Chaz just needs to knock the red mirrors off.

Ideally. Black mirrors and wheels on both WAU cars.

And you're right about the rims on Le Brocq's car. Shame because that's my favorite part of it.

So.... Whincup is retiring after this season and replacing Roland Dane as T8 team principal. Definitely not news I was expecting to hear today.

Yeah, I was expecting Whincup to hang around for at least a year of Gen 3. Tony Quinn buying a majority stake of T8 as well. Big changes.

I can almost see Giz jumping ship. Just because...

Anyway, would be nice if Quinn has enough pull to get Supercars at Highlands Motorsport Park. Would be nice to run the Gen 3 cars there.

As for the recent Courtney and Waters liveries, I like those. Will look better in 2022.

I don't want to sound like a sour puss but this has just made my day. I will not miss him in the slightest because he's a total flog and a **** bloke who I have never rated. I know he's the most successful driver in Supercars/ATCC history but that doesn't mean anything to me. He's had his time, he's proven himself and it's time for someone else to step up to the plate.

This off season has probably been the least interested I’ve ever been towards the V8s unfortunately, but the 888 news definitely piqued my interest.

I don’t really see any standout contenders for Whincup’s seat though, no one that really fits the 888 mold in my mind. They do have Broc Feeney in Super 2 this year but he’ll only be 19 by the end of the year, so quite young for 888.

I can't see T8 putting Broc in the #88 either. As talented as he is, he's coming into only his second season of S2. Think it's way too early to promote him to the main game at this point. Not sure what his contract situation is but Pye springs to mind, given his past relationship with them.

A new addition this year. The drivers surname on the windscreen. Not sure it's not necessary but I can live with it. Though it might look at bit cluttered come Bathurst if they put both names on there.

And hey, @FPV MIC. The orange wheels are actually there! Guessing it's only for the test though.

and one is Tickfords!

I bet Tim Edwards is impressed. Especially when they tried so hard to get a fourth car on the grid this year.

Would be nice to see someone new jump into the series. But I'm guessing Tickford will get their old REC back and either MSR or Blanchard will get the other.

For me personally I hope it's Blanchard (another Ford on the grid ftw :D). MSR already have two REC's and if they get another one it will only skew the numbers further in GM's direction.

As much as I'd like to see a team like WAU team up with someone like BJR and bring a new manufacturer in I just can't see anyone wanting to join. If the stars aligned like I'd like there'd be 10 Fords (TR-4, DJR-2, KGR-2, BRT-2), 10 Camaros (T8-2, EM-2, T18-2, MSR-2, TS-2) and 6 Goggomobils (or whatever they may be :D, WAU-2 or even expand to 4 and have a 28 car grid, BJR-4).

I don't see the problem.

Remember an article on Speedcafe last year where Barry Ryan stated that Erebus would be interested in whatever WAU are doing. So that might be an option. (Edit: Found it.)

But yeah, you're right though. Would imagine that if there was another manufacturer coming, we would probably would have heard about it by now.

I remember that article now too, and that would be a better option considering their already established ties, especially if another two car GM team went with them as well. I just chose BJR because it was easier to make the numbers work. :)

Looking forward to seeing them!

Edit: Hmmm.

Supercars insists the design of the next generation Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro racers is well advanced, with prototypes set to begin track trials in the middle of this year.

However, there is a growing feeling among many teams that the Gen3 project is running too late for comfortable introduction in 2022.

At best, they fear they will be forced into an intensive build program over the off-season that will send costs soaring, negating one of the primary reasons for the change.

Supercars’ stated aim is to reduce the price of a car by 30 per cent, reducing from $650,000-$700,000 to under $500,000.

But the latest estimate is that the new cars – including detuned V8s – will cost at least $500,000 and up to $650,000 for a premium package.

There is a push to delay Gen3 until 2023 for a more orderly and cost-efficient transition.

Nothing new for the DJR livery.

Same with Jack Smith's ride. I was expecting maybe something a little bit different from DJR, with Penske gone but I suppose it comes to down what Shell wants in the end.

Maybe if it was all red. Not that it would have to look like the Sierra livery, but all red or all yellow(would be different) with yellow or red stripes and white highlights.

The video doesn’t mention the huge backlog of full races that have also been made available, for free, worldwide on YouTube.
Just finished watching a race from the1997 Mallala round. Ahhh good times, even if we didn't get home until 10pm.

This is actually a massively awesome surprise for me, I've never exactly been a follower, but I would've liked to check this series out to some extent ever since seeing the inaugural TCR Australia season. Without this, I would've been stuck with very incomplete, fan-uploaded archives that are doomed to only exist temporarily at the mercy of the organizers.

Yes, I see a huge amount of them in my YouTube subscription feed right now. :P

Edit: For anyone that is interested, buying the SuperView season pass on their website is about $5 cheaper than paying the monthly fee on YouTube.

👍

Will be nice to revisit the late '90s/early '00s races. Hopefully though, they add some stuff later than 2014 at some stage. There's a certain 2018 Albert Park race that I wouldn't mind watching again. :P

As an Adelaide native, that particular round stood out to me. I was young and pretty uninterested in motor racing during those days, so I never got to experience the races at Mallala.

That's unfortunate. It really was a great little track, and the wait in the carpark to get out was made very pleasurable for us as many of the same people frequented the kink just before the Northern Hairpin every year. We'd all sit around in the carpark having a beer or two, cooking our favourite bbq meats and talking (light hearted) smack about the days racing. I've been to Winton a couple of times too and it's very similar, they both have that great laid back country atmosphere.
