ALMS Season V

Like last season we all used LMP one race, then we all used GT the next. The race was half distance of the usual length. We doing that again?

I wouldnt mind doing that. I actually intended on using the Bentley this season. Obviously went with a last minute change. I want to run the 458 next season. So the Bentley and the 458 will be my two choices if we go that route. Everyone has Spa by now right? Well, the guys who show up regularly anyway.

Anyone in GT look ahead and do testing for Madrid yet? I might throw down some laps tonight. I'll post times asap to see if we are ahead of the competition or not. But I think this track favors the Lotus anyway.

It would be nice to race Spa for points. The ones who race should have the DLC by now. I don't have much money and I bought the DLC. 👍

I agree with this 100%.

Maybe count it for points if you have a dc or a no show? I missed the very first race so it would help me out.

But Spa was also supposed to be a track where you could race any car on the roster.

And I'm guessing theres no way to have Storms standings in the OP is there? If TT13 were to add it into the OP and storm did changes would it update by itself?

I'll likely have to bow out of this series and GT5 in general for next season, at least for now. Way too many things on my plate, and school comes first. Nothing's final yet, but I can't even seem to keep up with showing at races when I am signed up, and that isn't fair to others who want to race full time.

Dont worry man. We have plenty of room for people to join. Come whenever you can. I think the most we've had was maybe 10 at one time? I miss those days of 16 in the lobby. :(

If we count it I hopefully will have spa & motegi friday. I really need to make up points for myself and BMW. I am close in manufacture points to Ford.

Someone must have raced with the Ford at Daytona then. Cause I dont remember anyone driving it.

gtamann123 drove the Ford at Daytona.

If TT13 updated the OP with the links to the spreadsheets (I would have to provide them, or he can get the links from the "Quote" feature), then we'd be set. When I update the sheets, the links stay the same. I just need to create a template for the rounds you guys haven't raced yet. If you guys want to have Spa for points, I have no problem with it. I just have to change the formulas a bit in the spreadsheets, then we'd be set. Same thing with Motegi (I don't have Motegi yet).

I keep forgetting that I'm not referred to as "Storm" anymore, and that there's another Storm(y) here... It's really throwing me. :dunce:

There's a harsh reality-check right at the very start, followed by a nice ebb and flow to the corners for the most part, then one more reality-check at the very end of the lap.

Spa will NOT be counted for points. You guys do this EVERY season and then someone always complains that they don't have it.

:)

People complained there wasn't enough tracks. Then they add more and people still complain. 5 bucks for it, you can save enough change in a week to get that. I find it baffling people wouldn't buy Spa of all tracks.

It's a bit like wanting a new phone which is hella expensive, but by paying for a $60-a-month 18 month cell phone contract, you can get that new phone for free/a reduced price, even though you currently have a Top-up and Go plan that works out better per month some months than others than the contract, and your old phone works fine but is a bit old and boring now.

Relevance to the above example:

You don't want to buy the track on its own, because it works out cheaper in the bundle. However, the bundle has extras you don't really need so you don't want to pay the money for all that stuff, but it works out cheaper than if you buy it all seperately.

It's not bad at all. Spa is 5 maybe 10 bucks. There is nothing wrong with the kart tracks, they're pretty fun for low powered cars (and karts). If you can't afford that I don't know what to tell people.

It's not so much the five dollars so much as the going out, getting, a $10 PSN card, and still having $5 leftover.

Yep, I did. I think it was just my tune, but the car felt like it didn't have much frontal grip so I couldn't really push the Ford. I may do a bit of tuning again but I don't have the time anymore to play frequently*, so I'm in a situation similar to TT13. But I'll never forget this series, so I'll drop on by here and there. So you could just drop me from the Championship.

*I still technically do, but most of the time I won't be in a mood to race.

I wish Motegi was in sunset setting. The vista was spectacular back in GT4.

Does Motegi have Time Change/Weather Change?

I think what was hurting me the most as well was tuning. I get the basics, but I don't have much time to play around with trial and error.

Hope to see you around a lot rather than rarely, man. Don't be a stranger!

Unfortunately, no. I guess the sunny setting is pleasing.

I'm in the same fault. A couple of guides do simplify the complicated mechanisms of tuning, but it's still trial and error.

Sure, mate! Same goes to TT13 and myself 👍

Must be some homebody's then. Any major store you go to has them. Even 7-Eleven has them. People just don't buy it because they don't want to spend money on the game. I don't care any way. I like Spa, it was a must buy for me. Plus I have 30 bucks on the PSN anyway.

If you buy a $10 psn card and you buy spa having $5 left over isnt a big deal buy motegi as well instead of bitching about it.

I think the people who are regularly showing up already have Spa. I cant say for sure about TG2. But I think I remember racing with him there once before.

I bought the Motegi track and hardly use it. :( Not cause I dont like it. I just dont have the time. Usually when I get on, its to tune for a series or another car that I've been wanting to test out. Is it a good track to tune on? I usually go to Suzuka for tuning, then minor adjustments for each track.

Yes I have spa and motegi. I'm the same way I have them but no time to play them. Heck I hardly turn on the ps3 anyways.
So are we racing are regular cars or trying different cars like we did last season? Half the race lmp and the other half gt?

Unless I pull some ridiculous sleep pattern out of my backside next week, I may have to miss Madrid. I have to be in work at 10am, so I'll be up about 8:40am. That's just enough time for breakfast, shower, getting changed and walking to work. It's the mid-season sales on the 22nd, so they usually need me in at specific times, and when they say need.... they're being modest. It's mental!

As it is, finishing time is touching 3:30am for me at times. We'll see though... I can probably sleep until race quali and it'll do me fine until the end of my shift the next day. Thankfully I'm only on 4 hours that day.
