International break is pretty much done apart from a few qualifiers from North/Central America on Thursday.

So the international break is now over, we are now at the business end of the season with so much still to play for.

Here are this weekend's games.

Saturday.
Brighton v Norwich
Burnley v Man City
Chelsea v Brentford
Leeds v Southampton
Liverpool v Watford (12.30 BT)
Man United v Leicester (5.30 Sky)
Wolves v Aston Villa

Sunday.
Tottenham v Newcastle (4.30 Sky)
West Ham v Everton (2pm Sky)

Monday.
Crystal Palace v Arsenal (8pm Sky)

There is one covid re-arranged game next week and its Burnley v Everton on Wednesday in a big game at the bottom.

Liverpool 2-0 Watford
Wolves 2-1 Villa
Leeds 1-1 Southampton
Chelsea 1-4 Brentford
Burnley 0-2 City
Brighton 0-0 Norwich
Man United 1-1 Leicester

That really was the score at Stamford Bridge! Rudiger gave Chelsea the lead but then Brentford went on a madness with Erikson getting his first goal for the club, Janelt getting two and Wissa getting the other, Liverpool weren't at their best and Watford had their chances but Liverpool got the win, routine win for City, United and Leicester draw was probably a fair result, its a bit of a blow to United's top four hopes though.

By all accounts we were outplayed by Brentford who really exploited our sluggish defence which has too much experience and not enough legs at times. Fair do, well done to them and it seems to put them probably safe after a poor run since mid season. 👍

Luckily we dont have Real Madrid on Wednesday. Oh wait, ... 😯

Seems like no one wants to hold claim to 5th spot (Arsenal seem to have 4th place well in their own hands).

Seems worrying when a home draw against leicester feels like a "good" result for ManU.

PS I must admit i keep checking our table position minus 12 points in case of administration. At the moment that would put us 8th just behind West ham, but still within reach of top 5 due to the closeness of the group.

Real Madrid aren't playing very well right now either. Just coming off that 4-0 thrashing at home from Barcelona, today they played 11th place Celta Vigo away and won 2-1 but the only goals Real Madrid had came from penalties. Benzema had another one saved by the keeper.

So I don't know if I would be that afraid of them right now.

West Ham 2-1 Everton
Spurs 5-1 Newcastle

A fantastic Aaron Cresswell free kick and a Jarrod Bowen strike for West Ham, Holgate got Everton's goal and they had Keane sent off in the second half for two yellows, means he will now miss the massive game v Burnley on Wednesday.

A Fabian Schar free kick gave Newcastle the lead but that lasted just a few minutes before Davies equalized for Spurs, it was quite a feisty and competitive first half but Spurs upped everything in the second half with four goals. Doherty, Son, Emerson and Berwijn all scored to make it a comfortable win for Spurs and a reality check for Newcastle.

Spurs now up to fourth on goal difference and Man United now down to seventh!

Palace 3-0 Arsenal.

So this happened tonight! Goals from Mateta and Ayew in the first half and a Zaha penalty in the second, Arsenal not at the races and stay in fifth, Palace up to ninth.

Not that there's a gap in mid table, but Crystal Palace in ninth place are TWELVE points behind Wolves in eighth....!

Well my quote certainly didn't age well. Sorry about that :(

Burnley 3-2 Everton.

Nathan Collins struck first for Burnley from a corner but two Richarlison penalties made it 1-2 at half time, the first one was a bit soft but second was correct, Everton then imploded after half time with Rodriguez and Cornet both scoring after some bad defending, Everton now just a point of relegation with a very tough run of games coming up, Burnley move up to 18th and play Norwich on Sunday, they have given themselves a big chance.

Great game, you could feel the tension just watching from your sofa!

Games this weekend.

Friday.
Newcastle v Wolves (8pm Sky)

Saturday.
Arsenal v Brighton
Aston Villa v Tottenham (5.30 Sky)
Everton v Man United (12.30 BT)
Southampton v Chelsea
Watford v Leeds

Sunday.
Brentford v West Ham
Leicester v Crystal Palace
Man City v Liverpool (4.30 Sky)
Norwich v Burnley (2pm Sky)

A couple of huge games at both ends of the table on Sunday including a potential title decider.

A few more games taking place on Sunday than usual because of teams in European action on Thursday night, West Ham drew 1-1 with Lyon in their Europa League QF first leg despite having Cresswell sent off at the end of the second half, Leicester drew 0-0 with PSV in their Conference League QF first leg.

Like all much hyped big games between the 'big 6' I feel that the game on Sunday will end up a drab draw...and this game has been hyped for months.

Newcastle 1-0 Wolves
Everton 1-0 Man United
Southampton 0-6 Chelsea
Watford 0-3 Leeds
Arsenal 0-2 Brighton
Villa 0-4 Spurs

Vital win for Everton with Gordon getting a first half goal, yet another pitiful United performance and top four is surely gone now especially after Spurs rout over Villa, Son got a hat-trick and Kulusevski got the other, Villa actually did well and will feel a bit hard done by. Another shock Arsenal defeat as they hit a bad run of form at a bad time, Spurs stay fourth and look good to keep it.

Chelsea responded to a bad week with a thumping win, Mount and Werner both getting two in that one. Newcastle and Leeds edge closer to safety with their wins.

Also the first relegation/promotion in the English professional game today - bottom club Crewe Alexandra relegated from League One after a 2-0 away defeat to second-bottom Doncaster Rovers.

Some people were tipping Man United to make a title challenge this season, it couldn't be much further from reality as this season has been a ****ing disaster!

Norwich 2-0 Burnley
Leicester 2-1 Palace
Brentford 2-0 West Ham
Man City 2-2 Liverpool.

Brilliant game between City and Liverpool, De Bruyne and Jesus with City's goals with Jota and Mane scoring for Liverpool, City were better team in first half but Liverpool better at the start of the second, great quality on display and it was a great advert for the Premier League

The relegation battle takes another turn as Norwich beat Burnley, Norwich still seven points from safety having played a game more than Everton though, comfortable wins for Brentford and Leicester and Dewsbury-Hall scored scored a banger for Leicester.

I've just caught sight of this Ten Hag character (Deca-Witch?), and he looks like Guardiola and Dyche had a baby.

So a quick mention about the football schedule over the Easter weekend.

Its the FA Cup semi finals on Saturday and Sunday, there are Premier League games taking place this weekend but obviously not as many with four games on Saturday and two on Sunday. There are six league games taking place next week including Liverpool v Man United and Chelsea v Arsenal.

There are Football League and Vanarama National League games tomorrow and on Easter Monday.

A little surprised to see this news but I guess after not getting anything from the Norwich game the decision makers must have went into panic mode.

Shocked and surprised about Dyche, never thought he would get sacked and its a bit of a joke to be honest as they should've given him a bit more time and money to spend, timing of it is strange too.

It's because he's off to manage Manchester United under his "Ten Hag" identity.

Scunthorpe have been relegated to the National League after a 72 year spell in the Football League.

Fulham can get promoted back to the Premier League with a win over Derby tonight.
