How the hell did I get stuck battling GTS cars for overall position in a GT1 car!? Is that normal?

You'll still be classified in the GT1 class. Just keep practicing. If you weren't doing 2:06's on softs, you're off pace. Just get comfortable with the car, if you need a tune you can try mine.

I'm just going to race on Sunday events from now, because I'm usually too exhausted to race on Friday, particularly in the endurance events (it's 12-3am on Friday events for me).

Thats fair. If you can race Fridays youre more than welcome.

This means the Zonda is open on Fridays.

I had a poop race on Friday. Firstly, I hadn't done any practice. I thought that when I signed into PSN I was an hour early and so would be able to get a few laps in and work out fuel and tyre deg etc, but it turns out the race is actually at 11pm GMT and not 12am GMT as advertised :banghead: Another lesson learnt

Like iownall, I got held up by braunracing for most of my first stint which was very frustrating, especially as he was in a GT1 :boggled:. I was cursing all the way...

Then, to add to that, I had several spins - mainly because I was looking at my rear view for other drivers instead of the track ahead.

And I, too, made a booboo with the tyres - I only did 17 laps on the softs. My first stint lasted only 8 racing laps. My concentration was again low due to trying to get past braunracing and I came in too early :dunce:

How I managed to get a 2nd placed class finish out of that race I don't know.
And you were right, iownall - your race was slightly worse than mine - my wheel was fine, except for the usual (though constantly frustrating) pedal flicker I get from time to time.
I've been thinking about investing in another wheel, perhaps a T500RS, or maybe just some really good pedals from ECCI or something, because this is my fourth DFGT (and my third replacement) and it's beyond a joke now.

See you Sunday.

Right sorry bout that. It was before the daylight savings when I made the poll. So the gmt time is actually an hour later than when the room opens.

Sunday Series

INTRODUCTION

Designed in 1920 by Jules de Their and Henri Langlois Van Ophem, the original triangle-shaped course used public roads between the Belgian towns of Spa, Malmedy, and Stavelot while measuring some 15km in total length. Over the years, Numerous changes made Spa the fastest open road circuit in the world, and in the final years of the old circuit, drivers could average 150 mph (241 km/h) on the circuit. The biggest change, however, saw the circuit being shortened from 14 km (9 mi) to 7 km (4 mi) in 1979.

The start/finish line, which was originally on the downhill straight before Eau Rouge, was moved to the straight before the La Source hairpin in 1981. Like its predecessor the new layout still is a fast and hilly route through the Ardennes where speeds in excess of 315 km/h (195 mph) can be reached. Perhaps the two most important turns are the Eau Rouge and Blanchimont corners, both which need to be taken flat out to maximize your top speed before the heavy braking zones.

Who will cross the line and finish first through the Ardennes? Join us today and find out!

RACE DETAILS

Race room will open ~2:00pm est. (Friday) with qualifying starting between ~2:30-3:00pm est. (provided enough entries). Qualifying settings will be fuel consumption/tire wear on FAST while race setting will be NORMAL.

I hope for better luck in the next race. Spa Francorchamps just doesn't favour me. I spun at weird spots, mostly because of me, but twice because of my wheel. It randomly keeps registering the PS Home button, and it's really annoying.

Pushing the issues I had aside, I felt I was relatively competitive. And great race to everyone else who participated.

Next round will be Monza. It will be a good prep race for LaSarthe after that. Was a good weekend for me Id say. I tried a different strategy on Sunday from Friday. Turned out I was a little slower in overall time, but faster in one lap pace.

i'm changing my status to reserve
too much stuff is going around lately :ouch:

OK, you missed the 1st and 2nd rounds, but hopefully you can make the races coming up.

I'll post results later today so look out for them. ALSO- I need someone to keep track of the points and ballast totals for me with a spreadsheet or graph. If interested, please help!

I'm hoping to make Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Since I qualified for Nurb, I'm in the Panoz again... for good. Tomorrow I have to visit a college, and this is a Sunday that will be borderline (definitely will NOT make any type of qualifying).
However, if you will allow me to switch cars, I'm going to test the Panoz/Lambo/Supra against each other and my test track right now and whichever one feels the best I'm using. Though it does pain me to see a vacated Esperante, I'm not screwing around like I did last season. I'm racing.

The Lamborghini is taken. Texas Tyme said he wanted to switch out to it. And currently ZackAK47 is in it but he has the chance to switch out as well. So it's in question between those two. The Supra is not taken so I suggest trying that out.

Well, with these regs, I'm finding the Panoz to be significantly slower than last season... 1.2 seconds off of the pace of the Diablo at GVS and it was only two-thirds of a second off last season. The Supra, I still need to test, and I still suggest using that Castrol '97 Supra because it has 50/70 downforce and it is also premium, but besides the point... I'm not in the mood to get my clock cleaned by someone driving my 2nd favorite Japanese car... especially if I'm driving the DENSO.

Edit: As my luck would serve... my fastest laps all around were turned in the Diablo. I'm lucky to get a 2'10 at Spa in the DENSO/Panoz (which is 2 full seconds off the fastest lap), while I was able to get a 2'09.597 in the NOMAD... with a full tank on a 2nd lap run. That means WELL under 2'08 with a siphoned fuel load.

The SARD is plenty quick imo. If you run the Panoz it should be 1160-1170kg 562hp.

I did a run with @ 1160, 1170, 1183, 1200, and 1245, and I was fastest with 1183kg, turning a time of... 2'11.793. I swear that Panoz is a good half second slower (when compared to competition) than last season.

The DENSO was just too slow in a striaght line. Excellent acceleration, but if there is a straightaway that is longer than 500m the DENSO is screwed.

At Spa I was able to run in the high 2:10s with the Panoz at 1161kg. The Supra has turbo stg 3 so it should be fast on the straights. Not sure why you feel it isn't.

Sorry about that, guys! The Supras specs were wrong. They were stating 552hp but suppose to be 562hp! Its now updated.

I've made my mind up about the Friday races. I will only take part in the non-endurance races on those days.

Well, hope ti see you this evening! That goes for everyone. See you at Monza... details will be up shortly.
