Alonso joins Ferrari for £20m a year?

I guess that's a real possibility, specially if some the other news I've read are true ...

(i.e. McLaren will sack Alonso arguing that he broke his contractual duties. If that happens, I bet Alonso will go to court and most probably they'll reach a settlement later but, in the meantime, no other team will have him as their driver)
 
I don't see Alonso taking a sabbath... he seems to be too much on top of his game and Renault seems very interested in him.
 
In some respects I'd feel sorry for Heikki...he's out done Fisi this year and if Alonso goes back he's back to being forgotten and stuffed in the shadows whilst Briatori wipes Fernando's ass every mile of the way =X Oooh the Fernando hate takes another twist.

Seriously though, it would be best for Alonso, hopefully Heikki would understand...and even get one over him a few times...That would REALLY take the biscuit for Fernando, if he went to Renault and then got outdone by yet another rookie.
 
Heikki wouldn't be forgotten about, he'd give Lewis a good run for his money over at McLaren. ;)

Wouldn't that be a dream team to watch... and who knows... they might actually get along with each other too. :)
 
If ProDrive was real, and/or Renault came back on pace, and/or BMW gained those last tenths they missed this year... We could see this:

Kimi & Massa Vs. Hamilton & Rosberg Vs. Heikki & X Vs. Heidfeld & Kubica.


And a large dose of pure awesome.

Button and Heidfeld have both ruled themselves out for McLaren '08. Rosberg is a possibility but McLaren will have to pay Williams one hefty sum, whilst they could just swap Alonso for Heikki at Renault.

I know what I'd go for..
 
Are you sure you're not thinking of McLaren? :confused:

I don't think Rosberg's management are too keen on Nico joining Hamilton at McLaren - worried about the damage being paired with Lewis would do to his image and morale results wise, even though they're good friends.
 
If Alonso went back to Renault, I reckon Fisi would be out faster than you can say "Your rookie teammate outscored you this season, Giancarlo".

I think it would either be Alonso - Kovalainen or Alonso - Piquet Jr.

Heikki has said many times that he will never be 2nd fiddle to anyone, so I don't think that would work considering Flavio's recent comments about number one drivers.

Well...we'll find out soon enough either way, Ron Dennis expects his future at McLaren to be sorted in the next two weeks (as of 2 days ago)
 
I do beleive he will go to Renault, replacing Kovi who will drive at mclaren.
 
Well the frontpage of Autosport.com/f1 has the story of Alonso and McLaren parting ways but when you click it, the story doesn't come up.. Perhaps they are writing it as I type?
