I used a third of my data plan to watch Chris Buescher win a race that wasn't at a restrictor plate track.

Totally worth it. 👍

Chris Buescher entered Cup 3 years later and in a third-tier car to boot, and got his first career top 5 (and win) before Princess Sparkle Pony. On a non-plate track.

Something to think about.

Who the hell is princess sparkle pony?! I figured that would be my racing nickname.

Also can't be mad at all with NASCAR, they did absolutely everything they could you keep that race running, which is great.

I know it's difficult to tell when fog will go away but honestly I felt they should have called it around when the 22 laps would have been over. That dragged on far longer than it should have.

Seeing that Watkins Glen is top 5 on most physical tracks on the schedule, I can see him not racing. Post-concussion your body's just like "ughhh"

I figured that he wouldn't race at Watkins Glen after he tweeted last Saturday that the doctors were preaching patience..

Seriously, you have never heard anyone refer to Danica as princess sparkle pony?

Look for the #38 to start having problems. I guess when your teammate is in the top 30 and you are not, they will get that #34 in the chase one way or another.

Not to add to Danica Patrick's 'ability' to drive but Chris Buescher won this race purely on dumb luck. Any small team can win under these circumstances. If Josh Wise or Jeb Burton won this same exact race instead, I'd expect it just as much.
This reddit post is claiming (with a source) that Jr. won't be at the Glen either

You'd be nuts to drive an oval track with a concussion. But you'd have to be a complete masochist to even go a few laps on a road course with any major injury. I guess we're going to see Jeff Gordon for a while longer.

To be honest, I think Dale Jr. might end up holding off racing for a longer time, probably until towards the end of the season around Martinsville-Texas at the earliest. Concussions, in my view, are the most important injuries to treat in any physical competition since they center around the brain (which anyone who passed 2nd grade will know, controls the entire body).

Sorry but you can have the crappiest equipment your team has to offer, but if you have good chemistry between yourself and your crew chief and work on the car during practice sessions, you'll be fine. Landon Cassill will still finish 20th-30th most races along the next stretch until the Chase begins.

Princess Danica Sparkle
You know, some people may find the name and image to be an insult... to the pony.

I'll give Danica this much. You can't get away saying she's terrible anymore but on the flip side, she's incredibly average to where even I don't really notice where she is most weekends. I think this article sums up my thoughts rather well.

Looking forward to Watkins Glen but I really wish there was a way to have Marcos Ambrose in the field again.

Ah the rantings of a pay driver who can't drive...*dials phone* "Ello is this AF Corsa? Yes I think I found you another driver. No seriously she's perfect."

She did drive a Ferrari in an ALMS race a few years ago.

To be fair, this was a total fluke of a victory. He didn't have enough fuel to make it to the end, so the race absolutely had to end early for him to have any chance to win. His crew chief didn't even know fog was coming, as it couldn't be seen on radar. He was only still out there because a flat tire earlier in the race had gotten him off-sequence, so he had more fuel than everyone else at that moment in the race.

Had Danica won the race by this manner, we would be totally picking her apart for it, giving her zero credit for pure blind luck. I think it's only fair to give Buescher the same credit.

Look we're wasting time on this. He won, he's a likeable dude who has potential (basing that off of what he's done with an otherwise **** team). A win is a win and I'm happy it was Chris Buescher. Yes its a rain win and people shouldn't over blow it, but those have happened a lot and will continue to happen.
