Maybe more Fords on the grid this time.
Even TCR looks good with only three cars confirmed.

Hopefully Preston Hire will be running the 4th Tickford Mustang if he does.
That's realistic. Does the #5 come with it.

I think the last time there were more Fords than Holdens on the grid in the ATCC, was back in the days of Formula Sierra when even Brock drove one.

Wasn't there more Fords (or equal) numbers somewhere around the BA-BF era?

From memory it would’ve been close but I’m sure they were never in front with numbers.
The numbers for 2007 (according to wiki) were 16 Fords to 15 Holdens: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_V8_Supercar_Championship_Series

I'm almost positive Ford outnumbered Holden for one year as it was such a rare occurrence, and back in Tony Cochrane's day the fields were far more even.

Edit: I just remembered that at the end of that year (2007) BJR announced they'd go to Holden... I was soooo pissed at them and was thinking ''One ****en year, We outnumbered them (Holden) for one lousy ****en year''

Ok wow! Well done 👍

It’s been such a game of musical chairs in recent times, it’s hard to keep up.

Is this weekend's Gold Coast 600 two separate races one Saturday and one Sunday? I thought it had always been one single race day.

Stanaway into Lowndes. These guys are weaving at blind corners. Cant do that.

Oof. Lowndes gets 5 grid spot penalty.

Pye still can't seem to qualify. Good stuff from JC though.

What happened to the three stage qualifying from earlier in the year? Should have had that format for this weekend.

What was silly, VASC had the yellow line at 15th place. I thought it was a knockout qualifying. Then, Skaife says one of the drivers is on the bubble in 14th or 15th, for the Shootout.
Agree. Looked like it should have been.

The team should be able to speak to the driver first. Shame JC got the kerb/curb Hop.

Edit:
NICE!

🤬 Piss poor effort from the #888 team on this one.

They’re the ones with the best view of what’s going on around their car & driver.
Craig should’ve been told Stanaway was on a flier so he could watch for him coming.

Starting in the 20’s isn’t a great way to begin a weekend with the Pirtek Cup as a goal :banghead:

Honestly, I’m hoping for a bit of chaos today. Last few rounds have been very clean, and for the last few years at GC, the races haven’t been particularly interesting.

Edit: Just read that James Moffat and Dale Wood’s brother had a scuffle after the Carrera Cup race. Moffat might have a bit of red mist for the race here.

Seems like a drive down the boulevard. The object is to win.

Again with the #56.

Race still ain't over.

Who asked for mayhem?

Oof. That looks like a massive hit for Brown. Shame he was going real good too.

What the hell is going on in pitlane? It's chaos.

So that was either dumb by Steve Owen, or it wasn’t really his fault at all because of where the yellow flags were out.

Talking about dumb, Dumbrell straight into Moffat.

Okay?
