2016 Formula 1 Grande Premio do BrasilFormula 1

As a Manor fan is its a little gutting that Sauber is ahead of MRT, but they derserved it, just was quicker in the wet and Nasr drove very well.

It's a damn shame that Max had his strategy ruined, otherwise he'd have really given us a show tussling with Lewis up front. Instead he gave us a show gliding through the field, like Schumacher used to do in these conditions.

Driver of the day: Lewis, obviously.

While it's tempered by the knowledge that Max, at the end, had the benefit of massively fresher tires than everyone else, that run was incredible. The overtake on Vettel was one of the hardest won battles of the year.

Still, have to give props to Lewis... probably the only person who Verstappen couldn't pass up there. Just put his foot in it to build a cushion. Very controlled race. As expected, as Lewis is pretty handy in the rain.

But Max, that was a master class. Finding all the unusual lines. Taking risks. Which is proper. If you're tiptoeing around the track in these conditions, you're just vacillating between going dog slow and spinning out. If you're pushing it, you've already got half a turn of countersteer ready when it lets go.

EDIT: Alex Yoong touched upon the same point in the Fox post-race analysis when pointing out Max's spin. Max knew it was coming, so he was on it, countering, braking and releasing right away. Not caught unawares like Kimi was. The save was only half down to incredible reaction times, and half down to anticipation.

Favorite points of the race were that overtake on Vettel and Massa hugging his family on the grid, with the entire Mercedes and Ferrari garages out in force to see him off. One of the nicest guys never to be champion. Pure class from start to finish.

The marshals in the final corner were bracing for a Max crash but turned to applauding :D
