit them when I brake too late, and plough straight through. On a clean lap I'm not that near, but perhaps that's why I'm 4secs behind you.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I'd suggest the inside of the 2nd corner at Dunlop, the inside of Tertre Rouge and all of them on the Ford Chicane.

Interestingly, in Free Practice Session 1 at Le Mans the real #23 car set a best lap time of 3:43.383 and in Free Practice Session 2, the #22 got a 3:50.713. The real cars got bronze!

There's another free practice scheduled for Wednesday, Jun 10, then qualifying begins with a 2 hour session later on the same day and continues with two more 2 hour sessions on Thursday.

So we'll see if the real cars are capable of getting gold in this event next week. :)

Wait, so even a guy like me can beat the real thing? :P

I don't even have a decent lap here, thanks to those :censored:ing cones! I swear if they weren't there and I ran that line it would not invalidate my time... :banghead:

Anyway, I got the prize cars which is all I really cared about from this anyway; no way I would ever get anywhere close, especially with a DS3. This is the first (and probably only) time I'll ever play GT Academy, and it was certainly fun! :D

How terrible!

I mean, you could've at least thrown it into a recycle bin so that the cone could one day be something more useful. :sly:
I reckon the cones are members of an overlord secret society and plan to ruin drivers' laps by moving a couple of centimetres closer to the track.
Well, it is a shape of a triangle...

Dunlop Curve cone, apex of the first Chicane, Tertre Rouge and Ford Chicane. Basically, most of my failed attempts end before the Mulsanne Straight.

Pretty tough combo this is... i like La Sarthe, the car is ok, difficult but drivable, but the big problem for me is the track boundaries... As already said, not the car nor the cones or anything, these i can manage, but those weird invisible track boundaries that disqualifies your lap out of nowhere, and you freeze staring your screen with your mouth wide open screaming "why? WHY?"... many (perhaps all) of you have already faced that, so you know the feeling...
Anyway...
Did a first day 3:28,328 with at least .6xx-.7xx lost in first 4 splits (until after the Mulsanne) at that lap (.3xx only at Michelin Chicane), plus whatever i could find from there on (certainly something at Porsche Curves). Had already two more sessions since then, with no result (damn dq's), i guess i have to try more...

Good luck to all competitors đź‘Ť

After many, many more attempts, I've been able to improve to a 3:31.096 lap:)

I think I can crack 3:31 flat, so once I partake in some liquid refreshment, its back to cone hunting for me!:mischievous:

Good luck everyone!

So frustrated!

I'm stuck at 34.8, but two hours of red laps prove I could hit low 32's now. I just can't avoid the invisible boundaries.

I hate FWD, cones in the line, and arbitrary boundaries.

If you don't mind me asking: why?

I'm also rockin' the DS3; can't be arsed to get a wheel.

I don't entertain any visions of grandeur; I don't hold any hopes that I'd ever crack the top 100 (or even 1000, globally,) but I like to see if I can Gold the events, and how far I can improve, using said DS3. :)

I wish PD made hitting a cone an invalidated 'red lap' instead of a restart...
I wish, that hitting a cone would activate a coffee break bonus, extra paintchip or small car as a bonus;).

Anyway, even when PD reconstructed "hitting cone/obstacle=invalid" to a red lap, i would restart.
Only on short tracks, i drive the redlap, redlap on panorama, Nurburg, Sarthe and i will restart instantly.:yuck:

I did an hour on tuesday to result in a 3:42.959, i did try with traction at 0, always got 1,5seconds faster and then messed it always up at one of the last 5 corners.:irked:

Yesterday i did the academy rounds in my other two accounts to get the zytec and the LM for free, and suddenly managed a silver, so went back to my main account and got a silver with 3:39.9xx.:dopey:

Last year i only managed bronze in all 4 rounds, this year managed gold on round 1+2 and silver on round 3+4. If i can keep this up, maybe next year all 4 gold??:nervous:

It's a wierd car, setup is like a kart on coblestones, i'm glad i did not use rumble or a wheel with ForceFeedback.

You get faster every time you try it. :)
2012: I was top 1000 (DS3)
2014: I was top 300 (DS3)
2015: I am currently 18th. (G27) :)

DQed by Cones: The last turn inside. The Last Porsche Curve, the little tiny bend after the 2nd chicane

Invalidated boundries: Tetre Rouge outside. Last Porsche curve Outside.

Places I always mess my time up: Everywhere, except for Indy, Mulsanne Corner, and the first half of the porsche curves.

lol This is what it feels like sometimes.

3:26.690 after countless attempts. Had one of my best sector ones only to bungle both chicanes, throwing away whatever advantage I had built up. Inexplicably held 1st all the way out of Mulsanne and Arnage only to steal a chunk of time from the Ford chicane.

Think I'm at the point where I can put together notes. Whether they'll be useful enough to get you through in your particular country, I'd say borderline. My current theoretical best is only 26 flat but I have watched other drivers' replays, including Wolf's 24.8xx flier.

Ok heh, despite the slight hangover I managed to get below 28's with 27.824 :D "bit" annoyed for I can quite easily get 3 tenths ahead of my ghost coming in to playstation chicane, but if I don't loose all the time there already it's either one of the next two corners... Also I gain another 3 tenths in porsche curves and in last chicanes, but it really doesn't help for I'm more than half a second behind my ghost by that point :boggled: heh, funny way to start the day, no too bad idea to run some laps straight in the morning, probably getting drunk the night before wasn't the best idea but luckily there's plenty of time next week to hopefully shave couple more tenths...

If I was in charge of Nissan and this car is what the engineers etc came up with as their best shot for a specific race, I would send them back to the drawing board with a warning, fix this car to drive like a race car is supposed to or find another job.

I learned that key with this Trial is the braking. Having a good and efficient braking lets you have the best racing line, and the best exit out of the corners. Wolf is the best in braking late but in time to prepare the car for the next straight. I need to learn how to use the engine brake properly with this car. I'm on 25.6 at the moment, but I know where my flaws are. The Wolf hunting goes on guys! :lol:đź‘Ť

I'm hunting a wolf, but its not that wolf. lol I only have a 27.4...

Maybe the point is that the car doesn't drive like "a race car is supposed to". They've been innovative, whether that's paid off we'll find out next weekend!

Managed to string the second half a lap together for a 3:27.834, but was .7 slower to the split after the second chicane on the Hunaudieres straight than my best. :ill:

Did get this finally downloaded day after it came out.

Few laps, and got silver, only .8 or so away form gold, i think. Cannt remember off top of my head. Was really looking forward to this round. The cones and silly track limits is a joke. Yes, i understand can not take to much advantage by going off line, but in real world, all racers take a little bit of curbing, and cut bits of the Ford Chicane. Give me a penalty if all 4 wheels go over the track limits, but not 2.

Will try too get gold, later today after F1 quali.

I've got a T500 and set FFB to 1 & 1 and I'm getting pins and needles in my hands and wrists from the constant shaking. Any way to disable the FFB completely? Tried unplugging the mains power to it but then the wheel and pedals don't work.
