What a shame... The car is lovely, but there's far too much abuse of the kerbs and chicanes to make it enjoyable for me :(

i can see your point as well, there is too much "gray area" isnt there. it should be like you can touch kerbs but cannot touch grass at all sort of thing. i mean, whats the point of those chicanes on Piff-Paff, everyone drives straight through them anyway.:boggled:

Ascari is pretty tough. It is a joy to race around, but it's TOUGH! Even a car as great as the NSX is a handful around Ascari. I have run a few laps around Ascari using the racing-spec Volkswagen Scirocco R. I still need to run a few more laps to get a good general idea of Ascari. I haven't completed a single lap with the NSX around Ascari as of this post.

well ok, this is the setup from a mid-fielder.lol
NSX type R 2002
default wheels.
95/95
7.35/8.65
3/3
5/5
3/1
0.0/0.0
0.00/0.05
f7/r7 standard brakes
lsd 5/20/20,
no power modification
ballast in middle 78kg to meet 470pp.
and, no oil change.

Thanks for sharing this tune, I tried several others before coming across yours and I quickly shed 8 seconds off my time, (even though I failed to read and apply adding the ballast),
as it worked out I ran no aids and got the gold without the ballast.(2.29.79 Time)

im glad you liked it!:) but, ei, EIGHT seconds??!:ill: wow, the setup must be damn good then!:D

dont forget to do weight reduction stage 1 before adding ballast otherwise its pointless. stage 1 weight reduction lightens the car by, what, 140kg or some? that exceeds the PP limit so you gota put some back to meet the regulation.

Posted a 2:25:305 time with the Motor city tune.

As I got to drive the car lap by lap, not only did I get to learn the track more but also realised the turns where I could push more.

Fun to drive along the lines of other friends. The lines seem like a guiding light that are assisting me as I drive along.

Type R '02, stock, ABS=1 only, 2:24.xxx. Subsequent laps I've managed to cut a lot of time off that but I messed up later on due to distractions around me. :( I'm going to give it some more time later.

I liked this car so much I put custom wheels (+0 size RAYS 57Xtre...) and paint (Barolo Black) on it. Definitely going to use it more in the future.

This was certainly the most enjoyable of the three new Seasonals for me. VW was the hardest, XBow was the easiest.

Sark

I'm having great fun with this time trial. I didn't expect to enjoy this car as much. It was a bit of struggle to keep the back from sliding too much.
Try my tune. I managed 2:18.907 for now.

Thank you for your setting! Great stable NSX-R on Ascari. I managed 2min17"510 on fifth lap of the Seasonal Event with a little bit of tweaks on Transmission!
Thank you very much! After several more laps, it is now 2min16"991. Thank you very much!

Finally starting to get some consistency and finding more time. At 2:15.304 now. It's amazing how you can keep pushing this car. Then again, SRF is a big part of that. Using Hamilton's tune.

Used the Type R '02 got it intake tuning and stage 2 weight reduction + all other upgrades which don't increase pp, then power limited it;
DS3- ABS on 1, SRF on, sensitivity on 7, everything else off.
Managed to get 2:18.615 which got me 352nd spot which is my best one so far. (I've got top 100 but that was hours within opening of those seasonals).

EDIT: Just shaved off 1.7 seconds - 2:16.929 which puts me on 154th position.

I hated nothing more than this track, took me about 10-20 tries to get gold as I never raced the track before (maybe did years and years ago) flat with blind turns I find horrible even when you sort of know the track

I never use SRF don't care about leaderboards but I can see why it helps judging by top replays

improved a bit, low 2:16.7s.

im running out of talent, cant see much of improvement. currently 140th, id like to break into top 100 for the first time, so please everyone, dont improve.lol

that top guys ghost is insane, he gaps me by half a second on each corner, after about 1/3 of lap he is gone!

Wow. I went from a bronze to a gold very quickly with this setup. I will have to look for tunes as I had tried to tune it before I raced but mine sucked ballz compared to this one.

D'oh, I just realized that having aero kits and flat floors caused my NSX to be stuck at 249 BHP with Hamis tune, no wonder I felt so slow against my friends' ghost lines on the straights. So I guess I'll have to come back on this one and try to shave off a second or two from my previous 2:19:6xx with my "new", improved NSX.

E: Well there it is, 40 more BHP gave me a 2:18:2xx on the first clean lap after about 10 invalidated ones. That blind lefthander, "Hill", is really starting to get on my nerves, that corner is officially my bane now. I've ruined a couple .5's just by starting to panic for knowing that I'm on a good run and that cursed corner is still up ahead waiting to ruin my lap just before the finish line.

A perfect lap (for my capabilities) could probably be around 1s faster still, so I might give it another go, or not. Being 7 seconds behind those top10 aliens is something I can probably live with on this one.

i watched some of the top guys replays last night and they were all short shifting around 7k rpm, meaning most likely the engine has a flat top end with decreasing torque - the power limiter is used. its either the engine was bored up to have fatter torque, or, the car is very light with no ballast - i suspect the latter, as they were running with carbon hoods.

most likely their cars are lightened with at least stage 1 or even full weight reduction with no ballast and use power limiter to meet the PP requirement. when i have some time ill try with less weight to see if i can improve my time.

the top japanese guy was shifting at slightly higher rev so his engine might not been restricted as much OR the engine is worn - with no spec B bob to grind the car for you these days, he mustve ground the car himself. ...how can we beat the guy like that?:boggled:

You must have a perfect setup & social life must be restrained ;)

I'm at 2:25:042 with maybe some time left in the lap but seriously, how are people finding 10+ seconds?!! I only have ABS 1 here... using a DFGT wheel.

Well, if you want to get closer to the top guys you kind of have to jump in the SRF train and put that one on. I'm not sure what's the theoretical fastest time without SRF on this one, but finding 10+ seconds is probably not going to happen.

So my tip, put SRF on. Also painting the car pink might help.

Haha, screw that, can't be arsed with SRF it just dilutes how the car handles and turns the game more towards something like Grid/NFS. Not fussed about chasing times if they are doing that. It's like putting an auto aim hack on in an FPS ;)

Fair enough, its not for everyone. My favourites are probably Mount Panorama, Nordschleife, Ascari and Spa all share some similarities :D

I do like Mount Panorama (not just because I'm an Aussie haha).
It can get pretty intense on top of the mountain!

Well, having done all I could with my old '91 Acura NSX (1:25 SRF off tune here) I got the '02 R and boy is it a different beast!

Anyway, got a 1:23.low and sure I can get 1:22, more if I find a better setup.

But my question is, how does that stack up against anything really? All top times are done with SRF on.

Do you guys have an estimate on how much time does SRF save on this particular track/event?

It got me at least 2s around Tsukuba with the Lancia, so is 5 seconds here realistic? More?

Go find the global records in the menu, the replay data of top ten players can be downloaded. You might be surprised that those top players do drifting a lot here!

How amazing!

I ride on similar line, but just can't keep pressing on the gas with red hot tires like they do in the corners. Almost magic.
That's SRF I'd say, Special Recovery Fairydust.

I tried with the Acura NSX a dozen times and was this close to finsih with a clean lap till that Hill turn so I gave up, after reading that NSX-R is the car choise I will try it once more and will have to use either Hoots setup or Matsuda due to the good reviews, I'll get back to y'all...

First post since Christmas, been struggling with this nsx, then in a blinding flash it came to me (my head and the wife's fist 🤬)
Finally made a 2.18.480 in the nsx, quite pleased with that, there may be another second out there for me we shall see.
Will try again tomorrow.

Anybody else notice disqualifications with three wheels on, such as on the first chicane and elsewhere? Very annoying! unless I'm imagining it.

I could swear I got valid laps (blue, not red) not counting when I exit the event. Twice. But I thought it was some sort of bug, since the game would hang for a few seconds then come back.

6s for SRF advantage would make me around 2:16-able. I can live with that!
