The V1 does not work in GT5, i don't know why, but you MUST get the v2 upgrade to play with GT5

This is definite? There always seems to be some confusion about Fanatec wheel compatibility - GT5P was in doubt, but it turned out to work fine.

This is taken from Thomas' Blog site:

2. 911 GT3RS V1 wheel

This wheel was never advertised to be fully PS3 compatible although it works with several games. Unfortunatly this is not the case for GT5. The good news are that you can upgrade your wheel to V2 and get full PS3 compatibility, more Tuning features and even the big ClubSport shifter paddles.

You can purchase the upgrade kits in our webshop but availability is limited due to the big demand.

Just hooked up my rs v2 for the first time. first elt me say gt5 just got a lot damn harder. My only question is while im driving down the straightaway the force feedback makes the wheel vibrate left then right repeatedly. and if i let go of the wheel it amplifies itself. Its very very difficult controlling the car doing down the straights without man handling the wheel holding it straight.

Current settings are
sen-900
ff=100
sho-100
dri-1
abs-85 (not that this should mater)
lin-0
dea-10

also in game is set at simulation and ff to 10.

what do i need to change to make the car drive straight and not go crazy?

Set "dea" =0 and ingame ffb =5 and report back.

I just posted this in another thread. It talks about wheel setup in GT5 a bit. Hope it helps....

"Not sure if you guys have or haven't seen this, but it talks a bit about some adjustments to make on GT5 that may help. It's around the 15:30 mark on the video."

"Due to the big demand from all the people we sold the GT3 RS wheel to" ?!

What kind of statement is that?!

Toyota: "you can purchase brake pedal "upgrade kits" for our dealerships, but availability is limited due to the big demand." What?!

My GT2 order status has changed to delivered this morning.

That's good news.

I canceled my Clubsport Edition and placed an order for just the GT2 wheel and the Clubsport pedals. They were holding the clubsport editions for the shifters to arrive sometime in January. I will use paddle shifters for awhile to see when the normal shifters come in stock, and hopefully the clubsport edition shifter will be released or more info released soon. Maybe I'll just hold out and apply the $50 for the shifter kit for the clubsport shifter.

Yep I just got an email from Fanatec saying my GT2 just shipped!!! Can't wait!!!

BTW I placed my order on December 5th.

I ordered the wheel and shifters only. I will be using with the G25 pedals.

Yeah to bad no shifters in stock. I wonder what they will charge to ship those out, they only seem to have a minimum charge. I'm in Canada and for fun i checked to see how much to ship a $2 cable and it was $28, lol.

How did you place your order? Was it for the Clubsport edition that includes the shifter or did you order everything separate?

And I placed two separate orders. One for the ClubSport Pedals(shipped last week) and one for the GT2 Wheel only. I'll order the shifters now since I didn't want their January release to delay my order.

I ordered a couple days ago, I just sent an email trying to drop the shifters as well. But then I realized, I ordered a wheel stand to which I think is on back order as well. I might as well have not even sent the email I guess.

I see they have just added TurboS wheel to the US-Canada page, $349 comes with shifter, standard pedals though. :( Doesn't say when they ship which is odd.

Yeah, I noticed this yesterday as I was playing around with my cart trying to order the wireless dongle. $30 part was $17 shipping. I removed it from my cart and added a $2 cable, and it was $17 shipping. My entire clubsport edition shipping was $22.

I'd like to place an order for GT2 and CSP but i also want RennSport Wheel stand and Shifter as well. I hate to get stuck with all the extra shipping etc. if i order separately. I'll likely just order the GT2 Clubsport and wheel stand and have to wait. :(

I ordered GT2 and Standard pedals, got an Email this morning saying it has shipped. Cant Wait!!!

Gotta wait till January to get the Shifter, but thats cool, making another order will give me justification to buy CSPs then too :)

I got notification that my wheel stand won't be delivered until 3rd week of January now, bummer as previously I was told December. My GT2 was ordered separately but without the wheel stand I can't use it anyway lol.

You got this notification form Fanatec? I have one order. Never heard anything from them about it.

Interesting reply from Fanatec.

I was just about to purchase a GT2, but perhaps I won't now if that is the type of reply I may expect :indiff:

Thanks for that update man. It's much appreciated. I never recieved anything like that and I have a couple email into Fanatec to see if I could shange my order up a bit...seeing as though they're not shipping things until orders are completely ready to ship.

Interesting reply from Fanatec.

Yeh, I hear ya man...it's a little concerning I guess. Really, the only reason I went with fanatec was for the use of the clubsports. Aside from those, I would have just bought the G27 for the better support from Logitech. You like to know that if you're dropping around $600 US on a wheel and some pedals, that getting in touch with someone isn't going to be an issue.

i think you guys need to consider the language barrier here. YES, they obviously speak and understand english, but some things do not carry well. happens a lot when i have dealt with european customers in the past. them saying to "send no further emails" is proper english but they do not consider tone like we might. sounds rude when we say/read it but they might im sure they dont mean it that way.

Can somebody post on the build quality of the Standard Fanatec pedals ? Are they comparable to the G25/G27 pedals ?

Thanks.

I strongly suggest to avoid the standard pedals. I've had a Turbo S wheel for less than a month and think it's fantastic. However, the standard pedals are a completely different story. They stopped working properly already and have the unwanted brake input that seems to be so common. The situation is worse when the clutch is used and it seems that even using some epoxy on the potentiometers, as suggested by some people, is not a definite solution. Basically, these pedals look like a cheap plastic toy compared to the wheel.

Now, the other big problem is trying to get a reply from customer service. I've been waiting for more than a week and who knows how long it's going to take. So my recommendation is to go with the Clubsport pedals, which seem to be great and much better than the G25/G27 pedals, and hope that you never have a problem with any Fanatec product.

I wonder how many emails Shecki and Spyder have into Fanatec. lol. The over under is 3........ dozen.
