The tuning functions of the PWC are exactly the same as all other Fanatec wheels. No tips for setup. The only thing I would suggest is to calibrate your wheel and shifter (read the manual).

Other than that. Enjoy your wheel!

;)

Cool. I'll definitely poke around through the manual, then, and make sure to calibrate the thing first off.

can someone please tell me if the carrera wheel works with ps2 games, like gt3 and gt4 thanks

The Carrera wheel will only work on PS3 or PC. That being said, if your PS3 is backwards compatible, you can play GT4, Enthusia, WRC, etc...

GT3, on the other hand...

No.

GT3 is not compatible with Fanatec wheels. For that, the DFGT is your best bet.

;)

The electronics of PWC and GT3RS V2 (not V1) are almost identical. It should work but chances are higher if you use a PS2 to play the games.

So I broke the PS/2 cable that attaches to the Club Sport pedal:ouch:

Its not easy to find a Male to Male PS/2 cable. If I splice two cables together do you guys think that will work?

They're easy to find at OEM PC stores if you live in a big city or order online from monoprice.com

I found one on amazon.ca. Price seems good for the 10ft of length you get. Amazon is not my favorite place to look for computer parts but it should work out fine for you.

I've spliced USB cables before and they worked just fine. I soldered the wires together. I'm sure even twisting and good tape would work fine until you get a new cable.

Anybody in the US/Canada order the Fanatec shifter combo in the last few months and receive it yet? The website is now saying January which worries me.

I ask because in some other threads people have mentioned already receiving theirs and I'm trying to get an idea of how backed up Fanatec is.

I ordered on October 23rd and the wait is killing me. That clubsport clutch just sitting there in plain view but completely non-functional... :(

Yea monoprice has them but since im in Canada it will take 2 weeks to arrive. I'm in a big city but all I can find are Male to female or male to usb.

Where in Canada are you?

For online you could check ncix.com or newegg.ca, maybe ever tigerdirect.ca (although I'm not a big fan of their's).

For local, well depends on where you are. In Montreal you can check Addison, DDO Electronics or Abra. Elsewhere you can check The Source by Circuit City although I'm sure you have some electronics surplus stores that are local.

I'm in Vancouver and this cable can't be found, I've looked everywhere: BB, FS, CC, LD, OD, Staples, Wal-Mart, NCIX. Everyone has Male to Female so my only option is to buy two identical male to female PS/2 cable and splice them. Otherwise I'm going to waste a week or more waiting for mail delivery.

I tried using some cables I had around the house but each one had a different colour coding to the wires inside, I unsheathe them and tested each with a multi-meter but I kept getting three 5V lines...so I have no idea how to match them up. One should be 5v, one data and another clock.

I tried using two PS/2 to usb adapters with the usb cable sandwiched in between but that wouldn’t work either, not sure why, I thought for sure that would be a fix.

Why oh why must Fanatec use such a stupid cable

Mostly pissed off beacuse I'm on holidays for a bit and I wanted to play with my toys.:grumpy:

For a PS/2 cable I think you're looking too "high end". Look for a divey independent computer shop, especially one that deals in used equipment. They usually have piles of outmoded cables that nobody wants any more.

Hope you get it soon man, would suck to get it and two days later see the Clubsport shifter is coming out :ouch:

I'm in Vancouver and I was among the first 100 people to get the Fanatec Turbo S retail edition and Thomas forgot to include the PS2 cables for the pedals so I had to go to the store and buy one while I waited. First place I went had one it was New Type Computer Workshop on Pacific St. It cost about $6 it was white, but had to do until I got the black one in the mail.

Thanks, I forgot about New Type. Crazy thing is that I was parked about 50ft away from the store yesterday. I also didn't get a cable for the shifter.

Mine was missing the ps2 cable that went from the pedal adapter to the wheel, at that time I was using my G25 pedals. Luckily, I had the ps2 cable that came with the gear shift so I was able to use that for the pedal adapter and just drove without the shifter, until I went to store.

It's been almost a month since I ordered my Gt3 combo and other accessories including the tuning kit, yet I have not received any item out of three shipments.
Every time I check USPS it states that they were notified to pick up the shipments but doesn't necessarily mean that they pick it up also Canada Post shows error when I tried to track it!
Despite several back and forth correspondence with Fanatec and even the California warehouse staff the replies were only speculations and nobody knows what is going on. I asked for a refund (which I hate since I really like the items) but again I was told to wait for the shipment to arrive then I can reject the delivery!
In light of this, I depleted all communication channels and reached a dead end, can anyone from Fanatec inform me of what is going on? Where is my stuff?

Please advise,

Man, after reading several of the horror stories on here about Fanatec's customer service, I'm wondering if I should just buy a G27? I was about to place an order on Monday for a GT2 Clubsport package, but what good is build quality if it isn't backed by service....wether it be prodcut support or something as simple as shipping. Hopefully it all works out for you man. Not sure if Fanatec is the way I should go now.

I placed an order for a GT2 but I must say I'm very impressed with their service. I've asked many questions directly too Thomas and he has answered all of them in a matter of a couple of hours. Who are you contacting that is not responding??

He's contacted no-one, but he has HEARD that their customer support is slow.

Capt aaa and Sheck, I placed 4 orders with Fanatec on Nov 12. My CSP color kit (red) arrived Nov 18. My Turbo S ( one of the ABSOLUTE last NIB available 👍 ) and CSP's arrived Nov 29. My CF paddles which they warned were back ordered arrived Dec 10. I have a Tracking # and Scheduled delivery date of Dec 15 for my CSP Tuning kit ( which also was on back order). On Dec 7 I placed another order, this one for the shifter mount and plate. I have the Tracking # and a Scheduled delilvery date of Dec 16 (quick on this one).

I guess what I'm trying to say is try to relax. Granted it's not on the UPS truck within 24 hours but Paypal order date to in my den in 6, 17 and 9 days is not unreasonable to me. UPS Ground is 4 to 5 days CA to KY.

I'll admit, I too emailed them wanting to know what the holdup was. They said it was coming and it did. By my calculations (sequential order numbering) they are processing about 100 orders per business day FWIW.

Scotty

p.s. All are Xmas presents to me, lol, so I'm not supposed to open them........boy those CF paddles are SWEET to the touch and beautifully authentic carbon fiber.( I hope she's not reading my posts)

Thanks for the responses fellas. Glad to hear things worked out well. When I purchase things out of the country, I like to know that there's still good support, and any problems can be resolved relativey quickly. I play competitive paintball and deal VERY much with a company from the UK (I live on the east coast in the US), and they're service is some of the best customer service I've ever seen in any product I've ever had to deal with. If Fanatec can come even come close to them, I'm sure I'll be a very happy guy.

I will say, I would have already purchased the GT2 clubsport package, but I had a problem with they're shopping cart/checkout procedure. I tried to add a few things up via the cart to see how much it would cost to ship to here, and without finishing the order, it put the shopping cart orders as pending (even though I didn't complete the orders). There's no way for me to "edit/delete" the orders in my account and they say pending on all three. I'm not comfortable with completeing an order until I know they've been deleted so that when I do enter any paypal info in, they wont try to bill all three $600+ orders....lol. Sent them an email, my guess is that by the time I sent it they were either closed for the weekend, or didn't get it in time to reposnd before they did close? Hopefully I'll get it straigtened out on Monday, and I can place the order for the GT2 Clubsport package and the wheelstand (my girlfriend will throw me out of my house if she comes home and there's a cockpit in the entertainment loft).

Patience, wax on wax off. The goodness will remain long after memories of average timeliness are forgotten. By all accounts they are honest and stand behind their product.
