400PP World Compact Car Race

Tested the 2000gt, the top speed like you said is very good for its weight!

easily beaten the 2nd grid at 295pp

then beaten the 3rd grid at 289pp

289pp for 11:17.967 time.
2,429,865 cr with 200% login bonus
had to drive dirty for the first and last car but the rest was fairly clean without touching cars.

I was surprised i could win in Eifel Kart track with a standard BMW Z4 as suggested & done by you ppl here. I tried with Mini Cooper S, Peugeot 207 etc but could not win it.

AWESOME been running and fine tuning every eligible car on Nurburgring. there are some real gems... on of my favs is the maxed out Kharmann ghia. Its the closest to an old 911 in the game!! my prize was a 2cv. ....

Did the Ring with a 66' Beetle

152 pk
980 kg

Great fun, feels like a classic Porsche.

I agree. Makes a potentially dull event a lotta fun, the Beetle is very satisfying through the corkscrew at Laguna Seca - on at 370pp 116hp/980kg/comfort medium! I won a '72 Life.

lol just wanted to try this out allways loved the ring and small cars.....

in the description it says 370pp will double your payment, okay i go look at the OCD

seeing a nice MR2 1600... around 350pp. then i hit the track thinking i better upgrade it just alittle. buying the ECU, Racing Filter and the CAT convert gives me 369pp, thinking this will be a close finish.....

im in first place at the right turn just before the karussell :/

EDIT:
Finished 30secs ahead of the AI

Gonna have a go with a total stock Mini Cooper 1.3i 318pp now.

are you serious? i barely won in a Z4 with 387pp

Great, now PD is forcing us to us the training wheels. Turning into an arcade racer more and more nowadays. Boy I tell you, between this and the problems I having with the new update, I'm really thinking of retiring this game more and more.

I know some of you may not like my comments about SRF being forced on, and you don't have to, but I don't think we should be forced to use any aid. It should be up to each person on how they play the game, not PD telling us how. SRF hardly corresponds with "The Real Driving Simulator". There is nothing real about using SRF. Quite the opposite actually.

you are exactly right, i hate it cornering speeds on Eifel are ridiculously slow, SRF should never be forced on

I'm tempted to give up on this. I was looking forward to trying to do them all in a stock Toyota 2000GT but after getting silver on a couple of them I found the SRF getting on my nerves. I'm trying to improve my driving skills and this just isn't helping. I'm trying to ignore it and drive as I would normally but the knowledge that it's almost impossible screw up, whatever I do, is always in the back of my mind. If this carries on I'm giving up on seasonal races altogether. Which is a shame because I love events like this one.

Won them all except Eifel. Tried every car possible and drove as perfect as possible. 3rd is the best I can do so I'm giving up on this one. I'll trade someone for a 0 ticket later. The first 2 cars always stay over 1/2 a lap ahead so it's obviously not doable and not worth the anger and frustration.

There was no problem winning first four races with Mazda Roadster '07, for Eifel I neded a couple of attemps, managed to do it in Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, on first place was 206 S16, and lap times were consistent on 1:31:xxx.
My prize was Corsa Comfort 1.4.

This Eiffel race really depends on the rabbit. I had to run sub 1:28 laps to win. I couldn't get the Suzuki to get around that fast. The rabbit I chased was the ford focus. I used a Renault and needed all 400 pp to do it.
The 2000 gt was fun for the million plus on the 'Ring!

The Alfa Giulia TZ2 racing at 370pp on the Ring is really fun. The car at this PP doesn't have a lot of horsepower so you have have to drive the car hard through the corners and keep the momentum up. This produces a lot of four wheel drifting.

This is old style car racing before fancy suspensions and wide tires glued the car to the road. The Alfa handles very true so you can slide and recover. The ring has lots of challenging sections so it is a fun ten minutes of driving. Nicely rewarding at $1Million credits.

I struggled with this one too. All I can say is keep going, get to really know the track and brake early for all the tight corners:tup:

Out of curiousity, after I'd completed these races, I went back and re-did Eifel with the BMW Z4 (as mentioned a few posts back)... won it first attempt, by quite a decent margin. 👍

The BMW was my car of choice at first since I easily won the first 4 races with it but hasn't done better than 4th place no matter what I do. What's your setup?

Did you try the TVR V8S '91?

I managed to do it at 380pp with this car (see here), taking the lead about half way around the final lap.

One last try with the 2000GT

287PP
2,447,095 cr

with 11:17 laptime, had to bump the first opponent and disintegrate the leader at the last curve to be able to win. :)

I just finished all the races now.Eifel was very tricky got the mini as the rabbit and using the BMW Z4 had to run 1.26.5 laps to win by like 2 seconds. It took about 5 trys as I had to learn the track and braking points. In comparison I won Rome in toyota 2000GT de tuned to 325pp.

What mods have you put on the GT '67? I'm at the lowest on the power limiter, so I'm debating what parts to take off to reduce the PP.:nervous:

The BMW Z4 can be totally standard.

As stated above, no setup required. I ran mine without even an oil change. Just switched and raced. I lost my first attempt at Eiffel to a Civic, by .080 seconds too by the way. The Z4 runs really well.

I added no part, the higher the power limiter can be, the better.
If we can trust the data... the power will drop more on top end when you reduce teh power on the limiter, and its almost always better to keep more hp than torque in this game minus some cars that have a lot of turbo lag...

I was running 200kg ballast for the 289pp run, for the 287pp i used:

ballast 160 set to 12
ride height -25/-25
spring rate: 14.0/12.0
extension: 4/4
compression: 4/3
anti roll: 2/1
camber 1.8/1.8
toe 0.00/0.00

diff
preload 5
accel 30
brake 8

brake bias 5/4
power limiter 84.1%

gear:
do this,
-final ratio complee right (5000)
-top speed complete left (180) kmh..
-1st gear complete left
-2nd gear complete left
-5th gear 0.821

then final ratio to 4.619

the set thos gear:

1st 2.143
2nd 1.550
3rd 1.208
4th 0.989
5th 0.821
final ratio 4.619 already done..
top speed 180 already done.. it should say 222kmh on top right of the screen..

I note at least 3 rabbits, the Mini is too fast and too far ahead. I was able to beat the Peugeot 207 and also the slowest rabbit, the Civic SiR. I never noticed a race with a Ford rabbit. It is odd, you have to cut the rabbits lead by 13 seconds per lap, a large margin in an 87 second lap. I used the Civics dialed in for that 415 PP Civic Seasonal, detuned the engines to 400, the EP '04 seemed quickest. Eifel was a little tougher than Autumn Mini.

For Eifel, I used the BMW M '98. Pretty stock, just the non-PP upgrades and Sport Exhaust to get it to 399 or so. It has all the guts you need but I would suggest raising the final drive ratio to about 129 or so (top right indicator). The needle is bouncing on the end of the long straight but the rest is OK. You need the acceleration to get close. My times were around 1:27, nothing better. I guess it depends on the pack but 1:27 should win. I turned TC down to 1 but, as always, cranked ABS up to 10. Didn't win by much, only .214, but it was fun.
For anyone else, I used the Hommell for three and the BMW for the first one, short Autumn, I think. The BMW is perfect for the short courses, lots of zoom and great handling with a bit of slide. Good luck! (Didn't win much, just a Daihatsu but the races were fun.)

Won all with the BMW Z4 except the Eiffel race. Tried it twice so far and came in second both times. The rabbit was the Mini 07 in the first attempt. Not sure about the second attempt. The Nurburgring was the easiest for me to win for some strange reason. Despite the fact I did a little off roading.

Thanks iainoflo85 for your advice. Will try the Eiffel again tonight.

There's something wrong with 1991 premium Eunos Roadster. Here are some numbers:

PP: 400
Power: 248 HP (supercharged, fresh oil)
Weight: 940 kg
Aero: 0/20

So, it's very light, very powerful for a 400PP racer and yet, you can still attach a spoiler to improve handling. Obviously, it's real wheel drive. As for setup, I went for this one and what a joy to drive it was. Really easy win in all five races.

Went into my garage for something different, and came out with a Daihatsu Storia x4. Tuned it up to around 170Bhp and added some ballast to get 400pp. Did a basic setup and adjusted the torque split and custom diffs.

Easy wins for the first four races, but haven't managed to get sub-1:30 times at the kart track so best is third and 15 seconds adrift. Another great little Daihatsu -and it will tune up much more than this. I haven't used it outside this seasonal though, so I can't tell how good it is without the stifling SRF.

Thought I'd give an old school tuned Mini a go at Eiffel - this was great fun at 140BHP and ballast to over 800Kg (more power > low weight for the PP of course). Loved chucking the the cheeky Mini about but couldn't do any better than the Storia, even though it has much less understeer than the 4WD.
