It's a shame DiGrassi won't be back in WEC after the year he drove... Hope he comes back at some point for a one off or something like that.
Fassler is looking at a corvette or Audi GT drive. I dunno about treluyerAny news on Benoît Tréluyer and Marcel Fässler?
Yep, but it wont be officially announced until Dec.3 at the Porsche dinner http://www.motorsport.com/wec/news/lieb-dropped-from-porsche-lmp1-line-up-for-2017-852529/Audi said goodbye and Webber did too, however, it was probably the last LMP1 race for Mark Lieb, too. There is an interview with Neel Jani in which he pretty much confirms that one of the last le mans winners would join Porsche next year. http://www.motorsport-total.com/wec...l-jani-wec-wird-weiter-bestehen-16112103.html
I would say that Nick Tandy is going to replace Mark Lieb, Earl Bamber could be an option, too. Andre Lotterer will most likely take Mark Webbers seat. I think that all LMP1 pilots are great race drivers, but Tandy and Lotterer are incredible.
Well they can now enjoy the soup w/o wondering if it their last free meal.

It's that time of the year again.
What time you may ask?
Why, it's time for the yearly Corvette GTE-Pro speculation!
Should make GTE-Am GT3. They've gotten expensive but they're not as expensive as GTE's (but a smidge). If they wanted a larger field in GTE-Am they would freeze the field and keep out the new version of GTE cars. The problem they have now is the lack of options for a customer, here take a 488 or a Aston (maybe). The 2016 911 was a stop gap car that will likely get pushed to the back of a warehouse under a tarp, the Ford is not for sale, and if you name is not Jack Le Conte you are not getting a Corvette. At least with 2015 spec cars there is the choice of a 3 brands of customer cars (+ Labre).
That would ultimately kill GTE.Should make GTE-Am GT3. They've gotten expensive but they're not as expensive as GTE's (but a smidge).
No. x infinity. There are no technical regs to that. You build a car call it a GT3 and get it homologated. Then, since they are all different, you are forever BOPing them. Oh they do that in GTE as well... Crap. They should just use GTE regs and NO deviation from them allowed.Should make GTE-Am GT3. They've gotten expensive but they're not as expensive as GTE's (but a smidge).
But how? GTE-Am is just a customer class anyways. It works in IMSA to have GTE and GT3 doesn't it? The Am class has only 5 cars next year. 5. Pro has 9 potentially, and at Le Mans 13. Making Am teams buy factory rated cars is a bit foolish isn't it? GTE is GT1 and GT3 is GT2 (especially with the new regs), it'd actually lead to some class diversity for the first time in years. That would ultimately kill GTE.
So just kill Am? They couldn't possibly afford the new cars. And then you've just got the dozen entries from Pro. LMP's are great but GT is much more fun to watch, yet there is such a tiny field in the WEC.No. x infinity. There are no technical regs to that. You build a car call it a GT3 and get it homologated. ByKolles maybe?...PRIVATEER R18?!
