well... i could not be more pissed off right now. :grumpy:

so much for all golds, i had 79 golds and was on my way to the 80th after a lap at the ring which i saved for tonight. However i put in the game and guess what i get a freaking "your game data is corrupted" message.

guess i will import my GT3 licenses and just start with 10,000. Oh well, maybe when i start getting tired of racing i will try and gel all golds again.

Oh man that sucks. If your restart again make sure to go into your PS2's browser and make a backup copy every few days. I guess I'm going to make one tonight.:scared: Sorry to hear that.:indiff:

CFM,
I've always been a huge fan of GT. I had the first one but got into other types of games for a while. A buddy of mine ogt the GT3 PS@ package and we played that game non stop forevr, got upto 89 percent but quit cuz we got NFSU.

Just a couple months ago I finally got a PS2 and bought GT3 used for 6 bucks! I got the PS2 for free too. I had the very first copy of GT4 sold in IA. I played it for a long time. I didnt get any golds the first time I went throguht he lisencing. They were way too hard for me and I was just anxious to get cars. Right now im sittin at 20.5% with 39 cars. I have almost 400,000cr. And I thought I was doin a good job till I got on here and read all these reviews about you guys gettin golds on all those. Crazy!

I'm jealous with ur ability to race so well. I consider myself a very good racer, but I have a very short fuse. I get very pissed off easy, and wouldnt be able to stay focused very well. Eventually I will try to get all golds, but for now im doin good on GT mode.

BTW, do you get better traction, handling and acceleration when using a race wheel instead of the normal PS2 controller? and does arcade mode count towards your game completion? And do you have any tips for the on-the-edge pro racer?

Congrats @ CFM for getting all the gold license test. I'm so far from achieve this level of driving.

I'm suprise to see that some players are having a hard time with Suzuka. I've played the game MotoGP and MotoGP 2 on xbox at very high level. I was in the Top 10 lap times for several months. So it's fair to say that I know the track by heart. I hit a silver on 2nd try without too much trouble.

It's funny because I have mostly bronze in all my license test. I will spent more time on license eventually.

the funny thing is that on my second lap i was in silver range as well, however for the life of me i could not pull in a clean lap. Towards the end i was about .300 seconds away from the gold and i had a lot of laps were i was ahead of my ghost by about .800 or so, but like i said i just messed up on turns which should have nailed easily.

However thats all over since my save got corrupetd. I was playing last night, bought myself an 89 skyline and beat the FR challenge, but i said " i have to get back to those tests and so now i have all golds on the B license again and like 4 golds on IB and i skipped all of A license (i will come back to it later).

The wheel allows finer inputs so you can be a bit more precise, but plenty of people are very fast around here with the DS2. In GT3, Arcade mode counts towards your 100% completion, in GT4 it does not. The only tips I have are practice a lot, and join the WRS (Weekly Race Series) here at GT Planet. We should be making the switch from GT3 to GT4 within a few weeks. The forum for the WRS is here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=117 Have fun with GT4.:)

omg! finally....the damn ring... too many turns to remember! but here it is:

Very, very nice. Congratulations.
I had all Golds on Prologue, but that were only 46 tests. This almost twice as much! Good thing I have the next weekend off... Come ooooon, friday!

so i suppose you can save replays to your max drive and load them onto your computer, am i right? then put them into windows movei maker and change them to .wmv? and another thing, just going off topic for a second: is it possible to record video tapes onto recordable dvds?
Like to know this too, it would be nice if we could do this with Photo's too.

PS: Do you need to put them in Movcie Maker to get the vids running?

Sure does, but take a gander at my new avatar... :sly:👍

Nice avatar...congrats all the way on the 80 golds!👍 I think I'm going to leave the writeups to the guys at Goldjunkies.com, as I see that The Missing Link is making one up. I may contribute to that project, however. I'm going to start a 80 Gold club in the main GT4 forum.:) Much easier.:sly:

Hi all and well done to the "80 Gold Club", i was just curious to lnow if anyone has gotten the 80 golds with the standard controller(DS2) as it appears most here have gained it with a DFP or DF.

Also only a couple of hours left till i get it. Australia.

Cheers 👍

Got my copy, I'm probably going to faff with arcade mode and get golds on a couple of license groups...

I notice the PS2 display cabinet in my games store has Gt4 in it already!!!

Yes, I did it with a DS2. Standard default control configuration, Manual Transmission all the way.

The one where you will really be tempted to switch controllers (or to switch the throttle to using the right stick) is Test IA-16. Without good throttle modulation, this test is very tricky. I managed to get gold, but it was a lot harder than it needed to be.

I still have the last S license test to do. Its gonna take me along time to get that one along with the last driving mission.

My first go at license tests (B) yielded 5 golds, 8 silvers and 3 bronzes. the hardest tests to get good times on I found were the guide laps (with the irritating pace car), the swiss alps 205T16 test and the tests on the hairpin of motegi East (MX-5 golded after a long time, M3 Silvered after a longer time). I'll try and get them all silver tonight, to get a prize car worthy of racing with.

Woah there... I have to disagree with those tests...

I got Silver first go on MX-5... realised time was .05 away from gold and redid it 4th try...

Got Silver in M3CSL first try by taking a really bad line and accidentally drifting all the way round!! Man that car is so flat through the bends!!!

For the 205 one I got silver 2nd try... 1st try ended up in the wall after the bend!

My hardest ones are the pace car ones...

Especially on courses that I don't know like Suzuka in A licence!!

well im on my way, I have to use a DS2 until i get my DFP in a week or so. So far i have

14gold 2 silver on B need mini pace car lap, and Dodge Viper 1000m
12Gold 4 Silver on A need A13, 14, 15 ,16
12 Gold on IB only up to IB13 atm.

EDIT!!
Gold B
Gold A
Gold IB

Lol, I spent 1 hour last night on the national B lisence test where you drive a G35 (i think, the blue skyline thing), round a left hander with a bad exit line.

I got like 4/100ths off the time about 4 times, then finally did it...

I've started from fresh (PAL) after I transferred credits and lisences... kinda ruined it for me, so I started again.
Spent about two hours getting all golds on national B lisences. The Mazda at the Motegi hairpin and the CSL at the same place got golds second time. I think the secret to them is to really brake into the apex while turning in, and get on the power as early as possible to get as much speed into the finish line.

I've got a DFP on order, currently using my DF, so should be a good workout when I get that :D

Congrats to the folks with All Gold!

I'm on my way and believe achieving the precious gold medals is and has been the best part of Gran Turismo!

Somebody help :(.

I have all gold on B,A,IB and IA except for IA-16.

Any tips for IA-16?

The most important things about IA-16 are to learn the track well and not to let the wheels spin under any circumstance. Watch the demo for the braking points for the hard left at the end of the straight, you can brake really late and still stop in time. Same thing with the left at the end of the next straight. If you're still planning on getting a DFP soon you may want to come back to this one, I'd assume it'll be easier than with the DS/2, which I have never tried with GT4.(thank god:D) You've got all gold so far, so you'll get it for sure mate.👍

BTW, when you start working on the golds for S-License, it's easy to get discouraged when you first start the laps, but the time will come off with practice.

Thanks for the advice . I will give it another real good shot today. Apart from this one and IA - 15 (which all i had to do to gold was get one clean lap). IA have been the easiest to gold.

Ive never golded any S license in GT before, but im sure i can do them, im looking forward to a few :P.

w00t i got it. within 10min i had it, i thought id do about 5 runs and then if i still couldnt get anywhere near id consult the demo, 4th or 5th run i got gold. 1:43.148 (gold is 1:43.400). never shift to 2nd, 3rd is the lowest you go.

So thats all gold in B,A,IB,IA. only S to go :mischievous:

@CFM Hi, I try will to get all golds too but I have on question. How much did your racing skill improve after you completed the licenses
