In the land of the DS3, the wheels reign king. Can't get anything lower than a 1:31 even with a tuned Series 1. Hate this car!

Wow. I just did a 1:25.345 (P50 worldwide) with the Shelby with a 550 PP suspension tune. Top 10 with a better setup may be possible.

Gold with 350Z '03, C7 Stingray, RX8 TypeS, Viper GTSR Concept, Viper Srt10 '03, 86 Concept.

RX8 is decent enough. Good speed and handling. Not going anywhere near the Shelby though.

The Vipers gave up a lot of horsepower to get to 480pp, but still pull like crazy thanks to all that torque.

The Vette felt really sloppy on CS tires. Took a few laps to keep it off the barriers.

The 86 Concept is pretty quick. Not really stable though.

The 350Z was a decent drive. It is pretty stable, and quick enough on the straights.

Anyone try the RX-8? I feel like it could be pretty quick. 👍

Got a 1:24,561 after a few laps, but i think a 24,2 is the limit for me.

I'm sure the Mazdas can both do 1:23 laps in the right hands.

The gap between them and the Shelby is around half a second.

big jump in time there kossie, nice one,im doing better in the 500 compared to this one
Yeah I drive a couple hours in the RX-7 and after that I picked up the Shelby and change the tune a little. Learn the track also helps me.

I find the Shelby to be a good car. I use DS3 and get gold regularly.

I like to drive cars like the STRATOS and BTR and the Shelby seems quite tame to me.

If you prefer stable cars I find the RX7 Spirit R, RX8 Type S, and the M3 CSL all easy to gold. 350Z '03 is another stable car but slower than those 3. Plenty of good tunes for those to try out.

The top 10 is full of controller users. I don't even have a great right hand as far as full function and I get it done. Grab the RX7, just make some laps, gold should come soon enough.

I just can't get a good feel for this one, esp. Turns 1 and 2, and can't see where I can find another 2.5 seconds. Yes Series 1 was good but a fully tuned up GT86 '12 was slightly better.

Previous 480PP time trials include 478 CS 67.5 secs Tsukuba (E30 BMW M3 real time) 478 CS 86 secs Rome Reverse, 480 CS 98.75 secs Motegi East, 478 CS 138.75 secs Grand Valley Speedway, 480 CS 94 secs Deep Forest, and many more with SH tires. No problem with them.

Felt the same as you the first time I use the Shelby. My first try was 1:29. Gold, satisfied, next...

The day after, I tried some tune from others. The car was more stable, a few laps later I did 1:28.
Another day pass, decided to watch replay to find where I was loosing time. Practice, and 1:27.
Was finally enjoying driving this car for the first time. With some tweak to the suspension for my driving style,
few laps later... 1:26.1xx

Now I'm going for the 1:25. I know it's easy to say but. practice, practice and practice...
Now I love this car :)

Another night, another group of cars with gold dust in their grilles.

Viper GTS '02, BMW Z8, M3 GTR, Maserati Gran Turismo, Mazda Miata '07, Mustang Boss 302.

Another Viper? Why not? :mischievous: They have ridiculous grip, and the low rpm acceleration is absurd.

The Z8 drives similar to an MR car. It was a lot of fun here for me.

The M3 GTR has a hint of that feeling too. Very enjoyable, and faster than Z8.

The Maserati will almost gold itself, very quick and forgiving imo.

The '07 Miata was easy to gold surprisingly. I have to try some older ones now.

The Mustang was not a happy car with the stock 54/46 weight balance. A little rear ballast for 51/49 and it came alive.

The invisible walls are making me run more conservative compared to the Apricot hill trial. I have several more cars deep into silver that would be gold already if we could use the whole track.

EDIT: I have a pinched nerve in my back, :( and this is a good distraction from the pain.:ouch:

So I pushed some more cars to gold here.

Corvette Grand Sport '96, C6 Corvette Z06, Pontiac Solstice Coupe Concept, Chrysler Crossfire.

Both Corvettes were easy to gold. The Z06 especially so.

The Solstice is worth a drive also, stable and powerful.

The Crossfire was easy also. Just too quiet for me.

That is all for tonight. :banghead: :ouch:

LM7325 idea about trying different cars got me into it. So this is what I've done...
Note: I'm playing with a DS3.

Gold cars only.

Toyota FT-1 (for those having trouble to gold this TT, not the fastest but easiest car to drive)
BMW M4 Coupe '14
TVR Griffith 500 '94
SRT Challenger SRT8 '08
Toyota Supra RZ '97
Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track '13
Infiniti Coupe Concept '06

BLAST FROM THE PAST!! Gold too ;)

For those, only setting was to lower the height, front lower than the rear and negative toe in front.
Drivetrain, 8 - 20 - 20

Caterham Seven Fireblade '02 (fun in the park)
AC Cars 427 S/C '66 (felt better than the Shelby Cobra)
Dodge Challenger R/T '70 (gave me a hard time...)
Plymouth AAR Cuda 340 Six Barrel '70 (add all aero parts, surprising handling capacity for that kind of car)
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L46 350(C3) '69 (disappointed, was expecting more of it)
Shelby GT350R '65 (easier to handle than i thought))
Toyota 2000GT '67 (My jaw drop to the floor... Just enough powerful to slide in cornering, wasn't expecting much of it, fun drive)

I tried this on with the Plymouth Superbird...

...I don't know what I expected with that.

I think this is what you expected...

Then you should remove the flat floor. :P

The RX-7 won't be able to beat the Shelby, but it's very competitive in this pp range.
Got a 1:24,486 yesterday which is good enough for P14 at the moment.

Thanks a lot Finaly I got Gold 1:29:624 very good tune I'll still try to beat my time
A questiom did you install a Custon rear wing I can't reach 100 down force with original one only 80 ?

Yes you need to install a custom rear wing to get 100 downforce.

I find driving a lot of different cars helps me improve. With the more difficult ones I find new lines to take.

Then I can return to the Shelby and put that knowledge to work. The '97 Z28 showed me a quicker way through the esses for example.

it's a good idea;)

Who knew a Toyota X Runner was so fast.:odd:
I lost count of all the cars I pushed to under 1:30 today.:embarrassed:

I only found one car to stockyard forever so far this time.

Nismo GTR LM Road Car. Did they swap the RB engine with a 5.9l cummins? Seriously, what is up with the weight distribution? Wings should add grip as you increase the setting, as far as I can tell they do not on this car. Instead, they just make it so a Caterham can pull you in on the straights. I am sure it is able to gold with the right driver. :P

Detuned the HP only of the Shelby Series one and left everything else stock so no suspension, trans etc. just got a gold with a slidely last sector which had me yelling "Woooooow! That was close!" I made it though not by much but still.

I'll be back in a car from the randomiser. Looks like I'll be back in the special AE86 then. This time it'll be all about balance ;)

Well I kinda got close... 1:30.458 :/

Absolutely amazing tune! I only had around 3 laps before I had to get off but I got a 1:26.160 which was quite a sloppy lap! How do you work out tunes so well? 👍
Anyways heres a lap that was quite far ahead of my best until...
