2023 NFL Season

Tonight is the first Thursday Night Football of October 2023. If the Chicago Bears don't win at the Washington Commanders tonight, the Bears may strongly need to consider firings or personnel changes.

Chicago sits on a 14-game losing streak stemming back to last season. In case you're wondering, the longest-ever regular season losing streak is held by the Chicago Cardinals, who lost 29 straight games between 1942 through 1945. After the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, Tampa Bay lost 26 straight games between 1976 and 1977.

Enjoy tonight's game!

What a tragic night for football.

I remember last season when the Bears and Commies played on Thursday night and the score was 12-7. Why did the NFL think we wanted that again? I guess at the very least we're not going to watch Wentz fail to get 100 yds.

Sad news indeed. A true legend, even if he broke cheeks on national television 🤣

If the Bears hold on and win, I'm waiting for the post-game interviews with the guys saying things like, "We've been thinking about Dick all night."

I'm guessing last night's performance was in loving memory of Dick Butkis, as the Chicago Bears cruised at the Washington Commanders 40-20 last night. I'm sure he'd be proud of the way the 2023 Chicago Bears ended this brutal losing streak.

Since it is now Sunday for me and since we have a game to be played in London, England, UK; I welcome you to another Sunday of NFL action! The day will be started later today as the Jacksonville Jaguars will take on the Buffalo Bills. Jacksonville handled Atlanta last week in London. Can the Jags of "Sacksonville" tame the game Buffalo Bills? We shall see.

Enjoy today's action, including the Cowboys at 49ers Sunday Night game!

What's the over/under that the Fins will score 50+ on my G-men? Actually, wait- I don't want to know 🤣 😭

It was a relatively low-scoring game in Atlanta. Houston snagged the lead at the 2-minute warning of the 4th quarter and scored an extra point to go up 19-18, but the Atlanta Falcons' strong 2nd half ended up with a "walk-off" field goal kick to win it 21-19. Houston falls to 2-3 on the season. Defense just appeared to be worn out in the 2nd half, helping Atlanta to take this one away from the Texans.

Up next for Houston: back home to take on the New Orleans Saints.

Congratulations to all winners from this week! Great shame my team won't be among the winners this week.

[OMISSION] CJ Stroud now has the most pass attempts all-time in NFL history without an interception making about 177 attempts. Great story, but doesn't mean 🤬 when your team loses another game, albeit late.

Without the turnovers, it would've been 52 points before the 4th quarter, on track for another 70-burger. I need to get some tickets if they're gonna keep lighting it up at home like this.

The Bengals remembered how to win! The defense was hit and miss, but Burrow was back to himself without a bother from his calf. Chase set a franchise record with 15 catches. That went along with 192 yards and 3 TD's, including a 63 yard bomb.

Also, with Pittsburgh coming back to win late against Baltimore, Cincy is only a game back now in the division.

All I'm saying is... I'm not doing power rankings anymore. This season is crazy so far.

It continues to feel weird to watch a Lions game and not have the constant threat of dread. I get Carolina isn't a good football team, but that's exactly the kind of game the "Same Old Lions" would've completely botched and lost.

Next week will be a tough game against the Bucs and one the Lions could very much lose if they don't have their crap together. I'm also slightly annoyed at the 4:25 start time and that the Bucs will be wearing the creamsicle jerseys, which are the worst jerseys known to man.

Also, next week is going to be an absolute bloodbath for games. The Broncos are at the Chiefs, the Panthers are at the Dolphins, the Eagles are taking on the Jets, and the Giants get the Bills in prime time. Lots of really good teams playing average to terrible teams. We also get the Toliet Bowl 2.0: The Electric Poopaloo with the Bears v. Vikings. The Pats v. Raiders should be positively awful as well.

Well, Joey D, there are uniforms much worse than the "Creamsicle" uniforms of Tampa Bay. I need not remind you of the Bumblebee uniforms of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Those are SURELY the worst ever. Anyhow...

Packers at Raiders TONIGHT!

From the Frozen Tundra to the bright lights of Las Vegas, Green Bay will try to stay above .500 as they will meet the 1-3 Las Vegas Raiders.

  • GB Packers at LV Raiders
  • FAVORED: LV (-2)
  • OVER/UNDER: 45.5 points

Enjoy tonight's game if you'll be watching and/or following!

Jets MIGHT be lucky to lose by single digits, but they have no chance to win.

That one hurt. Playing stand off defense when the falcons just needed FG range has me scratching my head. The only time the offense looked comfortable was the last drive which led to the TD. Falcons defense though was strong.

Really need to improve on the offensive line so we can have a run game. For years it has been a problem and doesn't look like it will ever get better.

Steelers may be the worst division leaders in a long time - loving it. Matt Canada is definitely offensive but he ain't doing any coordinating. At least we have the Picks, hopefully that combo is around for a long time.

You sound like a Jets fan 🤣 Don't even give them a chance. I think they can win but they have play a really good game in all phases and not take stupid penalties. And Zach Wilson can't bone head mistakes like he did yesterday. Besides it's division rival sometimes strange things happen in those games. Usually they happen to the Jets but they should accumulated enough strange things that sometimes things will go their way.
Watching them last night I thought Zach Wilson by default won the battle if Wilsons. That last pass he threw was terrible he should throw it out the outside shoulder it didn't help that Garrett Wilson was held but hey bad teams don't get calls.
Wilson has looked much better as he played but they really need to feed Hall. They also need to resign Bruce Huff that dude is quick off the snap. Also it was good see Quincy Williams continue his great so far season. They play the Eagles next and that's gonna be tough but we'll see what happens. I feel like the Jets have a glimmer of hope.
So instead being the typical cynical fan of the Just End The Seasons I will get by on hopium😊

The Lions game should get flexed to primetime. Nobody wants to watch the Giants AGAIN. Blech.

I have to agree with you. I'd rather my team lose as quietly as possible 🤣

Five out of the 17 games have been completed. It's time to welcome Week 6 of NFL football. I will now highlight some of the upcoming games this week. Here goes:

BYE WEEK TEAMS: Green Bay, Pittsburgh

* The Kansas City Chiefs will welcome the Denver Broncos to host Thursday Night Football this week.

* AFC North and AFC South will clash in... London? Yep. The Tennessee Titans take on the Baltimore Ravens at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in lovely London, England, UK.

* The Houston Texans think dey gon' beat dem Saints. After losing late on a game-winning field goal in Atlanta, Houston will try to improve to 3-3 before their Bye Week when New Orleans comes to H-Town.

* After an emotional win last week, the Chicago Bears will try to make it back-to-back wins when NFC North foes, the Minnesota Vikings, come to Chicago.

* The Carolina Panthers have been tamed all season long, and Omnis's Miami Dolphins hope to keep the Panthers down when the two teams clash this Sunday afternoon in Miami.

* Five teams tried to figure out the San Francisco 49ers, and all five have failed. Are the Cleveland Browns the next victim of the Niners? The Browns will definitely try in Cleveland!

* What about the other Ohio NFL team? Well, Dolph Drago's Cincinnati Bengals will welcome the Pacific Northwest's only NFL team- the Seattle Seahawks. Cats playing with birds.

* Blitz24's New York Jets will try to ground the Philadelphia Eagles in the shadow of New York City. NFC East meets AFC East.

* Joey D's Detroit Lions will head down south to meet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to our fellow GTPlaneteer, the Bucs will wear their "Creamsickle" uniforms.

* Sunday Night Football this week is a battle of New York. It's Jump Ace's New York Giants at a New York team that actually plays in New York state- the Buffalo Bills.

* Your Monday Night Football game this week happens in SoCal as the Los Angeles Chargers host the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas didn't do too well last week at San Francisco, so what can the Cowboys do at the Chargers?

Plenty of other games on tap, of course, but I wanted to highlight on these. Enjoy this week's action!

You don't really get a full idea of how a team performs until about 25% of the season has been played. Obviously, the more games played, the more we know about a team and its players. We can't assume anything this early in the season. We've seen teams start strong then fall apart like Cinderella at midnight. We've seen teams get on brutal starts but get hot and stay hot to make the postseason. Some teams... well, they are here-and-there and teeter between making the playoffs or having to settle for next season.

Unless you are confident a team just isn't going to go anywhere this season, you still stick with your team(s). I'm not confident in my 2023 Houston Texans, but I still will want them to win. My Texans are basically in a five-game stretch where we are playing against every NFC South team before heading back to AFC play at Dolph Drago's Bengals in early-mid November.

Right now, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers are perfect- 5-0. Both the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs are 4-1 on the season. The New England Patriots and Denver Broncos each have 1-4 records. The Carolina Panthers have yet to win a game this season.

All I'm saying is... the season is still young. There's still plenty of time to get things together or keep the good times rolling. Lace up, suit up, and go play some football.

What's hilarious is that the Bears are ahead of the Vikings.

Denver Broncos. Kansas City Chiefs. Thursday Night Football. Let's. Get. It.

Enjoy tonight's game!

The sad state of affairs continue for Denver, as they fell 19-8 at the Kansas City Chiefs. According to ESPN, this is Kansas City's 16th straight win over the Denver Broncos. Patrick Mahomes is undefeated against the Broncos. Denver can't buy a break...

That jackass Sean Payton hoodwinked everyone, even Amazon/NFL schedulers into thinking that they would actually make for a good football game.

What's funny is we used to call them the Same Old Lions (SOL) so that makes Denver the SOBs.

But it's hard to be Browns terrible. You'd have to give a guaranteed contract to a potential rapist who then decides he no longer wants to play by feigning a shoulder injury. Seriously, you can't convince me otherwise that Watson just isn't quiet quitting the Browns at this point.
