ALMS Season V

What little clips they had of night racing were .

Someone said it was coming to PS3. But I dont see something like that running on PS3. I'd still be happy with a scaled down version though.

Most definitely not GT6. I can tell even without that comment. For instance, the GT6 logo at the end was obviously Photoshoped, poorly.

^ All logos are photoshopped.

Well, that may be true, you little...

Nah, I was getting at the fact that it was Photoshoped by an amateur who was just looking for quick views. But you probably already knew that!

Yeah. I'm an amateur comedian, looking for giggles, but you probably knew that, too.

I really don't understand what's so great about blatantly lying on YouTube.

Otherwise, "Slightly Mad Studios" was the first clue I bothered to notice.

WMD are planning to release it into consoles, but they're working on PC for now, including licenses (e.g. Spa was named "Belgian Forest"). The unfortunate thing is that it will most likely be scaled down.

Announcement
The incident regarding freshseth and unrealanthony has been reviewed and the following has been decided upon:

Stormy puts a nice perspective on the incident.
In Seth's video ("His view"), first contact came 10 seconds into the video, just short of the actual turn. In Anthony's video, contact came afterwards right at the corner. (meaning some lag can be attributed to this)

By either time, contact came after Anthony was ahead of Seth, meaning that proper room must have been given. It appeared that Seth didn't give that room, which caused Anthony to collide with the inside barrier and, as a result, caused Seth to colide with the outside barrier.

That being said, this can also be considered an unsafe pass. The road is a bit too narrow and can barely fit two cars. Barely should be stressed as ant would have had enough room had Seth given him a little more.

So this can basically be coined an Ayrton Senna pass attempt and an Alain Prost defense maneuver.

Seth has been warned for blocking and both drivers will receive a 10 point penalty for excessive and heated discussion of the matter in the thread.
A 5 trillion dollar fine will go with this points deduction. Checks can be made out to "gogatrs."

Announcement
Further more, both drivers, Seth and Ant, must start from the back of field for multiple unsafe passing procedures when passing lapped traffic, namely the GT field. Please make sure that when lapping traffic, that you guys take extra care in passing the GT field. Coupled with a heavier body and less downforce, the GT field can use only RM tires as well, meaning they can not turn as efficiently as the LMP field. We know that you guys are racing, but try to pace down a bit when you come across the GT field.

Also, the blend line rule is now in effect. DO NOT CROSS THE BLEND LINE WITH ALL FOUR TIRES WHEN RACING OR PITTING OUT. It is placed there to prevent accidents. This will lead to a penalty equal to the severity of the offense. Further information will be given for each of the remaining races regarding the blend line.

Updated Standings

Round 1: Daytona
Round 2: Suzuka
Round 3: Monza
Round 4: Monaco
Round 5: Indianapolis
Round 6: Madrid

I get a warning for blocking? I had to turn to the right to take the turn. There was no block. If I had blocked he wouldn't have gotten that line. I don't think anyone should try a pass there when you have a braking zone right ahead that can be used to pass. That's why I took the turn as I did the lap before. It doesn't matter, I plan on having a much faster pace come Laguna Seca.

The reason you couldn't take the turn exactly the way you did the lap before is because there was a car there, and he was ahead of you at the time! It was his turn. You're lucky all you're getting is a warning. The only reason you don't have a penalty is because you've already paid for it.

So you're not taking my word on it then? I didn't throw a block on the guy, if I did I would have been on the right hand side before the incident took place. When I said I took the turn like I did the lap before, that means I turned to the right, like you're suppose to do in that turn. I had to turn right or else i would have hit the wall. The LMPs have a lot of speed going through there and you have to turn at a certain point or else you will hit the wall to the left. He is the one that touched the wall to the right then smashed me to the left. I tried my best to give room, but i don't have a wheel so I have to turn in sharply with the ds3. Do you get what I'm saying?

In the replays, the sharp turn looked like it pincered Ant into the right hand wall. Of course, that meant that when he rebounded that it put you into the left wall, so you ended up on the worse foot overall. Hence why no penalty. Although, I can understand about the DS3 part you're trying to explain, since I use one too.

As it's been said, Ant's been warned (penalised?) for taking that move on such a tight part of the track.

I accept the penalty, just wanted to clarify that I wasn't trying to 'block' him, I can't block someone beside me. I give room, I moved over. I saw him in my rear view and gave him the right side of the track. If I wanted to block I could have moved over to the right before we turned. That's what I'm trying to get out there.

Yes, but the turn was his. You turned into him. Maybe blocking isn't the best word for it, but it was his turn and you hit him. You should have turned in later or broke so he could have the turn.

Further discussion of the matter will result in a one race ban and all penalties will be carried over to the next round.

So how about the other question I asked? How about the cars specs? I think The Toyota could do with 10 more horsepower. Instead of just it being two of us battling all the time, it'd be more fun if Sinladar's car was faster so he could contest for wins.

Ghs did you get the replay up yet. Last 2-3 laps. If not I'll try to post it later tonight. I haven't watched it yet. Was thinking today at work about sin in the lmp, he passed us then some how he got turn around. We were racing pretty hard. Good race! If I got into you sin, I'm sorry. Can't remember.

If there aren't any objections by Friday, I don't see why not.

I've decided on something different for LMP next season so we won't have to worry about the specs.

If they fix the tire wear situation the way we are hoping they will...I want to see you back and racing with us!!! FULL TIME!!!....please :)

I'm PLANNING on being there and maybe racing this week. Been using a VERY crude wheel stand lately. It's pretty sad actually.

I donno what you're deciding on LMP, but I might not race it next season if it's anything different from current cars were using. May try GT instead.

Just reposting something Seth said in the patch release thread:

Tire wear is MUCH better. In the sense that tire LIFE is now something with meaning. For instance, I was able to go 12 laps (offline and online) on a set of soft tires for ALMS series in my Bentley Speed 8, I just did 11 laps (offline) and still had over 90% tire life. I was able to get 1:14's for 10 laps straight barring a screw up.

WAHHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ghskilla
Christ. That is amazing. Amazing. These news just keep getting better, don't they?

Clutch supposedly is not any better, but that tire wear out weighs that by far.
Would like to see about the aero and ride height adjustments.

This is my findings so far. At Madrid offline I was able to do 12laps on a set of soft tires MAX before I had to pit. My best lap was a 1:14.8 before the race (so I went faster online because I did a 1:14.1 for qualifying). Well, I just took the same car, same tune same track, same offline practice mode and did a 1:14.3 and did 11laps on a set of softs with minimal wear. I was able to stay in the 1:14's EVERY lap but one where I had a slight screw up and did a 1:15. I'll post a picture for proof.
