ALMS Season V

You can change tc during the race? I was running the tc on 2 because I was not used to the car.
James thanks for a**hole move with 3 laps to go! I know it was not a points race but you didn't even complete 1 lap. Going backwards down the track, stopping at every corner, then to top it off doing donuts on top of the hill! If you didn't want to race that's fine but pull over or back out. I was catching stormy then BAM!! Please don't do that during a points race, Please!!
I couldn't see him, thankfully.

James, buck you're god forsaken ideas up! I swear you do this deliberately. Do not affiliate yourself with any form of racing series unless you're going to drive properly, or improve. I find it hard to believe that anyone is stupid enough to do that sort of thing without it being intentional about it. I didn't see it, but given that one race at Monza last season in Rolex, I can imagine what it looked like. I find it a miracle that the mods haven't banned you yet, because you must have complaints galore about this from other GTP members.

WEC 6 hours of brazil is on right now.

Waltrip ferrari just topped a lola austin martin on the first lap. Rode the top of the lola. lol...

I think you're being a baby by saying things like that. You took pole at Daytona, what happened? If you're a 'purist' then run the cars how they run IRL like you say. TC controls excessive wheelspin, it doesn't help cornering speeds, or give you a higher top speed. I ran in the Rolex series without TC, but if it's allowed I use it. Not everyone here has a fancy wheel setup or money to get one. There's guys who run in LMP and GT now that run TC, are you going to quit GT too since it isn't pure enough?

Doesn't excessive wheelspin hurt tires? I'm not following you there. If your wheels are spinning doesn't that mean you're not going anywhere? Nothing against the series, but I like driving the car without any help. If I remember right Seth, you had TC on 6 in the Rolex series at Nurb GP/F too. Just saying. It doesn't matter if you have a "fancy setup" with a wheel or not. I can run lap times within a half second of the G27 with the ds3 at the majority of tracks without running tc.

I'm sorry if I have made people mad, and I am not trying to start a war on this thread.

You ran Rolex with me w.o. tc before, and still lost out to me iirc. I just use it when it's available. And again, I had these LMP's (and group c's) set up to run 900hp, lets see you run 900hp without tc. Like I said, you can adjust it during the race if you set it up to do so in your in game settings menu. Don't come at me like you know what I do. I adjusted it accordingly. The last time I ran in Rolex it was w.o. tc. Don't be mad because you're not as fast as someone else. Anthony wasn't using tc, and he's sometimes faster than me when I was using the Bentley.

I'm still trying to figure out why having an aid that controls excessive wheelspin doesn't help tire wear.

And I'd rather a war wouldn't start. If that's the way you like to drive, so be it.
But I'm pretty sure that the rules are that you can make 1 car change but not a class change...

You're right. I'm not trying to start another war here. It seems like my opinion isn't respected here though.

I'm not going to request a change because IRL ALMS uses TC. If I decide to continue racing, I will be in GT.

Because with or without TC, my tire wear was the same in Rolex. 500hp with these cars isn't going to shred the rear tires. It helps you not to lose TRACTION. That means you're less likely to break free when putting the power down.

You criticized people saying tc is for babies. When you drive your car (or any car) it has traction control, I don't think you believe babies drive. 👍

Guys, does anyone remember Spa, last season? I used traction control ==> was scared of ruining people's races. I was 10 seconds slower because of the TC. Traction control is challenging to work with. It will slow you down A LOT.

Well, I got Motegi now. And a brand new headset to boot!

So Madrid's next, huh? That was the first course I ever ran with an organized online series back when Tanren ran his GT3 series. I didn't like this course because my Mustang didn't want to turn. But got fourth in the round, second in the next round.

I hate city courses in general.

I was supposed to get on and turn out some laps so GHS can see where the Evora is at. But my daughter all of a sudden wanted to start racing today. Shes all about the Karts in Kart Space. Its pretty awesome, shes already understanding the concept of throttle control around the corners.

At what age, if you don't mind me asking?

Dammit! They got the 2D in the OCD, but not the 2J.

Shes only 6. I got her going down route x right now in the proto jag . Having a hell of a time trying to keep ot srtaight.

I thought you had all the cars in the game already.

That's pretty impressive.

Not the 2J. Damn thing's been ever elusive to me. Only showed up once, back when I first started my game.

I'm not trying to be difficult here, but it is the law for all cars sold in America to have traction control.

^^ It proves Seth's point. Also, my Accent (in American spec) doesn't have any driving aids. That's a 2009 model.

Seth, please think a little bit more before you post.
I realize you may not mean it, but you sound like a bit of an a**. Just read what you post from the other person's perspective then think about how you'd react to that type of thing being aimed at you.

How did I come off an ass? I just answered dude's question. Maybe the words don't read how they're meant. But this is the internet, we all know how that happens. I think calling people babies that use traction control is being an ass. I personally don't care what people think. But it's not right to say things like that, especially because there are others who may need it to control their car. I apologize if I offend anyone, but I'm not going to call out people for using abs or tcs or even skid recovery force.

^^ Makes sense.

I'll just have to buy older cars then. :yuck: 2011 was a bad year in car history.

Basically all cars had TC or some form of stability control well before 2011 because it insurance companies would lower your payment if you drove a car that had it. That pretty much made the automakers put stability control on the cars. It was another thing the car makers could advertise as a safety feature.

Only car it affected was the doge viper!

At motegi do y'all want to race the same car. Figured we have a few weeks to figure it out. Like a ZR1 RM, Audi R8 lm (road race car), Ford lm or put it to a vote. What y'all think?? That way everyone has the same car, like an old iroc race!!

^^ Not Hyundai in '09. THAT makes me happy. ABS & TCS bug me.

I tested the Evora last night with gatrs new specs. I was getting 1:22's and some change at Madrid. I hit a 21 but that was only once, 22's should be the pace for me tomorrow.

Anyone in GT been able to test yet? I want to make sure the specs are equal before we race.

2.08 update.... slow tire wear during endurance races.. Finally!!

I'll be on around 8-9 pm tonight for testing. I'll post my times when I'm done.

Say whaaaa?!?!?!?! Too bad I'm starting to like sport tires more than racing. To little to late. :(

They should just add more options for tire wear that way you could choose between sprint and endurance it would also make testing easyer because who knows if you will be able to test the new endurance tire wear in your lounge.
