Introducing the new Fanatec Porsche 911 GT2
PWGT2blog.jpg

Looks hot.

;)

I really like the way the GT2 looks. Very understated. All business. I also love the feel of Alcantara.

I'm going to order up one of the new GT2 wheels, it's also 360 compatible and it'd make a nice change from my PWTS' rough stitching in the leather. I think having two Fanatec wheels is a good thing to avoid any down time if anything goes worng with one of them. I was among the first 100 people in the world to get the PWTS retail version ($150 extra shipping + regular shipping) and it's still churning laps like a champion! (knocks wood)

Well, I went ahead and ordered a Carrera wheel, because I'm hoping it will get here before my break in late December. /fingers-crossed.

I figure it will still be a major improvement over my Logitech Driving Force (no GT, no Pro), and once reviews and such come out on the GT2 and it's more available, I can always ebay or gift the Carrera wheel. :)

Finally my packages are in Canada. One arrived in Vancouver yesterday morning, one yesterday afternoon and 2 today. Man this has been one slow process, but it looks like it's coming soon.

All packages are now in Saskatchewan. One is already at the local post office and the other three should be there by tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to set it all up tonight or tomorrow at the latest. I'm starting to get excited. I'm still a little upset that I ordered on November 10th and I'm just getting my stuff now. Once I actually get it that will diminish somewhat.

Are these GT2's available for sale from their US distributor yet? I wasn't able to find them.

This will most likely be my next wheel (currently using the G27). That way I'll be ready for Rfactor2 and I'll start playing forza 3 again. Forza 3 has been gathering dust ever since I started playing Prologue with the g27.

Congrats on getting your new wheel or almost getting it all, lol. I'm from Sask. as well, south of Swift Current. Keep us informed and let us know how you like your wheel. I've never owned a wheel but i'm looking at either the new GT2 that just came out or possibly the Thrustmaster depending on how it reviews.

Here's the link if you haven't seen. Preorder and shipping in January sometime.

Wow, the GT2 looks awesome. Was about to get upset that a new wheel was releasing since I just got my GT3RS until I read the feature comparison. Still wouldve been nice to have X360 support and light up buttons but not for the extra cost. Still really sharp in the dark grey.

Now I just wish Fanatec would spill on the new Clubsport shifter and eBrake.

Has anyone tried drifting with the Carerra wheel? It's gear driven vs the belt driven of the other fanatec wheels, so I'm wondering if the FFB reacts fast enough for drifting. Videos anyone? I'm returning my DFGT so I'm looking for a CHEAP wheel with FFB.

sooomeoneeeeeeee

someone has to have this wheel! please comment on the ffb

I hope by the time the Fanatec 911 GT2 comes out, it will have no problems getting it to Australia. Right Thomas?? ;)
(Directed to AlPh4Kil1;4241981)

If you find there is an issue with getting one there to Australia, I will sell you my Turbo S Wheel. I bought it two weeks ago is all and it is still like brand new. I have used it like 10 times or so for a totol of like 10-15 hours. I have updated its' firmware to current 681. This is a fin wheel but I wanted the Club Sport Pedal package they had but those went so quick I had to get this one. After I paid them , like two days later the Wheels were all gone to be no more. I love this wheel but like the black of the new one and got to have the Club Sport's. I can ship it to Australia for you no Problem. I have over a 100 perfect feedback at Ebay and on various other forums to provide as refrence. We can use PayPal. Hollar if interested.

^ if he's not interested, how much would you sell for? i'm in california.

and uk gamer, do you think you could try drifting with it? pleaaaase? i just want to know if the wheel will countersteer itself fast enough. i've seen the belt-driven wheels do fine with it, not a single video of the carrera wheel though.

let me know if you can sir, thank you.

I'd let it go for 310.00, I paid 349.00 on 11-2-2010 but didn't recieve untill 11-13-11. I used it not very much with wheel stand pro and it still looks new and basicly is. I feel this price is fair considering I seen one go on Ebay a couple weeks or so ago for 300.00 that the guy said he used but it did still look good in pictures however. I do also happen to have the adapter that one would need if they wanted to use the G27/25 shifter that I paid 20.00 for, that I 'd sell for 15.00. You can let me know if the other Gentlemen from Australia is not interested since in all fainess I did ask him first. Item number to the one I spoke of above was E-bay 180582707748.

Hey guys I'm looking for advice on setting up a hand brake with the GT3 RS. Have any of you done this before? Any ideas on how to approach it?

I figure the easiest way is going into the wheel and taking over one of the buttons but wanted to check on here first. Search didn't come up with anything relating to fanatec wheels specifically.

Thanks!

I sometimes mini-drift when the AI shove me in the rear end and Im nearly pitted so I have to counter it. However for regular drifting, there are drift mode settings which make the wheel a little more twichy and fast countersteering

I'm stuck!!!
i'm either going to take that Turbo S Deal i'd been offered (which i have Considered) but then the GT2 is sooooooooo good looking! but i don't know if this is either going to be more expensive in Australia or cheaper than the deal i'd been offered

cool! WTG!

I am going to wait until early 2011 for more info and reviews and order either the Fanatec GT2 + clubsport pedals or the Thrustmaster T500RS.
I also have an xbox360 that I never use for FM3 or RacePro since I do not have a wheel and that is having me lean towards the Fanatec wheel at this point.
:)

Hi guys i have a problem with my PWC pedals. In GT5 the gas is permanently pushed at about 10-15%. I dont think this was happening like a week ago when i bought GT5 and it certainly didn´t hapen when i was playing Prologue. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

Picked up all the packages and set it up last night. Unfortunately I won't get to use it until tonight. I'm really impressed with the quality especially so for the CSP. I still have to figure ou how to use the Rennsport shifter plate for the Fanatec shifter. I'm sure it's online

Once you get it all setup why don't you post a pic. :)

Does anyone know where I can find instructions for installing the gear shift adapter on a Rennsport stand and attaching the Fanatec shifter to it. I looked everywhere on Fanatec's site and had no luck. I've sent an email to Fanatec but that will likely take awhile and I'm impatient

I've got it all setup except for the shifter. I also don't have anything to hold the pedals on yet. I think I'll get some industrial velcro to hold them on.

No instructions. Honestly, I just looked at the parts, and put them together how it looked like they should go. Took a few minutes. There's only one way it can go together, so it's not much of a hassle.

The two black bars slide through the shifter, and the shifter mount (that part should be obvious). Then, just attach the shifter mount to the metal plate. The metal plate slides under the wheel itself, and mounts to the under side of the wheel.

Simple.

Search Google for a You Tube video for this as I seen where someone else asked this same question on the forums over at Fanatec and they were directed to You Tube , so there must be one on that site somewhere. Holp this helps ya.

Here's how I did it:

Also, some people find that using foam cabinet liner, the grippy kind that resembles carpet liner, works well.

Thanks for posting that. Honestly that's not how I pictures it so I think I would have struggled without that.
