ALMS Season V

Yeah got my days mixed up, I meant Friday. I'm leaving tomorrow morning and won't be back until either Moday night or Tuesday morning.

@coastie we've all been there in some form or another. Ask Mel about GP/F last season. And that was a complete frustration reaction from me. We were both just kind of not being courteous to each other and then I took it waaaay too far.

The point is just to take something from it and move on. Sorry I didn't mean to be scolding or anything, I missed a lot of the other replies addressing the incident. So anyway no big deal if mistakes are learned from.

As the backmarker in this series, I've learned a lot about these guys and how to share the track and when I'm being an idiot (and when other people are being idiots! :))

Haha, or let's just not. Last season, everyone was so frustrated with trying to pass me, because I was hard to pass; I was the fastest car in the straights, (even faster, occasionally, than LMP cars) and spent more time sideways in the corners, it seemed. Therefore, 🤬 was bound to hit the fan.

Well, I don't remember that race very well, so I don't remember if you were a "problem" for me or not. But I do remember having an awesome battle with Kevin for second in the closing minutes of the race, which was very fun.

Soo uhhh, where is the next race? And I'm guessing its ok for me to run the Evora? I dont even think mine is broken in yet. Last I checked it was sitting at about 499hp. Does that sound about right?

I see TG2 is running something different this season. He's always been consistent in the RUF. Maybe something new is all he needs to put him over the top. :scared:

I think the Evora maxes out at 476 bhp. I am not for certain though.

Next race is at Suzuka. If you haven't run a race in the actual season, I don't see why not for you to run the Evora, it doesn't need an engine or chassis overhaul. But that decision is not up to me. Mine's sitting at 449 HP right now, 472 HP if I do an oil change. I don't run in very often, but it's a fun car to drive.

I think TG2 said that he switched cars due to the lack of downforce on the RUF, but don't hold it to me.

Suzuka and yes.

Yeah with the RUF it has no downforce, and with the tire switch it makes the RUF hard to turn. Love that car!! Maybe on our mid season break (spa) I'll bust it out again!! Or motegi... RUF need a cooler rear wing add on and a body kit..

So were not running RS this season? I did a very quick skim through the OP and I didnt see anything about running a harder compound. I could have missed it though.

And I have off tomorrow. So three day weekend for me as soon as I get back. :) This will give me some much needed seat time for this and the Rolex series. I've been slacking lately. Who's gonna race with me in the back of the pack?

But before that, it needs to be premium to get the proper aero parts that the rest of the field kinda gets. If it stays standard, then all it will get is a rear wing if they ever decide to allow it to go that far.

From what I understand, the GT field is not allowed to use Racing Soft tires, only the LMP field can use them. I don't know about the back of the pack though.

Yeah no racing softs in gt, only racing mediums and racing hards. Question? If everyone starts on meds or hard can someone watch the replay to make sure everyone stays on the tire specs?? Just worried that someone might try to cheat and no one could prove it? TT13 might want to put that on the op.

If I make the race, I'll try to watch the replay to make sure. If I don't make the race, someone can supply the replay for me. I'm sure everyone here is honorable, so I don't think it'll be a problem. You know, you might as well make me a secondary, or tertiary, steward too.

You are right though. TT13 should put this update in the OP as it is a big rule.

Will get some practice in 30 minutes, and TT13 I'll give you a tune, just tell me your driving style.

Can we go ahead and say what the penalty will be if you switch to softs, accident or not? I feel if we at least post something, we will have it on the back of our minds before we enter the pits.

Speaking of pit entry. I always use the second (shorter) entrance right before the straight away.

Speaking of that, I would like to know what pit entry to use before I do something wrong

Whatever your heart desires.
We'll say a 3 position penalty for using softs.

I am talking about which pit-in to use buddy. 👍 I am in LMP, so I can use racing softs.

@Ant: Now I have a teammate 👍 Yay.

As I said, doesn't matter which.
I usually use the second one like FH.

Ok, I appreciate it man. 👍 I will use the second one as well. That seems to be the quickest and easiest.

So, someone could tell me the tires rule?, we have to use two compounds?, the first stint with the same compound that I qualify?

What track today...?
