24 Hours of Nürburgring - June 21st-22nd 2014

The safety car is way more stupid than Viper driver. They placed in the middle of the road right after a blind turn = safety idiots.

It was a double yellow, speed limit 60kpH, no overtaking or anything. It was the Viper's fault period.

Race was under yellow and everyone was slowed, how is it the safety car's fault the driver in the Viper didn't slow the hell down?

You never place at 0 km/h right after a blind spot because there's always someone not immediately realizing it is a caution.

The whole sector was under a double yellow, I'm not going to an extend and say that the intervention car was standing at a questionable position, that however doesn't change the fact, that the Viper was going way too fast and was trying to overtake, basically ignoring the flags. Titus Dittmann himself (who didn't drove) admitted, that his driver did a big mistake.

It's not a safety car...

Do you understand how racing at the 'Ring works?
Whatever it is there's no need to add a unnecessary obstacle to the road right after a blind spot. They could have placed somewhere else.

No... it's an intervention car's job to park up next to a marshal post/accident site. The drivers are all warned several marshal points before about the IC being there, and an accident being up ahead. There's no excuse for blatantly ignoring all the warning that everyone else adhered to.

He did a mistake because probably he was not fully aware of the caution (radio and instruments could not work properly at this stage of the race). That's why placing car obstacles to the road is a bad idea.
Then tell me, where?
Not in a blind spot.

All the other cars managed to pay attention to the yellows and giant boards being waved at them.
Not in a blind spot.
He doesn't get the choice where to go. If the accident is in a blind spot, so be it.

It's not a blind spot, and also Schall has two eyes, the whole sector was under a double yellow, cars in front of him were all slowing down/slow. It was solely Schall's fault!

How is everyone enjoying the 24H race so far. Some nice battles going along here.
Been up all night but had to catch a hour and a half nap to keep my self going to the end. It gets hard to follow the commentary this year, the RLM guys are not that interesting to listen for some reason.

Can I disagree with you? Can I?

You could, but that doesn't change the fact that you're wrong, because:
a) you don't seem to know, what a double yellow means
b) because there are no real blind spots at Schwedenkreuz
c) it's the intervention cars job to secure the crash site
d) it's the Schall's fault, there is no discussion there.

That's questionable because if you park there it doesn't make the place any safer. Park 20 mt ahead.
If people adhere to the rules (like everyone bar the Viper did), there's no problem with it. Why are you trying to defend the Viper? The driver's already been referred to get his license removed.

Also, parking 20 metres ahead won't solve your argument.

I don't care about Viper driver, I'm saying the marshall car should chose a safer place before to park. And I'm not going to repeat it since I would like to watch the race. Move on.
