He was never my #1 driver, but I did like him. He was almost always in a good mood, if he won, or finished dead last. He always had this chipper feeling of happiness floating around him. He's also one of the most sportsman like people I've ever seen in racing. A true class act.

I hope he isn't throwing around the word "retirement" and decideds to come back after a year or so, but sadly, that's almost never the case. One can hope, though.

He was two-faced.

Put on the facade of a chipper, happy person, yet was incredibly vindictive. The spat he had with Keselowski showed his true colors.

Going to miss him, favorite moment being the 2005 race at Atlanta where we got his first up win. He's going to be missed. :(

At least I don't have to root for him in that new Camry...dear God what the hell is it based off of? A wreck? :odd:

What spat and really? Really? Keselowski is the least likable driver in the garage (only better than the Dillions). He says the dumbest 🤬.

Edit: The 2010 spat? For Christ's sake they were both idiots. Its been like 7 years.

I'll agree to an extent but what was impressive to me was how he dealt with those sort of things in the public eye. He is very good at PR like a Jimmie Johnson. Keselowski ruffled a lot of feathers in his early years not just Carl. If you see Keselowski as the victim I think you need to look at the whole situation and not just Carl vs Brad.

Classic NASCAR feud, sometimes things happen in auto racing that makes racers do things they normally wouldn`t do and that`s coming from a Keselowski fan. Carl turned into a fantastic role model of what a racer should be. Good for him though that he wasn`t afraid to do what makes him happy.

I have no way to describe how i feel about Edwards. Im absolutely shocked

EDIT: Just found out JWT is also retiring

Saw an article that said this:

"Sources added that the prospective changes involve the format of the races themselves and how points are awarded for them. If implemented, the changes could address the length and format of Cup races and may result in race breaks, similar to other series where “heat” formats are used to break up the competition to feature multiple, shorter races rather than one longer one."

WTF NASCAR?! :banghead:

As if we needed further confirmation that King Brian is just throwing 🤬 at the wall and seeing what sticks...

It's funny reading people's reactions to Edwards not racing and a lot of them seem to come back to golly gee it must be Kyle Busch's fault. Hilarious and typical.

IF they implement a heats and features format like every single local track int he country it could work out.

Anyone else on the Fan Council here? Just got a survey having to do with my feelings on certain things pertaining to TV coverage and possible changes to the Chase which some might actually like. Due to NASCAR's confidentiality agreement with Council Members, can't really elaborate. I know that's a huge tease essentially but just wondering who else might possibly be a member and if they got a little taste of what might possibly change? If you aren't on the Council, look into it because it gives you a chance to speak with NASCAR directly about things and not just vent on social media about how you feel.

I tried when they came up with it, but I'm Canadian and they weren't accepting us at the time and then never bothered after that. I would really like to know what you're going on about though. Would it potentially make it watchable again?

"The right situation." How could being at Gibbs while all 4 cars are winning and in title contention not be the right situation? Are we really sure Jr.'s head is okay? :odd:

He probably has more insider knowledge being a driver and car owner, than you think. We just had a WDC F1 driver leave what could easily be said to be a championship winning car next season. People do things for strange reasons, even if from the outside people don't see why.

I saw something earlier yesterday on NBCSN's website and they had a poll up asking people what changes they would like to see. there were things from caution clocks to heat races to halftime, but the one people seemed to be picking most was the option to change nothing.

Because everyone can agree we want the 2003 system back.

As a Carl fan, I'm devastated that he's not racing this season but I don't think he's completely done racing. Maybe he's taking a year off, he definitely didn't look like he was retiring at Homestead.

I think we are all used to seeing the glitz and glamour of NASCAR but the truth is it's a hard job so stay relevant, extremely time consuming, and in Carl's case to have your heart broken many times you might think it's a good time to hang it up while you are still fairly young, have millions of dollars and are set for life, have a young family etc. More freedom to live your life and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
