Track-Details-LeMans.png

INTRODUCTION

Located in LeMans France, Circuit de la Sarthe is a semi-permanent race course most famous as the venue for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Reaching back to the 1920's the circuit has received many revisions, with the current version being introduced in 2002.

At 13.65 kilometers (8.5 miles) 'La Sarthe' is one of the longest tracks in the world. And features one of the longest straights. Though not as long as the original straight thanks to the chicanes added, there are still 5 sections of the track in which top gear is reached and speeds over 330kmh (205mph) are obtained. Special attention is needed at the porsche curves, ford chicanes at the end of the lap, and the esses at the first turn. Running wide will ruin your lap as there is little to no run off. Who will win on the 13+km classic circuit in LeMans France?

RACE DETAILS

Room open will be ~2:00pm Eastern time (U.S.). Qualifying will be ~20minutes in length and will start ~30-60 minutes after room open time (or until enough racers attend). Tire wear/fuel consumption will be on FAST setting only for qualifying. Race setting will be on Normal. You must start the race on the tire compound (soft or medium) you qualify with! Starts will be x2 rolling. First race is 1-lap to set grid in qualifying order. Then feature race will begin with the x2 rolling start used by the room settings. Be prepared to roll after the 3 second countdown!

TIRE USAGE

Circuit de le Sarthe's length proves difficult with tires, for this race tire usage is OPEN. This means that you must use BOTH COMPOUNDS tires equally through the race. That equals 15 laps MAX/MINIMUM. A minimum stint is required of 7 laps per stint/tire, no upper limit to amount of laps on specific tire as long as you meet minimum distance of 7 laps per stint.

ROOM NUMBER

1472-6118-3200-9597-1053

Good racing, even though we had some loser punt us at the beginning and then some left for other plans. Ill make sure to post the results soon. I still need someone to make a few tables for points and ballast totals! I don't have access to a computer to do this now.

I would help but im horrific with numbers, some would end up with a 300 point advantage, i thought winner was doing it?

I just need someone to make the tables and input the data. The figuring out part I'll do.

Great. Hopefully our confirmed entries show up in a timely fasion as to get the race started on time. That way we cut back on people dropping out the race due to fatigue or time or other commitments. I will post the results up from Sarthe 05 later today.

The Panoz will return to competition on Friday!
I will continue to test that three-three until it's fast enough.

Please show up on time guys. At least be there by 7pm! This race at Indy is the American endurance race, so it will be almost 2 hours. I prefer everyone be racing at the end.

NEWS!

Ballast will be 'reset' as its a new continental season. But spec changes in the form of weight will be issued to all drivers based on the points theyve scored in the races they've attended. I will give the specific details later. But expect an increase in weight using this formula:

Points total through RD. 4 \ 4 = total added to minimum weight. Example: 150pts. ÷ 4 = 37.5 rounded up to the nearest 10th = 40kg + old minimum weight as new success ballast.

This is success ballast applied to every driver. For the three American rounds your success ballast will accumulate as usual 1. 30kg 2. 20kg 3. 10kg; finishes off the podium delete all success ballast and you will return to car's minimum weight as stated in the OP.
