Only half the field is any better than the Xfinity crowd...not confidence inducing (especially when Danica Crashtrick and Wrecky Stenhouse are in the same field...).

Point taken, but I still think it may be a touch better than what we've seen so far.

Why does plate racing still exist
Because the train wreck that is restrictor plate racing would be an even bigger train wreck if the cars were faster. That in turn could either result in wrecks more dangerous than they already are or Daytona and Dega being taken out of the schedule- both of which are bad options for NASCAR's brass (not that they've had any good ideas to begin with lately, but still).

Remove both from the schedule. Only have the 500, and even then maybe use the road course instead.

They won't do that. Both probably bring in 1/3 of NASCAR's annual income, and all those old school fans would riot if their three day keggers were no more.

Also, Dale Jr wouldn't have a specialty event where people can kiss his *** far more than normal.

That was some impressive driving by Reed, now if he could only drive that well during the rest of the races that would be great.

Also glad to see everybody survived that crapfest!

GG FOX on NOT showing a replay of the crash.

:censored:ing idiots

They were probably in a hurry to start forgetting the race just like everybody else (plus it was already running late).

Just got back to our hotel room after the race.

Race was pretty good when they were racing and not wrecking. Very long day, so long we ran out of beer!

Meanwhile on NBCSN, they are showing the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East racing at New Smyrna in New Smryna Beach, Florida. Remember that these radical new changes to NASCAR doesn't affect any series that isn't Trucks, XFINITY, or Cup. So check that one out if interested.

All congratulations to the winner of today... tonight's Daytona race in XFINITY.

I heard no update on Dakota Armstrong, he hadn't dropped his net. Anyone hear anything beyond that?

I heard he was okay, as well as the others that were involved in the wreck at the end.

Would have been nice for FS1 to tell us that though.
