I finally managed a silver in the Stealth 787B with @shaunm80 tune with part of @praiano63 tune (9kg @ +50). Now that I have learned the track I know I can win with this car. I was 5 sec. from the lead. I got a 5 sec. ramming penalty while trying to pass the Toyota 7 in 2nd place or I would have won this one. I gave up on the LM55 because the best I could do was a 3rd. I haven't played much until this race. I also need to get back by 200% login bonus. 1.2 mil would be a nice payday as I really don't want the prize car. It'll go to the stockyard. Hopefully my next post will be the win with a picture.

I remember reading about using the Chaparral 2X on the first page. I had a hard time driving this car with a DS3 which is why I never tried it. It is a breeze on this track. I took the lead at the end of lap 3 with 3 laps of 1:42's then kinda messed up a few times but still won by almost 12 sec. So if you are having difficulties winning this one use the 2X. It handles like it's on rails. Once I get my 200% login bonus (3 more days) I'll be using this car to grind with. I'm still going to try and win this with the Stealth 787B with the @shaunm80 tune and the @praiano63 tweak. This is just so easy with the 2X. Thanks to @Jayson619 for bringing it to my attention.

Tried a couple of races with my 787B stealth with all assists turned off but ABS 1 but I could only manage laps in the high 1:49s even when I was assessed a 5 second "ramming" penalty and kept coming in 3rd anywhere between 5 and 15 seconds behind the leader. So, I turned on all but active steering. I was then able to run in the low 1:48s and was in 5th at the end of lap 4 but only 5 seconds behind the leader. On the back section I was bumped off the track by the 4th place car (thankfully I didn't spin out) and passed the 2nd place car on the second last lap and came across in 2nd place only 0.706 behind the leader. So close.... LOL....

Hi! This event wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but I did admittedly use my badly tuned 2X to get the win- my R92CP only rewarded me a 3rd place, then a 4th place.
Quite happy with prize car though- always wanted an R390 GT1!

:lol:This is really too easy with the 2X and it doesn't need a tune. Just add 143 kg to get to 700PP. Back to 50 million credits again. Now back to the 787B Stealth to get a win with it. I might give @skeagracing tune a shot as well. Once I manage to win with the 787B I'll be sure to post whose tune I used.

I'm off to go buy the BMW Z4 for the 630PP Super Lap. That'll knock some credits off.

I won with the normal 787B with a new tune and I will pass it on to you later today.

I tried it last night with the Mazda Furai at 675PP. Top speed with max down force was barely 181 mph. But it sure is glued in the corners. I tried a couple of the VGT race cars and the Mercedes VGT couldn't even come close for me. There is one that is at 699PP (can't remember which one) that was able to take 1st place.

Then I tried it with the C60 for the first time. I think I did one lap at 1:41 and change. This seasonal has been a good money maker :)

Couldn't find a tune for the Nissan R92CP '92, so I tried...

I've tried the Peugeot VGT on this one, could only win when there was no Pescarolo involved.
But could easely beat the Toyota Minolta, even with a crash penalty.
The race i did with the Pescarolo in the field i only manged to get third even behind the Minolta Toyota.
My overall time was even faster (the fastest i ever did actually) on this race.
It doesn't seem logic to me.:odd::rolleyes:

@Delphion thank you for the valid suggestions but I'm not criticizing the event for being too easy (and I'm certainly not boasting because I am by not a fast driver).

I found it unusual (especially in an expert level race) for the lead AI car not to increase its pace as I closed in on it or after I passed it. Its been my experience that even in the beginner and intermediate level races you get some level of "banding" based on the your lap times. The active AI is what makes for good racing when using a variety of cars that differ in performance.

I certainly could have worded my post better (and left out the part about being disappointed) but its main purpose was to see if others had similar races. Seems likely that my experience was isolated, maybe the lead AI went off course shortly after I passed it and I did not know it.

No, it's not just you @RuddRacer , I've noticed that too.

For me, it always happened with the leading Toyota Minolta. As soon as I got close, he completely slowed down and let me pass, and then never troubled me again. It was almost like he'd given up!

I've never seen that in a Expert event before (especially with LM cars) - usually they hound you if you dare to pass them!

First time I tried this event I ended up 12th, behind by over 1 minute from the leading car!! Best I've done is 18 secs behind 1st (in 5th) in the Pescarolo. I don't have the patience for this track!
