What was the realistic weight balance? I can't see it being better than 53-47, but the Viper has a similar body, but has a 47-53 balance, so...

The engine was placed behind the front axle. So its probably closer to 50-50 than 55-45, same with the C5-R.

INTRODUCTION

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, located in Speedway, Indiana (an enclave suburb of Indianapolis) in the United States, is the home of the IndyCar Indianapolis 500-Mile Race and the NASCAR Brickyard 400.

It has existed since 1909, and is the original Speedway, the first racing facility so named. With a permanent seating capacity for an estimated 257,325 people, it's the highest-capacity stadium-type facility in the world!

A modern infield road course was constructed between 1998 and 2000, incorporating the western and southern portions of the oval (including the southwest turn) to create a 2.605-mile (4.192 km) track. The road course layout is famous for it's flat out banked final turn resulting in top speeds close to 320kmh. One of the longest flat out sections of any track we visit coupled with the tight infield demands a tradeoff of high speed and high downforce. Who will finish first in Sunday's final race at Indy?

RACE DETAILS

Room will open today ~2pm Eastern time, 11am Pacific. Qualifying will begin ~30-60 minutes after room open. Being an Endurance Round tire usage is open with a minimum of 2 stints per tire compound. A minimum stint of 13 laps not including the pace lap.

ROOM NUMBER

I can make it at this point in time, hopefully people show up,

I hope so as well. I'm sure we'll get the usual takers. Hopefully more than 6 people show up like last time.

Agreed, but I'm not so confident I can make it, my usual truck broke down on me, my replacement is still an hour away, after a load shuffle and I finish my route I may miss the start,

I would of joined to fill up the numbers but the footie was on and what a brilliant match it was

Well, maybe you can join us tomorrow? Since we had daylight savings time over here in America, Dave, Flanked- you guys should be an hour earlier than usual. I know the races started pretty late for the guys in the UK. 12 midnight, but now it should be 11pm. Not sure if that's possible for you to make.

Race results will be up soon. Stay tuned.

where is the race tomorow?

I usually could make Sunday's, had it not been for the issue I'd have made it easy,

I'm gonna make it, don't know how well I'll do since I have just torn a rib muscle in gym class today. Painful as hell.

No problem, it was put off because we only had a few join anyway. Ended up testing next season's specs. I will make a few adjustments to them but they all feel good. At Spa with my ballast, all the cars in GT1 were equal at the current specs. So -20hp to them isn't going to change that. I was in the 2:05.6's with the CLK, 2:05.7's with the R390 and McLaren, all with 70kg of ballast. The GTS cars are a bit too fast this year, so cutting them back is going to be tough to get right. But I think I've got a good baseline for them in the Season 3 interest thread.

Yikes, I guess my 2'06 and a half is a bit off pace...

I'd say so. Without the ballast 2:03's are achievable. For next season the GT1 cars will only be down 20hp from this season- so 570hp, that will make them more powerful than the GTS class cars by at least 10hp.

I'm only a second off, I was running +75kg on my McLaren...

BIG NEWS- Next season the Panoz will be in GT1 (thanks to the hybrid cars) and the GT1's will weigh 900kg each.

It'll hopefully be in next season, and they'll hopefully be 900 kg. They are now, but if a patch comes, then we're scr**ed.

Uhhh... I need to get a 900kg Panoz first...
Plus the GT1's current weights are correct. I believe the R390 was actually 1033kg, the Merc was 1000kg flat, and I know the McLaren was 950kg. I'm not sure about Panoz because I've been looking and one source says 1000kg and the other says 900kg. The only thing I have is Le Mans 24 Hours for PS2, and that doesn't tell weights...

In FIA GT, the CLK GTR which became the CLK LM weighed 900kg, as did the McLaren F1. The Nissan is brought down to that weight so it can be competitive with the other cars of the class. And I've also seen quoted weights for the Panoz at 900kg as well.

I keep forgetting that we are doing FIA GT and not Le Mans -_-

How about a GT1 NSX-R
