ALMS Season V

I have both Motegi and Spa, so it isn't a problem for me. I bought a $10 PSN card when Motegi went out which has me covered. I should actually be there this week. High school football games have had me busy for the last few weeks.

If spa is not gonna be for points could we look into making a caution system? Cause if me and gta hadn't crashed coming into turn 2 at daytona we both would of had a shot at the win.

I like things here the way they are. Bearing in mind I left you for dead in a half-cocked car, and you kept going off track, and I wasn't the one who won at Daytona.... I'm doubting that a lot. Sorry.

I dont like that idea. It slows down the race. Gets me out of any kind of groove I'm in.

So does getting wrecked because someone has bad tires and they hit grass and hit the wall where you have no where to go. Lets try cautions at spa and if no one likes it then we won't do it.

Were not doing cautions in this series period there is no danger or debris on the track in a video game, if you dont like it go back to grand am lol.

Haha very funny I can't.

You try to implement ideas, but they're frowned upon. You could try it in another series that maybe you run or have a part in running. But it seems your ideas aren't very popular, James. You had decent speed in the Toyota GT-One last season. Then out of nowhere you crash and burn. If it's consistency that's the issue, try running against your ghost in offline practice mode. That helps me try to keep pace with the best possible lap I've run and gauge tire wear at the same time.

So who is ready for tonight I know I am I got my card to get spa and motegi and I'm ready to go.

I'll try hosting again. Hopefully, I wont screw it up this time.

Want me to use a surprise car for the race for the GT class? I'll actually try to race it too. I'll see what Gatrs think too.

Are we doing the split again like last season where everyone races LMP then GT?

I am also currently downloading 4.25 for my PS3. Having trouble downloading it. Anyone else having problems with it? Currently downloading it via PC, then I'm going to transfer it to my PS3 if the PS3 fails again.

Looks like I'm having issues again with speed this time. My upload is faster than my download right now.

I won't be racing today guys, since it's not for points I'm going to take a little break, someone please test the new Evora specs and current Viper specs while I'm gone, thanks!

Is it ok to race in anything since it's not actually part of the season? Within reason of course... as in, something from the list of cars.

I'm switching to GT. I am not pleased with the LMP after today. TC makes cars more stable plus it makes your tire wear better, and I am what you call a "purist" by some terms. I think TC is for babies who can't control a car, but I'm not going to try to change the rule because LMP's use TC IRL. That's why I am going to move to GT. I will take either the Viper or the Vette. I appreciate the good racing this series provides. 👍

So, how many races did I ruin tonight?

GT also uses TC in real life as far as I know. But I'm not sure if Gatrs will allow a change halfway through the season.

Don't leave the team, the TC is allowed but, I never use it. You can use it if you want, it is not mandatory!!

What's all this about TC?

To be competitive in LMP, you have to use TC IMO this season. I have no tuning experience tuning cars with TC. I just don't have the speed you have Ant. That shows how fast you are. :)

I feel like I can be more competitive in GT even if people use TC. LMP is a handful to control compared to GT. That's why TC is a huge advantage in LMP.

I'm not happy with LMP because of TC, so I am switching classes. :)

The LMP race went longer than expected. I left after that race. Dont know if the second race was held. But the room was almost empty when I left, so I doubt it.

I'll let you know what kind of times I'm getting at Madrid tomorrow. I have to warn you though, city tracks are not my strong suit. So the times may be slower than average.

Welcome to GT CND. We need all the help we can get over here. I think pretty much all the cars minus the Lotus are up for grabs.

I'm with you on the TCS. I get the LSD to do all the work. But I think in the beginning (season 1) this was supposed to be a newb friendly league. At one point I think we even allowed the racing line. We might even allow it now.

I think you're being a baby by saying things like that. You took pole at Daytona, what happened? If you're a 'purist' then run the cars how they run IRL like you say. TC controls excessive wheelspin, it doesn't help cornering speeds, or give you a higher top speed. I ran in the Rolex series without TC, but if it's allowed I use it. Not everyone here has a fancy wheel setup or money to get one. There's guys who run in LMP and GT now that run TC, are you going to quit GT too since it isn't pure enough?

I can drive with or with out tc even in lmps but if the series alows it I will use it but not above a setting of 2. TBH Im quite sick of ppl who say they are purists, like was pointed out earlyer gt and lmps do use tc irl.
I find the "purist" attitude to be quite moronic the only way it makes sense is if you are driving a car that has no tc irl. In wich case I think the option for tc on said car should not exsist, but thats up to pd to get right so you can bet every car in every version of gt will probably be able to use tc. Dont know why pd claims gt to be the real driving sim but they cant get this right.

Every road car has some form of traction control, and 90% of them can't have it defeated. Only cars like Ferrari's Lamborghini's LFA Zonda etc. have that option. Hell, Ferrari's have some of the best form of 'traction control' driving aids there is. I had TC on 6 tonight because I didn't tune the car for this series. I had it running around 800hp for some spot race that I wound up winning with another lmp. I forgot to change it, but when you go to settings, you can set it so you can change the TC on the fly in the race. I find running it on 3 max is best. Anything much higher and it takes away from your acceleration. I dropped it to to 4 during the race and it wasn't helping any. So I ran it at 2 and it allowed more 'freedom' in the rear.

I felt embarrassed by my performance in LMP last night. Even though I was slower in quali, at points I wasn't really that far off the pace until I got completely skew-wiff at certain corners; my consistency was way off last night. I didn't have the tyre life as a result, and while my tune wasn't exactly horrible, It coulda done with a little more work.

You can change tc during the race? I was running the tc on 2 because I was not used to the car.
James thanks for a**hole move with 3 laps to go! I know it was not a points race but you didn't even complete 1 lap. Going backwards down the track, stopping at every corner, then to top it off doing donuts on top of the hill! If you didn't want to race that's fine but pull over or back out. I was catching stormy then BAM!! Please don't do that during a points race, Please!!
