Lions be Lioning.

Dan Orvlovsky just goes for the jugular.

And with how Arizona lost this weekend, it shows that maybe the Lions win wasn't as big of an upset as it seemed 7 days ago. I don't see them winning another game, with Jacksonville the next game off their bye this week being probably their best chance.

THIS JUST IN...

According to reports by ESPN, the Houston Texans have fired Head Coach and General Manager, Bill O'Brien. What a lot of Texans fans hoped have been done a long time ago now finally happens. Especially when you start a season 0-4 and haven't done too much in winning games, you're going to get canned. So now the Texans are headed by interim head coach and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel.

The Houston Texans will host the Jacksonville Jaguars this coming Sunday.

That move happened 6 months too late. The Texans are going to be pretty bad for the next few years since they have no draft picks.

I think they have to wait until the season is over but as soon as they can they need to talk to Eric Bienemy the offensive coordinator of the Chiefs. I would rather have him with Deshaun Watson then start rebuilding the offensive line to protect him. See if he can work some of that Mahomes magic with Watson.

Actually, Blitz24 , many of us Houston Texans fans wanted him fired even longer than six months ago. I guess now the Texans' management felt the patience for Bill O'Brien finally ran out. So he's gone and especially with the Texans' 0-4 start to the 2020 season.

Here are some interesting omissions from the Vikings at Texans game this past weekend...

* All three head coaches ever in Texans' history were in this game- (then) head coach Bill O'Brien, former Texans' coach that took them to the playoffs for the first time- Gary Kubiak on the Vikings, and the first-ever Texans coach- Dom Capers on the Vikings.
* I think it was also the 100th game coached for Bill O'Brien and Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer.
* The Houston Texans were 0-4 all-time against the Minnesota Vikings. Make that 0-5 after yesterday's fail.

Elsewhere...

I read the NFL dropped fines up to $30K for Las Vegas Raiders players going maskless for a charity event. Fair to lighten a few bank accounts for trying to prevent the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus.

That's all. Carry on with your day/night...

Matt Patrica needs to be fired after that performance. How do you let a Saints team, who's very injured, drop 35 unanswered points on you? I've over this team until Thursday now instead of being over them until the typical Tuesday.

Thankfully, next week is the bye so we can't possibly blow that...right?
No, the bye will crush them 56-0.

I can't say I'm shocked at this season. The Lions are the very definition of insanity. Funny to think that Caldwell wasn't good enough now knowing that his replacement is doing far, far worse as a coach than he is.

So the Atlanta Falcons still stink. The Dirty Birds got cleaned up 30-16 at the Green Bay Packers last night.

It is time to welcome Week 5 of NFL action. Hopefully each game can go as scheduled. Here are some of the many games slated for this week:

BYE WEEK TEAMS: Detroit and Green Bay

* TB Buccaneers at CHI Bears (THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
* JAX Jaguars at HOU Texans
* BUF Bills at TEN Titans
* ARI Cardinals at NYJ Jets
* PHI Eagles at PIT Steelers
* CIN Bengals at BAL Ravens
* MIA Dolphins at SF 49ers
* NYG Giants at DAL Cowboys
* MIN Vikings at SEA Seahawks (SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
* LAC Chargers at NO Saints (MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)

Nice parity for the prime time games. Midwest for Thursday night, Pacific Northwest for Sunday night, and down South for Monday Night. I am a bit concerned about the Monday Night game since Hurricane Delta is forecast to impact southeastern Louisiana starting with a landfall around Friday night into Saturday morning. I hope everyone in the path of Delta will be okay and that the game doesn't have to be postponed. There is still a lot of season left to go. Each team is still eligible for the postseason unless there's a postseason ban on a team making the postseason or if a team forfeits the season. So keep playing hard and show improvement.

Enjoy this week of action!

It was always just a power move by the GM. He wanted his own guy and Patricia happened to be the Patriots assistant that year who managed to con people into giving him a job. Remember Josh McDaniels name was also rumored as Lions HC around that time as well.

Which still gets me, seeing as Patriots assistants are 141-196-1 with only 2 playoff wins (both from O’Brien). And Joe Juge and Brian Flores are leaving a bit to be desired.

Still not sure how they fell off the tracks that quickly. Caldwell did a great job, but even Jim Schwartz (remember him almost throwing fist with Harbaugh?) got the Lions moving forwardish.

The new week of NFL action begins tonight in Chicago. The Chicago Bears host Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Be sure to enjoy tonight's action if you'll be watching tonight's game.

You don't see a 1st and 30 very often.

Make that a 2nd and 34...

Time for another Sunday of NFL football! Enjoy today's action.

A few games have been moved because of COVID-19/Coronavirus.

Texans WIN! The Houston Texans picked up win No. 1 on the season with a 30-14 victory hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars. There was not much to be excited about when two teams have a combined record 1-7. However, this is a Division match to where you can help your cause to make the postseason by winning in your division. Texans QB Deshaun Watson had 359 yards, 3 touchdowns, and intercepted twice. Up next for the Houston Texans is at the Tennessee Titans next Sunday.

I was at the Wings Over Houston Air Show, so I only followed the game by reading updates on Google and Yahoo! Sports. I didn't see any of the game as it was live.

Elsewhere...

* It was the Las Vegas Raiders who finally bested the Kansas City Chiefs. The score in Kansas City, Missouri was 40-32 in favor of the black and silver.

* The Arizona Cardinals grounded and thrashed the New York Jets 30-10 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

* 30-10 was the same score as the Los Angeles Rams went on the road and defeated the Washington Football Team.

* The Atlanta Falcons remain winless as the Carolina Panthers cleaned up the Dirty Birds 23-16.

* Keystone State pride was on the line as the Philadelphia Eagles visited the Pittsburgh Steelers. Winning this battle of Pennsylvania's two NFL franchises is the Pittsburgh Steelers, to the tune of a 38-29 win.

* In Baltimore, it was 27-3 as the Baltimore Ravens prevented the Cincinnati Bengals from finding the end zone. "B-More" was more in this rout.

Congratulations to all of this week's winners!

The Falcons finally cleaned house after the loss to the Carolina Panthers. Both head coach Dan Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff were fired.

How in the world did we beat the Chiefs????

Carr? Playing big in a big rivalry game? Being clutch? Throwing TD's that actually matter and give us the win? Defense stepping up?

No. I refuse to believe we have a shot. Please Raiders, for the love of god, settle for something: Either play like this every game or suck so bad I don't have to worry about having any expectations. I'm not letting you play with my feelings anymore, just pick one of those two and carry on with it the rest of the season.

Just a few weeks late, but I'm glad it's done. Maybe the Falcons will go places now.

God Dak's ankle looked awful. I hope he's able to recover from that.

Today the football gods gave us back Alex Smith:embarrassed: But the price? :nervous: Dak's ankle. :ill:

What an awful trade that was. My prayers tonight are with him. Hope he can recover and return stronger than ever.

TBH, I'm starting to believe the football gods took a year off. With the way injuries keep racking up I'm almost 100% sure the Aztec gods are filling up this year. Their lust for blood has no limits.

First time since 2014 (I believe) that Carolina has won in Atlanta. Coming into this season. I never would have imagined that the Panthers would be tied for first place in the NFC South five weeks in. The new coaching staff has done an outstanding job so far.

The match between Buffalo at Tennessee was moved to tonight thanks to the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic. Also on this Monday Night...

Chargers at Saints TONIGHT!

The Los Angeles Chargers are about to "Bolt Up" and head on down to New Orleans to meet the New Orleans Saints. This is a match of the AFC West meeting the NFC South. At 1-3, the Chargers haven't been the better of the two Los Angeles teams. However, they feel 'dey can beat 'dem Saints. New Orleans sits at 2-2 heading into tonight. Can "Who Dat?" Nation top the Chargers? We'll find out tonight!

--- BETTING INFO ---
FAVORED: NO -7
OVER/UNDER: 50.5 points

Please enjoy tonight's action should you be following or watching. Also... I'd be remiss if I didn't offer my thoughts and prayers to Dak Prescott. Though I'm a Houston Texans fan, I do wish our rival Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott well in recovering.

Glad to see Teddy Brigewater having some success after his own bad leg injury from a few years ago.

At 7:00 PM Eastern Time, the moved Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans game will be played. CBS will be showing this game. So if you want some NFL action on a Tuesday night, look to CBS tonight for this game.

Titans looked good tonight. Allen didn't at times.

Jerome

So much for the Bills winning the division.
I so can't wait for Kansas City to put up 60 on Buffalo next week that I'm not even going to bother watching it. The repeat of the 2008 season can't come soon enough after giving out all those fat contract extensions.

The Tennessee Titans thrashed the Buffalo Bills last night 42-16. In other news, La'veon Bell was let go by the New York Jets. So he's on the market for a team who wants his services.

This is Week 6 of the 2020 NFL Season. Some teams, like my Houston Texans, saved themselves fromremaining winless. The following teams have yet to win this season:

* ATL Falcons (0-5)
* NYG Giants (0-5)
* NYJ Jets (0-5)

Maybe they turn things around this week? Pending any changes because of COVID-19/Coronavirus or some other complication(s), here are some of this week's games:

* HOU Texans at TEN Titans
* CIN Bengals at IND Colts
* ATL Falcons at MIN Vikings
* WAS Football Team at NYG Giants
* BAL Ravens at PHI Eagles
* CLE Browns at PIT Steelers
* CHI Bears at CAR Panthers
* DET Lions at JAX Jaguars
* NYJ Jets at MIA Dolphins
* LAR Rams at SF 49ers (SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
* KC Chiefs at BUF Bills <<< moved up to Monday
* ARI Cardinals at DAL Cowboys (MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)

(BYE WEEK TEAMS: Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Seattle)

We will be halfway through the month of October with these games. Still a lot of season to go at this point.

Enjoy this week's games!

THIS JUST IN...

Le'Veon Bell has found a new home. He's heading to the Kansas City Chiefs. Le'Veon Bell goes from the currently 0-5 New York Jets to the 4-1 Kansas City Chiefs.

According to something I read on ESPN's Bottom Line, the Baltimore Ravens' defensive coordinator, Don "Wink" Martindale, was upset that they allowed the Cincinnati Bengals to successfully kick a field goal to avoid being shut out. So the Bengals seem so bad to this guy that they should have shut them out? Sounds like greed. NEWS FLASH, Baltimore- you still won the game! This almost sounds like in baseball of someone complaining one should have a perfect game or a no-hitter going into the final inning only to have it broken up with a base hit (or issue a walk in a Perfect Game bid). All of this just sounds foul.

I basically popped in here to talk about La'Veon Bell, but I wanted to make note of the Bengals at Ravens game also.

Ex-NFL player Rocky Boiman is one of the guys who covers sports on the radio in Cincinnati. His guess as to why Martindale was angry was because maybe there was a stipulation in his contract of a bonus in case of a shutout. And the Bengals kicking the field goal ruined that.

It's Sunday. Are you ready for some NFL football? Hopefully your favorite team(s) will win this week (unless your beloved team is on a Bye week). Enjoy the action today and tonight!
