ALMS Season V

We could compromise and say that on top of our two drops, we can replace bad races with preseason wins IF you used the EXACT SAME CAR that you drive in the season. But even that might be a pain. I'm just spitballing.

Preseason races will not and have never been counted before.
Nor will Spa count for points.
Surprised the Lotus did so well at Monza. Just stay in the draft I suppose.

I'm cutting the power down a bit for the next race. For cosmetic purpose only though. That single exhaust tip is killing me. Next race should favor the Evora anyway.

I'm not. Seriously.

I had comfrotable 1:48's set for Monza, and yes, on mediums. The setup for the chicanes was as smooth as a baby's backside. I only took about an hour or so setting the car up, so I was actually really surprised. However, my connection failed me.

This is a little off topic but I would just like to confirm. Next race is Cote d'Azure this Friday starting at 8pm Eastern time?

That is correct. Keep an eye on the thread for any official room numbers. The room will most likely not open until 8:30. But I'll probably have a practice room open right at 8. I dont think I have you on my friends list on PSN. But you can shoot me a request if you want. 👍

If I may ask, can someone do a test between each of the cars on the field on a well-rounded track and see what times they get? I don't want the Evora to be found OP, and same with the Viper. It'll make my wins feel unlegit. Although I'm sure Hawaiian and Storm are just a league ahead of me :P.

Some people get more out of certain cars than others. If anything the Ferrari is the fastest car here (if not the Ford GT).

This. Techni was in the Evora last season and had issues with it. And I think Seth might have used it at Spa but was able to make it competitive.

We all know how TG2 is one of our more consistent drivers. But he's in a new car this season and it looks like he needs to iron out some kinks. No doubt he will get the car there eventually. But you go back to last season and see that it was basically between the Kevin (vette) and Yera (Ford). Just like Seth said, different cars seem to suit different people better.

Tez is just a freak when it comes down to practice and preparation. I tell you, its a tremendous benefit to have him as a team mate. He has everything covered for the next track by Monday. Best part is he is willing to share all of it with me. :)

Some cars are better suited for different tracks, so it's hard to tell how one will do until you complete a season.

You have to also account for the driver. We'd like to believe we're all equal in driving ability though I somehow doubt it :)

Radio LM was just talking about how the 458s do better in the European series because they're suited to high-speed corners, and American tracks are more bumpy and short (though we all know it's because ESM is the only team competing...)

With their DI engines, they also get better fuel economy. With the Evora last season, I was leading the race at Spa with it, I didn't have it all the way broken in yet though, plus I had a awkward tune that had front tire wear a problem. If you spend more time with it and tune that out and have it all the way broken in, it turns into a front runner. Any of these cars can though IMO.

Thats how I feel also. I dont think we've had anyone rrpeat with the same car. I think you were the only one to repeat. But I think it was with different cars.

We'll probably catch you guys towards the end of the first stint, or the middle of the 2nd stint depending on how good tire wear is. So between laps 9-15 IMO.

I'd say shoot for an hour and a half to two hours by multiplying the LMP average lap time.

Also I probably won't be able to make it this week.

Hey guys, I realized you play to EMT, 5 hours behind GMT here in UK, to be able to join races you'd have to open up rooms at an earlier time. Is that alright with you guys?

I think 90 seconds a lap would be the average taking into account that it'll be 1:28's for my pace and adding in pit stops. So you divide 1.5 hours by 90 seconds, or 5400 seconds by 90 seconds and you get 60laps.

I had Comcast out here a couple days ago. From what the guy did, it seemed like he had no idea what he was doing, or he was rushing the job. He said it was my wireless router. My brand new router. Well, that was a lie, and I proved it. Replaced the modem twice as well, and no go.

Today, had them out here again, and this time, the guy knew what he was doing, and wanted to make sure that we have no more problems. He got my speed up to 25 MB down and around 6MB up. A huge difference. Hopefully, the cut outs stop here.

I'll test it out later tonight.

Anyways, I can try to race, but I'm still not too keen on the tire wear thing still.

Definitely tire wear is an issue, which is why running the LMP's at 500hp as a base was an idea I thought would help out. Running without tire wear is another option but that ruins a lot of strategy with the current rules.

My god, I've been beaten! :scared: :ouch:

 In seriousness, congratulations! 👍 👍
