2016 Formula 1 Grand Premio de MexicoFormula 1

Hopefully Vettel will tell us what he's actually thinking in the press conference instead of the usual bull:censored: PR answer. That would be much more entertaining.

I don't see how a safety car neutralizing what ever perceived advantage would happen is the same as what Max just did to two drivers...

He already did that on the radio. :P

Doesn't negate the point though, the incidents were identical so if one was a penalty, the other one should be. As it is it feels like they just penalised Verstappen under pressure from Ferrari.
They always judge lap one events with more leniency.

No, not at all. Considering they just penalized Kvyat for doing that same move much earlier, it seems consistent. If circumstances like a neutralization of the SC or something else, Lewis would have been penalized too.

a 5s penalty for Lewis won't do anything to the result though, he was over 8 seconds ahead

Was doing that exact same calculation when they announced Max's penalty.

Let's be honest, stewards are always going to treat lap one incidents differently. That Max didn't get penalized for running Nico off the track should be an indicator of why... when you are all on cold tires and jostling for position, they expect some understeer and rubbing here and there.

Emotion is one thing, the stuff Vettel came out with was rather OTT. What is interesting though is that FOM chose to broadcast it, they even missed one swear one bleep.

I feel sorry for the Mexicans, best fans in F1 are treated with another terrible race.

It's just not a good track for F1 racing unless you excavate it and bring it a few thousand feet closer to sea level. The lack of air kills downforce and slipstreaming.

Yes we need all of those things but we don't need someone to be abused for trying to sort it out properly.

I can't blame Vettel, how many times has it been nearly instant for a radio message to come along due to the Stewards saying give up the spot.

What about VET vs RIC incident? Was that leaving your line while breaking?

Vettel got backed up quite hard, and then had to brake and correct as Verstappen came across taking the race line again. What was he suppose to do, run into the rear of Verstappen or hope that Daniel did what he did.

A Nico win in Brazil guarantees him the title, would go for it if I was him.

Standard this is the best crowd quote from a race winner.

Are you demanding a penalty for Vettel, for doing something Max has done all year without getting a penalty once?
They penalised him in Hungary didn't they? Plus they redefined the rules in Austin, so there is a case for him to get hit with something.
