No power where I am, odds of it coming back tomorrow are very slim. Other than that I'm fine 👍

Good to hear that you are ok. I know Sandy has been a "Charlie Foxtrot" to the Northeast. Hopefully you can get things sorted out by the time the season starts. 👍

Tomorrow start the season or not? and I read on the rules something about the cautions, do we have cautions this season?

The season starts in two weeks, unless I push back the pre-season due to Sandy, which probably wont happen.

At this time, we aren't using cautions because we are using light damage. I wouldn't mind using heavy damage if everyone else wants to.

Glad to hear our fellow racers on the east coast doing good!

I think heavy damage+cautions are a good idea. It might make people more careful and it makes it more realistic.

"Oh I just slamed head on into a wall!"
"Its okay just keep driving for half a lap and it will be all fixed."

I think a 1.51.8 is the absolute balls out best I could get. I'm sure I can still improve my average lap which is about 1.52.1.
I was originally a second off that when I started, but I tuned the car a little and hit a 1:52.066. Not bad considering I have max downforce (0 / 40) and about 30 bhp less than the second less powerful GT car. That said, the Ford is a beast of a machine, and to get close to your times is impressive anyway.

I want heavy damage also. If we do that though, I think we need to make the races longer. But then I think about heavy damage at Sarth. :scared:

Not to pick on anyone in particular, but with some of the drivers being new to this series, I think it's best we have light damage.

Good time mate 👍 Looks like I will definitely have some competition from you tomorrow. :)

I'm really on the fence about damage. I don't have an opinion about cautions either. The only thing with cautions is that the whole pitting under caution, wave by's, line up, etc. has to be written down as a rule in order for cautions to be done in an orderly fashion.

I think that heavy damage would be fun, at some tracks, Monaco it would be a disaster at. Cautions are hit or miss, we start at 9 eastern, and the races are about a hour, so that puts us at 10. Cautions add more time to races if people are idiots. Make sure you say that "Just because you got damage, DOESN'T meant there is a caution"

Don't worry. There will be certain conditions that would constitute a caution.

The rules will be rewritten about cautions to accommodate situations.

Also, the thread has also been updated with a poll. Please review the poll options and cast your vote.

I was also going to open a practice room later, but then I got AC3. So if anyone wants to host the room, please be sure to post the room number.

Has the poll been made public? That way we can weed out all the people who vote but don't compete.

No, I forgot to do that. Can you change the settings on a poll?

I'll say I voted for heavy damage with cautions.

I voted for this because heavy damage will be a mess at Monaco.

I will regret my vote if every time someone gets damage they call a caution... That isn't racing, that's being a ****

My opinion? Leave the trial stuff for the no-points races at the middle and end of the season.

Doing it right off the bat is chaos; giving the new drivers the usual layout for the first preseason race gives them time to scope out what each person is like to race against, which can then be considered if we trial run a heavy damage no-points race, which comes after we've seen even more of what we're like to race with.

If we decide to add cautions at the get-go, we will need a longer preseason to get everyone used to the caution policy.

I voted no cautions light damage, I agree with seth on this one. Also with so many people this season heavy damage can cause a series to become verry volatile and unhospitable place when tempers start to flare. I feel like the series should just stick to what has made it work for so long, no need to mess with success.

Also only votes from full time drivers should count imo.

@CND ~ True, but don't forget that there's the Spa and Motegi exhibition races between Round 4 & 5.

That would be a great time to implement cautions, but I don't want to change the regular season mid-season. If we do go with cautions, I want them from week 1.

Although I would like to see heavy damage, I voted light damage no cautions. Heavy damage would be as realistic as possible to me. But this is a video game and we have to deal with things like lag.

And my inconsistent driving.
