Wow, the GT2 looks awesome. Was about to get upset that a new wheel was releasing since I just got my GT3RS until I read the feature comparison. Still wouldve been nice to have X360 support and light up buttons but not for the extra cost. Still really sharp in the dark grey.

Now I just wish Fanatec would spill on the new Clubsport shifter and eBrake.

i think the clubsport shifter wont be heard of until at least march 2011.

what feature comparison suggests the gt3rs is better than the gt2?

this is sort of a pointless post but i'm just makkng sure

The successor to the Turbo was the Carrera
The successor to the Turbo S was the GT2
and the successor to the GT3 RS was the GT3 RS V2

The Carrera is the entry level (PS3/PC) wheel. There is no predecessor.

The successor to the Turbo is the Turbo S (same as Turbo, but with added Xbox functionality).

The GT3RSv2 is just a GT3RS with upgraded firmware, and a few tweaks.

The GT2 is a Turbo S. It just has the wheel rim of the GT3RS, and a different paint job. I imagine this is how they were able to get around the 10,000 unit limit, imposed by Microsoft, of the Turbo S. Not to mention, a lot of people wanted a GT3RS with Xbox functionality. So, combine PWTS with GT3RS and Voila!... A new wheel!

He means that he compared the features of the two wheels and decided that Xbox functionality (and back-lit buttons) wasn't enough reason for him to upgrade to the GT2.

;)

I wasn't around when the Turbo S was available. What was the cost of the wheel itself when it was available? Also, why did Microsoft limit production to 10K units?

There was a preorder period when I believe you could get a Turbo S ClubSport Edition for as low as $399, but otherwise the MSRP was basically in line with the the current GT2 pricing.

i think that i have found out what the prices of the GT2 would be in Australia
The GT2 standard would cost a good $400-$500 AUD
and the clusbport edition would cost anywhere from $600-$800 AUD
unless Thomas has the power to lower these prices (which i think he can't) then its going to be hard to afford one of these. $249.95 USD is around $270 AUD but by the time it gets to australia it rises $200. The GT3 RS is only $179.95 but here in the AUS its $299.95. I'm trying my best not to complain but i'm am just saying what it is

Hi guys i have a problem with my PWC pedals. In GT5 the gas is permanently pushed at about 10-15%. I dont think this was happening like a week ago when i bought GT5 and it certainly didn´t hapen when i was playing Prologue. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

Please anyone..

I dont wear shoes.. only sometimes on my left foot for clutch. I have tried to push it back or correct it somehow but that didn´t help either.
So i will try to make a video. Thanks

Finally had time to try my GT3RS V2 with CSP. At first I didn't have the 900 degree steering turned on. Even then it seemed more stable. Once I switched it it became so much easier to use then my old Driving Force wheel. Before I had trouble slipstreaming. My car was always moving side to side, but now I can easily line up behind. I just feel like I have much finer control

The Clubsport pedals are night and day above my previous plastic pedals. I love the load cell brake. It just feels so real. I wasn't pushing it hard enough at first and was overshooting corners. Now it's so easy to use. I need to shorten the travel some because the default setting seems way to long. Still haven't used the clutch and shifter. Will try that later.

I find the Rennsport stand a big upgrade from having the wheel in my lap. It's very sturdy and can easily positioned in the right place. I'd like to tilt the pedals a little though
Overall I'm very impressed with my purchase. I'd highly recommend this combination

Quick question regarding the Rennsport Stand...

No matter how hard or tight I turn the knob at the bottom of the stand while playing I notice that the column will move back and forth slightly. Is this normal behaviour? I've tightened with all my strength but slowly but surely the whole thing moves. It doesn't move to the point of it folding up on itself but I'd like to make it more stationary. Any idea if this is just normal play?

A quick question. How does it move? Does it bounce back or does it stay there? You probably have the V2 and unfortunately I'm not familiar with then new mechanism.

I have a Rennsport stand and find this to be common. I have movement from my stand but its the whole stand, not just the vertical column that the wheels mounted to. Its going to move because the whole setup is no directly bolted to anything like it would be in a cockpit. If it doesnt bother your driving then I wouldnt really worry about it. 👍

Question about the new GT2 wheel.
So there is really no reason to buy this wheel if I already have the GT3RS correct? All I would be getting is the xbox compatibility? It has the same features as the RS wheel right? Its more expensive too?

Sounds like the RS would be a better deal if your not wanting the 360 compatibility....

@audi S4: You're getting: Xbox compatibility, wireless connectivity (Xbox natively, PC&PS3 with an optional USB dongle) and illuminated buttons. I think that's it! Wheel is more expensive because of these extra features and because of Microsoft licensing.

Glad to hear you got it up and running. :)

Did you get the shifter adapter that connects to the stand or is your shifter attached to the wheel itself?

I see your from Sask. same as me. :) Did your wheel come via Canada post with no extra shipping charges or brokerage fees?

Need some help guys...

I received my GT3RS ClubSport edition less than a week ago. Here's the issue, my ClubSport Pedal is unresponsive when I turn on my PS3 and play GT5 game. The only way I can get my pedals to work is to connect it to a PC and update the firmware using the PW Utility. Once I start the boot loader and update the firmware (to any firmware), the pedal starts working. I am not sure why, but that's the only way I can get it to work.

Any ideas how to resolve this?!

Is it the brand new version of the stand that is supposed to allow you some adjustment of the vertical angle, or is the older style that only locks into two positions: vertical and folded?

I have the older style and it locks into position very firmly. There's a little bit vibration, but there's no actual slop where the vertical support and base meet. I just make sure to roughly hand tighten the knob, jiggle a bit, and then tighten some more, repeating until there's no slop in the locking mechanism.

Hi, Rennsport stand V1(or prev possibly as well). End of adjustment screw taper is too shallow, mine worked OK, but for no movement, wants tightened really tight/ hard. Iv'e put a bit more taper on end & modded hole in tube as well. Careful you ain't much thread to play about with. It still could be better thou.
Best bet would be to buy a longer stud, taper end well, adapt or tighten with a spanner etc. Be careful because its just tube inside, don't over tighten & crush tube.
Its been gone over before ie another thread somewhere.
But tighting/ adjustment stud & hole, do want changing(maybe as/ will be on V2). Wouldn't hurt to extend solid metal insert in bottom tube(for Ali feet), if poss/ easy to do, a bit more & drilling into that for adjustment hole. No tube to flex bend then as well.

Cheers BOB

I got the separate shifter mount.

Mine came USPS/Canada Post. I had to pay 65 dollars for duties/taxes/brokerage on all 4 pieces. I think that's alot cheaper then UPS

Yeah that's not to bad i guess. The wheel is not made in USA so i guess that's why the duty but i didn't think Canada post charged brokerage fees. :(

A handling fee of $5CDN per dutiable or taxable mail item is applied ($8CDN for EMS items). This fee is in line with the government’s efforts to help recover costs from those who benefit from services, and is similar to arrangements in the United States and other countries.

That fee only applies when CBSA checks your package.

I would expect to get taxed and dutied but consider it a bonus when your packages goes through customs unchecked.

So last night I finally tried racing in GT5 using the shifter. I pressed the triangle button before the game because I read somewhere that's how you enable the clutch. Anyways, while driving I can engage the clutch and it seems to work however the shifter doesn't do anything. The paddle shifters (on the Porsche Turbo S wheel) works but the shifter doesn't do anything. Is there a configuration issue I'm missing. I rowed the shifter to each of the gears and the nothing happened in the game (the car was in manual mode and the paddle shifters worked).

Also, when the fan comes on it brings a loud intermittent sound. It sounds as though something is hitting the fan or something weird. I've also had this happen while driving and when I apply the brakes. I was using the Lexus IS F and was braking hard as I was getting used to the car and the wheel. After the fan came on every time I applied the brakes the loud buzzing sound would come on. If I pushed down on the housing very hard it would not be as loud. Is this normal? Is there any way I can fix it?

Thats weird, there was no charge on my order when Canada Post dropped it off. All I had paid was the original shipping fee to Fanatec. Count myself lucky I guess.
