I would have had a lot more points if I ran prototype from the beginning. Did pretty good though. No race wins but that's ok. At Monaco I had a great race going and had at least 2nd place coming before i got d/c- oh well. There's always next time.

We had a good little battle at the last race! I didn't put enough fuel in and ended up a half 3/4 lap shy. But the strategy was good!

On my 1st pit, which was like lap 8, I refueled like around 20-30 liters of gas, and I used up like 50-60 liters prior of pitting. On the last lap, when you ran out of gas, I has less than 20 liters left. And since gas has weight in this game, I gained a bit of time each lap as the gas is used up.

Wait really gas has weight in GT5? Wow did not know that but adds a bit to strategy.

EDIT: Anyone got a gold chrome I'll give a car in return? Trying to make a JDX Racing Porsche 911 replica of a RUF RGT...

I actually think it would be fun if we had to all replicate actual teams for the series.

I think it has weight. As my gas started going really low, I gained a bit of time on my lap times, like around tenths of seconds. I remember there was some threads discussing about that, and concluded they have weight, which is thoroughly investigated and supported. Not sure which, though.

EDIT: Try the Marketplace, bro. You'll need something in exchange, though, as those paint chips are a pain to obtain.

Sure, I'll send you one tonight.
I don't need any cars in return.

I do like the idea of replicating real teams.
The BMW M3 team could be white with blue or red rims.
Jaguars are black with green rims.
Ferraris are either Risi red or Patron black and green.
RUFs are... Hmm not sure how we'd do Lizards or Falken without being able to paint the rims.
Vettes are yellow.

What would the ALMS Ford GT look like? Chrome with black stripes and yellow wheels?

Or red wheels.
Matte silver might work too.
So which class combo do you guys wanna run next season?

Anything with a McLaren :dopey: but seriously, isn't anything other than LMP and GT + GTC going to be going against your want of it being realistic for season 3?...

I suppose, but I do intend on bumping up the weight limit for GT so the Jag and BMW are more competitive. Which means GTC will be way slow.
And IF we're low on drivers, I'll allow the McLaren to run unclassified at GT(2) specs.

The fact that GTC kind of died out is why I want to try GT1/2.
We'll be using the RGT in GTC FYI.

I doubt that the McLaren will be returning :P

Yeah, too slow and uncompetitive....

I'd still rather not race but if a McLaren is allowed in at any point I'll happily take up a grid position. Other than that, NRG Racing will not return for season 3.

This is how to kill a class. Not only will the lighter cars need more power to cart around the extra weight but they'll then understeer more than before and go through tyres like crazy. Kick the cars that can't make weight (who used the Jag, BMW or Aston this season other than Sparty/Rocko?) and drop the weight to the lowest the remaining lot can all get to.

Back to work on that victory poster...

For a car?
