This time is bittersweet for motorsport fans. WEC and F1 finishing, SuperGT, ELMS and DTM finished amongst others for me. I usually start watching some older racing like 90s BTCC and Le Mans.Awesome. WEC finale this weekend, F1 finale next weekend. Then the big off season uggghhhhhhhhhh
Yeah. It is a real pity for all at Audi Sport to have it's programme pulled so abruptly. I will certainly miss them. It's Audi's farewell race as well.![]()
Optimally, they should go to Andre's team and have the rest of the Porsche drivers on that team go to Toyota's third car...Yeah, VAG letting him go to Toyota was highly doubtful anyway. Will the golden trio stay together, though? What's happening to Treluyer and Fassler?
Never! We have enough good drivers to field a competitive third car. It would be like sleeping with the enemy.Optimally, they should go to Andre's team and have the rest of the Porsche drivers on that team go to Toyota's third car...![]()
#teamstealthmode might be a better name. DSC did it's P2 preview 2017 and this one slipped right thru unnoticed, which is hard to do since you could see that thing from 35,000 feet up on a cloudy day.#TeamBanana![]()

Rubens, Dallara P2, and holy yellow.
That's for 2018, so the CLM has it's own class next year it seems.
The CLM is ByKolles though isn't it?That's for 2018, so CLM has it's own class next year it seems.
I might put money on byKolles winning the LMP1 Privateer title next year with 0pt.
It is great news to hear of BR Engineering entering LMP1 in 2018. Hopefully byKolles will still be there so we can have some competition.
This is a nice touch by Toyota.
PSA CEO and the director of Peugeot Sport have both confirmed that Peugeot won't return to Lemans / WEC until the costs will significantly be reduced. No agreement has been found as of yet with ACO and FIA. However, rumours were that Peugeot could provide an engine 1.6L Turbo for a Ligier in LMP3.
Their current focus is Dakar and the launch of the 308 Racing Cup in 2017. TCR upgrade is planned for 2018.
Surely they're kidding right? They'er wasting money in an event that doesn't even quantify to the use on average you get from WEC, and what is the 308 cup going to do but most likely be another manufacture cup that bases close to France. It's about as stupid as Volvo saying "we're done with V8s, and were going to focus on the STCC", what is the allure of this small series over a massive international one? I find it hard to see running your own series and spending the tons of money that goes into Dakar and hardly sees road production, less expensive than WEC.
The 308 Racing Cup replaces the excisting RCZ Cup. It is a pretty popular series and it has been running a couple of years as a supporting series for the GT Tour here in France. They have invested a lot in the 308 Racing Cup and even if this car is run in a national cup, their focus for this machine is the international and national touringcar scenes all over the world. A few tests have been run a the 308 was pretty competitive even with its 1.6 turbo engine. There is currently no 2.0 liter version but that will arrive in 2018 as a TCR upgrade kit. Peugeot is offering the cars for 75.000E without tax if I am not mistaken. Next to the 308, Peugeot still runs the 208 series (amateur level) and as well the Dakar to which factory support and money goes the most. I expect them however to be at Lemans before 2020.
The engine they want to provide for the LMP3 is based on the engine of the 308 Racing Cup but adjusted to run in LMP3. Thus far it has been a rumor and I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere so far.
