So the BoP was adjusted and all the Astons got more weight? What a joke! They weren’t OP to start with.

I’m tipping the Z4 will be the new META in group 3. The Beetle will still be strong as it didn’t get that much of a nerf. Supra will be back at the top as well.

Seems they nerfed my beetle back to 544hp as it was at start of gt7,but also took gti down more as well, im confused as to why though, as i never thought me volkswagon was ever really op and the gr4 scirocco is definitely not meta at 301hp

Participation awards are for elementary school kids, only the best should actually win something. Everyone else just gets to see how they stack up to the best, that’s the prize. Sorry if you got used to winning something for losing ad a kid, that’s not really how life works. 👍
Good thing it's a video game, which always gives you something for your time in a race (outside of missions). "Life sucks so video games need to suck too" is a terrible mindset.

Right, that'll be why in English football the ONLY prize available is for winning the premier League. Anything else below that, either the lower professional leagues or the countless thousand amateur leagues, there are no prizes. No cups. Nothing. If Brian and his builder mates playing in the East Midlands League Division 2 want to win anything, they'll have to beat Man City to the premier League won't they.

No. That isn't how real life works. Sport and competition in real life has tiers and if you're successful in your tier/skill level, you win something. It's not as prestigious as the elite trophy, but it's something to aim for.

The incentive should be to improve. Competition is mostly disappointment. It what makes the reward valuable. Most people compete for the challenge not the rewards.
They obviously don't in this case, since participation in these cups is tiny compared to how many people have the game. Most people want to see some sort of attainable reward for doing something in a video game, no matter how small.

i'm signing for Jaguar, but not sure i will do that many races as i have evening shifts most Fridays and not sure i will have enough time to practice for the race this coming friday. Hope to do Suzuka at least. Still working on the liveries...

Why does everyone need a cookie for doing everything these days? Ya’ll must have gotten way to many participation trophies as kids. When I was kid, you had to actually win, to win something, the way it should be. Consolation prizes are for losers, sorry.

Sorry, but NA pro sports, only the winning team gets a trophy. Only kids are given silly participation trophies. That’s why they grow up expecting a prizes for losing as adults. 🙄

Might go for Jag after enjoying the Gr 3 so much lately plus there's a load of plays on their old F1 livery that look really good.

Guess PD should remove credit payouts for the "losers" then. First place only to earn some credits. But only if you're playing in the very highest ranked lobby. The thousands of others below them, they should get nothing, right?

Listen, not everyone needs to eat **** for breakfast just to be sure that life sucks as much as possible. It's a video game. We can earn some credits for racing, as we always do. Surely you're not too old to know how video games work?

If you introduce prizes for GT2/GT3 then there will be low/mid ranked GT1 players who will tank their stats and fight over the lower prizes, denying them from the actual lower rated players. So the "solution" wouldn't achieve anything.

You'd also introduce a system where a C rated player gets more for their participation than an A+ rated player who sweats their nuts off all season to finish very impressively in the top 100, who receives nothing. Is that fair?

I got a huge amount of enjoyment from the FIA seasons in GTS, safe in the knowledge I wouldn't ever win anything tangible. Seeing how I measured against others, and constantly striving to improve was plenty for me personally.

If you need an extra incentive to take part, it's probably not something you actually enjoy doing anyway.

How is finishing top of your lower league losing? I don't follow NA sports but I'm pretty confident there isn't only one elite league for each sport that gives out rewards. Being the best in your city or your county is still winning.

EDIT: I just looked up your NA sports and hey, what a surprise, there are leagues with prizes below the top one.

NHL
AHL
ECHL
SPHL
FPHL

For hockey. You don't have to get to the NHL to win a trophy.

American Football there is a huge list

Win the Florida Football Alliance, you get a winning trophy. You don't have to get to the NFL.

That's why I said you introduce rewards all the way from the top to the bottom on a sliding scale, so no, tanking wouldn't give you a better prize. You'd still get more finishing 500th in GT1 compared to 1st in GT2.

People are wired differently. For you, just racing is reward. For others, theyd also like to see something tangible. Neither person is wrong.

I can't fathom why people are actively against everyone being rewarded for their finishing position. It's not like I'm suggesting those who win the lower levels should also get to go to a world tour event, I'm just suggesting that more people would take part if there was a little something to aim for if you're not one of the absolute best players.

Again, this isn't some foreign concent to gaming. I don't play many competitive games but there are a few I've played which have passive community events. Rayman Legends and Dirt 2 off the top of my head. Both of those have events where you do a solo event and the higher percentile you finish against others, the better reward you get at the end of it. They don't just hand out a reward to the top 0.1% and nothing for anyone else. Push yourself to improve from bronze ranking to silver ranking, you get more reward.

What is so bad about that?

just agonised over who to sign for and considered loads of alternative whacky choices as I’m in GT3 and won’t be winning anything and chose Subaru just to be bland then come on here and find out they’ve been nerfed lol ah well at least I have some lovely WRC themed liveries

I could care less about winning credits for online racing, the racing is the prize there, and getting to compete against the best players you get matched with. The competition itself, is the prize, and the fun.

The NHL has one winners trophy, the Stanley Cup, no other trophies matter. Same for Basketball and Football. I threw a 2nd place medal in the urinal as a kid, 2nd place is the first loser. Getting a prize for anything less than winning is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed to accept them, Sorry. And I’m not talking about credits in game, I’m talking about actual prizes.

I mentioned winning lower leagues below the NHL, same for the others. This happens across the world with regional and local leagues. No sport only has a trophy for being the absolute best and nothing for lower leagues. Should these guys not be celebrating winning the 6th tier of football in England? Or are they losers in your mind because they didn't beat Man City and should have thrown it in the toilet?

It's pretty sad if you think only the best of the best deserve recognition. I mean, why would you have even accepted the trophy for 1st place as a kid? You weren't winning the NHL, so it's worthless isn't it? Only the best should be rewarded, not some kids playing locally?

Also, credits in game are a prize.

Winning in less than the top league is meaningless, you know who won the AHL trophy last year? Yeah me neither, because no one cares about anything but the top leagues. It’s a competition, anything other than the top leagues are just place fillers. The AHl only exists so the NHL has a place to put the extra players that aren’t good enough for the NHL, until they are ready to move up, or someone gets hurt. That’s all, it’s a storage league for players the NHL can’t use right now.

What a sad outlook on life. I'm pretty sure the teams who win lower leagues care, as do their fans.

"Sorry Timmy, you and your team might have played hard for the last 9 months in your local football league but it doesn't matter that you won, Pigems thinks you're worthless fools who deserve no recognition. Sit down. You're not the absolute best, worthless fools."

In the words of Denis Leary, “Life Sucks, get a helmet, alright?”

In North America the lower leagues are development leagues. The incentive is to earn a pro contract and move up to a higher league.
The still win a trophy and celebrate winning it.

People like Pigems are free to think they're worthless scum celebrating nothing, but that doesn't make them not exist, or nullify the idea that PD could do the same with GT. But in terms of the game I'm obviously not talking about trophies, but in-game rewards.

That doesn’t give the trophy any meaning, it’s still a sub top level trophy. It’s a consolation prize no matter how you look at it.

Like I said you are free to think what you want, it's just your opinion. They still exist, and similar tiered prizing can exist in this GT event if PD wanted to reward people of all skill levels instead of just the elite.

Why, so sub aliens can tank rating and steal them from the guys who actually should be in those tiers? Because we both know that’s exactly what will happen. The same way guys would rank to get into 2nd and 3rd split, so they could “win” instead of driving in the lobbies they should have been in by rights. It just gives people another reason to skew the entire thing.
