A new update is coming 2018/09/26

The problem with GT Sport adding paid DLC is that it focuses mostly on online play. So what happens when GT Sport has 5 DLC tracks? Are they going to use them in FIA events? So people who don't buy DLC aren't able to participate in a chunk of FIA events. That's not even pay to win that's pay to play, that's even worse. No big deal for casual FPS games and what not, but if GT Sport is giving away prize money, and trips to participate in World Tour events and Finals, then everyone needs to have the chance to participate in every race, not just those who pay for DLC.
That said, if they add DLC packs that you can only use in SP and private lobby's then I won't care, I won't buy them anyways.

It turned into a big deal for every multiplayer game in the last few years,Battlefield is finally getting rid of their Premium passes and every map from now on will be free for every player.

So I updated the game last night and bought the cars I wanted. So I went to do my setups on them and apply my wheels and carbon fiber accents. When I saw the wheel selection for the 300ZX/Fairlady Z and NSX-R I was completely disappointed at the wheel selection for these cars. I ended up putting Enkei RPF-1’s on the NSX-R so I got over the issue for that car. I wanted to put Adavan RG-D on it though. The 300ZX selection is probably the worst I’ve seen in the game thus far. There is nothing to choose from for that car. My plan was to put a set of concave Volk TE37’s in bronze on it since it’s red. Has anyone else noticed the horrible wheel selection for the 300ZX. Why is this?

The 996 GT3 looks good, it's also rare to see the pre-facelift 996 Porsche in racing games anymore (not counting the 911 GT1). I imagine that this isn't the end of Polyphony's Porsche additions, I bet they'll eventually add the 962 and 918 at least.

I'm shocked that they went and added the NSX Type R, I really thought they would just add the Acura NSX and call it a day. It's great to see they decided otherwise.

I totally agree. I was dissappointed too. So hyped to make a ‘real’ 300ZX in a deep dark purple color with either BBS or like you say TE37 wheels. Ended up with the first wheel you see when changing them.. :(

Everyone excited for the new 911s and NSX and I'm over here just in awe over the Z32 :lol:
I must be a minority. I've been enjoying the Plymouth. That car is a BLAST to drive.
Nobody has barely mentioned the XNR nor the Alfa yet. But the Alfa is understandable why. It's so pricey.
The XNR is a perfect candidate for the Blue Moon Bay Premium Sports Lounge race. It's N300 stock, and costs 1,000,000cr. so its eligible.

Oh really! I guess I'll be dusting off Battlefield 1 this week! And yes, the "no big deal" comment was just my personal opinion since they never bothered me, I realize DLC has been a hot button issue everywhere for years.

Getting OT but I never understood the way EA did it. Years ago I remember COD DLC maps came out and they just got amalgamated into the rotation of all maps, so if you didn't have the DLC you got booted from the lobby and had to join another one. So those that bought all DLC got a huge variety of maps. Now what EA did I never liked, you buy a 20$ DLC and it's like it's own separate entity, so if you want to play the new maps you join lobbies where you just play on those 3 new maps over and over. Kind of defeats the purpose of adding more maps.

Okay, so i was really intriged about my Fuji peformance at the world tour.

Tried the Fairlady Z at Fuji on the same settings: 1s faster on the DS4, 2.01 laptime

Went to try the Alpine. 4.5 SECONDS FASTER than the 2.01 on my first lap with the car...

I guess i wasnt that bad on the wheel. The fairlady is pretty terrible. I feel better now...

Kaz is a vice-president of Sony Interactive and GT is the platforms’ bestseller so :D If PD ever goes down, then SONY has a bigger problem :D
Too big to fail? Sony has plenty of very successful exclusive games. The last GT universally praised was GT4, 14 years ago!
GT used to be a juggernaut and things have changed. Even if GT is more than a game to me, we shouldn't be blinded by nostalgia. Just look at Forza Horizon, arcade or sim whatever it's a car game aiming to the mass market (unlike Assetto Corsa).
No weather conditions, statick TOD, only two tracks at night, laughable AI, no true career mode with a sense of achievement, many missing features :
-360° camera view;
-camera view options like a G sensitive camera, it's stiff and looks boring;
-the best 3D models but no actual showroom with a free camera;

And so on. Unless they make a u-turn for the next GT, more tracks and cars won't change anything in the eyes of non-GT fans.

+1 here for the wheels selection for the Z32.
I can´t understand why´s that. Maybe the screw holes, i dont know.
Some rims are even ricey, totally disgusting to match with this JDM Legend.

As others have pointed out in other threads - Sony work very closely with PD developing new technology. That it results in games that bring money in as a sideline is perhaps even a bonus. Racing games don't need a plot, or original material save for the fantasy tracks which are a shortcut around doing more work and incurring greater expense anyway (scanning). If licenses become too expensive there are always other manufacturers who want to promote their cars. It is the perfect platform for experimentation, and GT Sport has been a huge E Sports experiment for Sony and now they are working on Ray Tracing tech for next gen.

For that alone I doubt GT is going anywhere unless Sony is, and at the moment it's the games division that has been propping up their other businesses for years as they tread water.

Thank you, Mister :bowdown:

I stuffed up the quotation marks.

No problem, I read your answer anyway.

Sony pulling the plug on DRIVECLUB is the biggest pile of 🤬 i've seen in racing games industry. Still salty about that

Yes, a wasted opportunity to create a content-rich better looking (PS4 Pro) sequel. They could have made something different by taking the Forza Horizon route. DRIVECLUB in a open-world setting.

J.D

Wow, how did you catch that eagle?

Trash update. Bunch of boring and unnecessary cars. Fuji could've been added much later, it's not a priority when we still haven't got Laguna Seca, Monte Carlo and such. GT Leagues were very nice additions though and convenient as I was about to buy a Mazda 787.

I am the only who is not really hyped by that update ? :confused:
I wasn't particularly hyped either. I will enjoy Fuji Speedway but the car list is a little too road car focused for me. Even if the 911 (997) GT3 had have been swapped out for GT3 Cup it would have been terrific. I will try to build one though!

However, all the free content updates are very welcome.

I'm not hyped but look forward to "new" stuff with each update. Since I lost all my cars thanks to PD's ineptness in fixing the bug/glitch, I get my hopes up that bug would be fixed, unfortunately, it hasn't. Maybe next patch ! :rolleyes:

It's nice that we got nice addition\updates of GT League. With how the F1 Merc got fixed too, those are easy 240k + clean.
Also happy they added (finally) the Gr.1 races without being endurance with nice payout. Sometimes it's better having a fresh of change and not race on the same BMB or Le Mans.

It's a bit frustrating that I always have to delete something to make room for updates.

I bought the CD and not the digital version specifically because I thought I'd save HD space for PS plus games and whatnot. But that turned out to be dumb.

Digital version would have been better for me in hindsight. I don't know for sure but there's probably more loading time involved with the CD version. Especially restarting.
