Can someone transmit what's going on with Scott and Albertsons? Jayski's being a ***** on my phone.

Basically Scott is apparently retiring from full-time racing at the end of this year, while Albertsons is probably leaving the 44 team.

From Jayski...
"This was a difficult decision, but one that I made myself for my family," said Brian Scott. "Racing and specifically NASCAR has been and will always be in my heart, but right now, I want to turn all my attention to my family and to be able to spend more time with them. Racing has blessed me with great opportunities, and I'm very grateful for everything that it has allowed me to do, but for me, it's time to move on. I can't thank everyone enough who helped me in my career. I would not have made it to where I am at today without their trust and commitment."
I can respect his choice... Good for him.

I'm in shock right now. I thought he had a few good years left in him to be honest. But he's doing what's best for his family, so I can't knock him for that.

Let's be real, if Dale were alive today, he would be retired since about 2010 or 2011. Both due to age, and likely due to the fact that he would probably dislike the COT platform. So Harvick's ascent would have been delayed by roughly 3-6 years, and would definitely have been an extra car

I think Harvick would have moved up in 2002. Most likely in the 31 since Robby Gordon was the driver there in 02.

Always super fan friendly but definetly better for NASCAR. Was a ride buyer who was average in the Xfinity series.

How long is Regan Smith's contract for the 7 car? I had been hoping last year that he would get picked for the second Petty ride but then they signed Scott. Next year could honestly be so good for RPM if they do the right things. Do a technical partnership with SHR and sign Smith or maybe snipe Wallace from Roush for the 44. Seriously, so much potential goodness.

I have always felt their biggest mistake was letting AJ go. I think they need to partner with someone though. SHR is going to have enough to handle with them switching to Ford. I have always felt RPM and Roush should work together a bit.

I don't know about letting AJ go, head they not let him go when they did, he probably still would have failed that drug test and then instead of Penske having to look for a driver, Petty would have. Finding the best driver at any given time of the year in the last 2-3 decades was always going to be easier for Roger than for Richard so it's probably best that AJ went to Penske. Sure Sam was the guy who got the nod, but it was a Penske ride, Roger could have have just about anyone.

As for working with Roush, I'm almost certain they already have but I can't find any old news on it. Roush apparently supplied some cars in the George Gillett era of the team so I would think that Roush isn't terribly keen on working with RPM after Gillett almost sunk the whole team. I still think their best bet would be to work with SHR since they're already a winning organization and Penske seems to not want to work with anyone. Sure SHR is new to Ford, but the things they already know probably still mostly apply. Any way the pizza gets cut here, I see SHR being the better organization to work with over RFR.

I agree, if they can work with SHR that would be their best option. I think RFR`s issues I think come down to the talent of their drivers more than their team itself.

I don't think that's necessarily the case or else Edwards and Kenseth would still be there.

Kenseth and Edwards were both fast and contended for titles at RFR. I think they both just wanted a change in scenery. My biggest concern with RFR is they don`t seem to have any young talent. Bubba is an average Xfinity guy but I don`t see him being a strong Cup drivers, atleast for now. I Reed is a ride buyer so he isn`t much of a future Cup driver either.

I would like to see Wallace Jr. or Landon Cassill in the 44 next season.

And as far as Jeff Green, 2002 was his best season. He very well could have swept both Rockingham races that year if things went his way.

Jeff Green. Possibly the ultimate "Oh yeah, I forgot about him." Cup driver.

Jeff was extremely fast in the Busch Series just never really transferred over to Cup.

If I had to guess, yes.

Martin Truex did not record a qualifying time. Backup car didn't pass LIS until the last 2 minutes of the session.

More like after 2002, I think he had planned to put Jeff Burton in his car from 2003 onwards.
