COTA is poop so I'm happy it's gone. One corner will never make up for a whole track and quite frankly T1 isn't even that great.

I can assure you it is amazing in person. I happen to like COTA a lot as a track.

I'll be at Road America next weekend too and I'll have my car in the Audi Corral.

That's hilarious, and pretty smart.
It also exposes an interesting and potential flaw in the BoP system that has been thusfar unexploited.

While I cant imagine multiple teams running two kinds of car and just bouncing between them, those that can have a clearly unique advantage.

Well we have 2 other competitive Merc's so eh, class as a whole is a giant amazing cluster ****. Hey, wasn't Road America the circuit last year that made WeatherTech park their Porsche? Kinda ironic when you think about it.

Well I thought about how it hadn't been exploited yet myself but then I realized this is GTD we're talking about, seemingly the only class that has such an expansive field but also dedicated race teams. In other words the teams can afford to not support a single make/car because there are no manufacture teams in GTD. So just clever teams being clever, I think what hurts the rule being a long term one, is the title sponsor's team being the one that exposed it

Same. Only realistic chance I had at seeing this series in person (because can't really afford to travel at the moment AND there is no way in hell this series is coming to TMS) and now that is gone. While I love Indycar and happily will pay to see it (far more so then NASCAR) at TMS, its literally the only thing I'll ever get to see in person now :guilty:

The Weather Tech BoP dispute circus is back again. This time, they're parking the Merc and bringing out their Porsche.

Figures the title sponsor decides to be the goddamn whiners again

Would be nice if the Mcneils could just screw the hell off now. Tired of their damn adverts anyways.

Neat, Now we get to see two banana boats 👍

Much better. Perhaps preparation on MSR's part for becoming a "privateer" again next year once the one year grace period factory team is over? :P Great to see these cars in something clean cut.

Edit: Throw Ed Carpenter in on the list of interested people wanting to enter IMSA next year. Not just looking at a GM related option, and seems like he's another candidate for the BMW GTLM program.

That's fantastic... Makes the NSX GT3 look even more stunning than it already is. Will be interesting to see how MSR progress next year once the year of factory backing ends, as they become a "privateer" team, doubt it'd have a massive effect, but it'd be interesting to see how they cope, as they're a very solid outfit.

The NSX colors are OEM and since all of those NSX chassis are owned by HPD Shank really has no say in it. It will be interesting to see if MSR has a IMSA program next year, or if they make a move to Indycar.

I love the idea of a potential DPi program for Ford after the GT program ends, but Ganassi at the helm would put a bit of a dampener on it really, and unfortunately, it's realistically very much likely that he'd get the job for the DPi program too.

That's the only gripe I have with the current Ford GT program, as much as I love the car and the program, I've never been too fond Ganassi as a team, or Chip himself, just think he's never been the best person/team to for such program. Though with that said, it has brought a fair bit of success with the GT program, and he has at least kept things relatively quite since the whole LM 2016 debacle  (though I think a bit of mountain out of a molehill was made of that personally).

But hey, I guess we'll just have to see what the future brings, and for now I'll continue to enjoy the GT program :D.

Just about all of the drivers are staying at my hotel!

That's awesome! And here I am stuck at a crappy Microtel in Fond du Lac with the worst hotel WiFi ever :irked:

Enjoy the races 👍
