I'm here. The data have been protected.
I could think that some big brothers are watching us ...
I can see the board room meeting now: "We'd better put heavy protection on the extra data on this disc to keep those pesky GTP kids from hacking it again."

I've yet to properly conquer that tight, tight, unexpected left hander around km 6, I keep screwing up and just bombing through the grass and then back onto the track after the turn

From what I've read, people very often accidentally do the exact same on the real 'Ring...

There's one very simple thing that has been missing from the GT series right from the very beginning, and judging by the demo, won't be in GT4 either - reverse lights! :irked:

Is this the demo disk that comes with the U.S. OPM Magazine?
I got mine in the mail...in a little preview packet thing from Playstation.com for Underground members. It also came with the warning, so i just took my mem card out so nothing gets erased. It just says not to play viewtiful joe 2.So i don't think it's the same demo, but i could be wrong.

i received that demo disc about a week ago, and just like what exactly on gamespot says, i had my memory card with gta:sa saved (not quite far but spent at least 20 hours on it) and all my other gt3 files + gt4p files, etc other ps2 games...all gone and after 1-2days, i received a mail that says the demo disc has bug.

I guess it isnt available anymore? :( I tried going at GTKnights, but all I got was a tiny .rar file with bittorent file in it. Am I missing something?

Where is GTKnights? I've been searching all over the net for the site, but I can't find it. Thanks for any info.

Cheers,
David

I wouldn't call that drifting.

EDIT: OK OK, I have to admit I can't be negative all the time. I've haven't even tried the demo yet so I have no idea how hard it is to drift that car on that track...

Well it was my first attempt at serious drifting ever, so go easy on me :)

Plus, you can't turn off TCS in the demo.

The MR2 with street tires is good fun to slip around the Nurburgring. Racing drifting mostly, but good fun.

Pleeeeeeasssee!!!

You developer guys :) Please find a way to remove the timelimit!! I can't wait for a complete lap on Nurburgring !

bye

 the demo sounds no-where near as good as GTR.

Exterior car sounds are slightly better but interior engine noise 👎

I have to second you on that, the transmission yell (spell?) of GT4 is nowhere near like GTR, but in GTR they only have like a dozen cars and NOT 50 dozens :sly: 👍

That is exactly, what i was writing a second ago in the "Drifting" thread...

Kinda fun, that little b§$$"%d.

Considering the amount of skill required to maintain drifting in high-powered cars, I don't know if I'd call the physics "forgiving". I mean, I like to consider myself a pretty decent GT driver, but I can't drift to save my life.. lose it almost every single time.

The plethora of videos out there showing cars spinning out twelve ways to Sunday on the Nordschleife says there's nothing wrong with the physics engine.

The TC really gets in the way.

With the MR2 and street tires I can easily "race drift" a faster time up to the T3 at the 'Ring than I can going in with full grip. Doing my best "Stefan Rosier" impressions. It makes me even more stoked for the real game and an actual RUF CTR yellowbird. Considering 4 of the 5 (except the skyline r34) cars in the demo I wouldn't ever drive or give a second look at if I had other choices, I like them alot, well except the RX-8, then again i didn't like it in GT3. I've been watching Stefan's lines (in the faszination video) up to T3 and trying to follow them as close as I can using the same "back end out style" with the MR2. I can follow it pretty close. What is really cool is that the bumps in the circuit that thrown Stefan's CTR off into a turn are there in the demo, they do the same to my MR2. Plus the way the curbs effect the car match closely to the video.

I'd say the physics are pretty "real" (for a video game).

The Rx-7 is pretty good too, though not as loose as the MR2. Even throwing the Falken GTR into a turn hard and slipping the back end around is nice. Because of the TC you need to literally "throw" the GTR into the turn to get it to slip like you would want....going in with more speed than you would think and turn ALL the way in to jam the car around. Not exactly smooth driving or "proper technique"but again that damn TC and gets in the way! Not to mention the AWD, though it isn't so bad, kinda nice, lets you hook the car back up earlier, but you need to go in hard to hit the apex earlier in order to use it's added grip out....

OH and can I say. I completely don't "get" photo mode. Neither how to use it nor why I would use it. Just seems sorta cheesy to me. It's cool it's in there for those who like it, but I'll be pissed it is one of the reason GT4 is being held up time after time.

B-Spec mode sounds cool though, I hope a demo surfaces with that in it.

Now if I can only figure out how to get the BMW demo working.....to compare between GT4p/bmw demo/this recent demo of course.

Yeah, the physics were fine, it's just that the TCS was on, so it would pull you right out of the drift if you tapped the gas.

Uhh, you couldn't cut off the asb and tsc
That's not the problem, the problem is that the car is a proper racing car with a diffuser, splitter, lots of downforce, low slipangles, comepletely setup for racing. It takes skill to do a powerslide in such a car let alone what he was doing, throwing it around and all.
