Well Midfield is not the greatest layout ever when you watch it on youtube - but boy if it makes you do tons of laps once you're there.

I remember it was exactly the same in GT4 - thought it's meh but once I gave it a go I changed my mind.

Plus the nostalgia emotional anchor makes all the difference. I remember the license test with the Jag :dopey:

One thing - it's a power track and you definitely need a fairly fast car in order to have a challenge. Something like Focus ST just won't cut the mustard.

I'm slightly changing my mind about B-spec after seeing the screens. Most likely I won't use it all that much but it looks promising - the problem in GT4 was that the game would "protect the Bob from the maniac player" - if that is somehow addressed then great.

Bad AI is the cause for the B-spec's delay imo. And that is why I am almost sure that B-spec will introduce a new, much better AI. Which will be the real update for the game.

That is perfectly fine line of reasoning but I don't expect it at all to be the case sadly.

So new cars, new tracks, new customisation and new features don't excite you. But, having the right top speed when you're going in a straight line at a test track does. Each to their own I guess.

What's the point of new car if it performs unrealistically? On ALL tracks, not test track only (proved) and on every bit of straight part of the track.

Yup, I'm pretty excited about it. Can't wait to race and cruise on midfield. But, if they brought back New York, Amalfi, SSR11, Seattle, George V and Opera Paris, and Grand Canyon, then the game would be even more fun. Oh, and don't forget Hong Kong!

How does an incorrect (but correctable) top speed render every other facet of the game pointless? The ONLY thing it means you can't do, is compare stock top speeds to real-life - are you telling me that is the ONLY thing you do on GT, and the ONLY reason you play it?

Like I said each to their own, we all get different things from the game, I just think that you're overlooking the goodstuff to focus on that one bug.

Remove George V and Opera Paris and replace them with El Capitan and Seoul Central and I could get on board with that. I always hated those George V and Opera tracks in GT4 and am not all that crazy about any of the SSR tracks nor the Grand Canyon.

El Capitan on the other hand may very well be the best of the GT original tracks. Hard to believe so many here leave it off the list.

Of course what we really need are a set of full online leader boards by track and class/PP range. If they added those then I would be hyped.

El Capitan's pretty good too. Those were the days.

Basically yes. When I am playing, I am comparing real life and virtual simulation all the time.

Otherwise what's the point of having all these official cars with their official specs, if you "don't care" about their performance match against real life. The game could be filled with fake brands and fake performances....or it better would not?

That 'one bug' messes whole 'The Real Driving Simulator' aspect of the game, which is huge. And I already tried and got bored from all the other stuff in the game long time ago. Probably with the end of GT4.

Not really.
I don't care much for b-spec.
I really like Midfield Raceway, it will be nice to drive it in time trial, but not being able to run proper races offline on it considerably reduces its replay value.

If PD ever does the smart thing and releases an update that makes all the options already in the game available in all game modes then I'll be excited.

A new(old) track with time change and weather is a great addition. Always enjoyed Midfield in the ancient GT4 days.
B-spec isn't for me but it's nice for those who enjoy it.

PCars is a major investment for me. New console, new rig. I've got too many real world expenses these days...food, college for 2 kids, insurance, mortgage, car payments, ballroom dancing lessons (jk) and on and on and on. Happy that GT6 continues receiving improvements.

I expect Midfield to be another boring, perfectly flat track like Apricot Hill. It'll be pretty, it'll be new, it'll be fun to drive a few times, but ultimately it'll be a perfect racing surface that offers little feel through the wheel and and is completely devoid of character and the little quirks that make things unique and enjoyable.

I actually thought that Apricot Hill was boring at first, but now I kind of like it. It has a nice flow of corners.

I'm not hyped about the update though, I save all my hype for the course maker :D

You can get a pretty good PC that will work with your existing rig for the price you would pay for a new console and a new rig maybe less and that opens up for other games beyond PCars.

For me it was a no brainer, PC over console any day. The fact that my wheel is not supported on either of the new consoles just makes it that much easier to justify a new PC and forget the consoles for now. GT7 will have to be really good before I would even think of buying a PS4 same with Forza 6 and the XBox1. Way to much money for one game unless it really blows you away.

^ Getting a good Gaming PC for the price of a PS4? Only if that's possible in my country, to get a new T300rs or T500rs wheel i need to pay the amount of money of a Brand new ps4! I had to pay the price of 2 Ps4 to get a good gaming PC.

One of the first games i'll get on PC once i custom build one is Project cars (even thought it's going to be released on ps4 which i own), maybe AC or Iracing. Just imagining having a high end pc with 3 monitors, High end racing wheel with racing seats and wheel stand.

I think you missed something there.

The point was that if you already have a wheel then you don't need to buy a new wheel when you go the PC route as you can use the one you already have so you have the price of PS4+Wheel to use for a PC and you can get a pretty good PC for that amount of money and like I said it opens up the path to other games beyond PCars.

$$$$PS4 + T300+pedals+shifter > $$great pc + keep perfectly functioning G25/27.

New track is nice, but I'm really not that fussed. If there's one thing GT6 isn't missing, it's tracks. It's a stocking stuffer, nice to have but I'm not wetting myself with glee.

I don't expect much out of the VGTs. I have more fun watching the videos that come with them than driving the cars. If there was something to do with them it would be cool (VGT racing series?), but it's just more random eye candy with no particular connection to the real world of motoring.

B Spec could be interesting. I'd like to see what they've done with it, but I don't have high hopes. To be great they'll have had to significantly revamp the AI, redesign the entire concept of B Spec from scratch, and add a whole bunch of new career mode stuff (endurance races at the very least). I sort of doubt it, but I'm withholding judgment until I actually play it. Notwithstanding the fact that it would have been a whole lot more valuable 15 months ago when people actually had a lot of career mode ahead of them and might have used it for that.

Paintable cars and bits are a bug fix. That should have been a thing from the start, I'm not getting excited over developers learning that giving the player creative freedom is a good idea.

If all this stuff comes at once it's one of the best updates we'll have had for GT6. Had this come out last February it would have been amazing. A year later...it's OK. Timing is everything.

GTPlanet FTW :gtpflag:

Because there couldn't possibly have been two different groups of people saying those two completely different things. GTPlanet is all just one big homogenous mass who all share exactly the same opinions about everything GT.

No, I'm not excited. I'd say "too little too late", but it's more of 'too late' than a content-lapse.

I'm teasing myself with gMotor2 games on a laptop, and plan to join the 'PC Master Race' shortly after P.CARS release.

After all, you know that's why they're withholding the content ;)

I'm ready for GT7 already. Is that bad? That I'm bored with GT6?
Well after driving and testing every car on GT6 on a single track then move on to do that once again on another track.... of course you'll be bored.

I'm excited about the update, definitely. Midfield Raceway is what I'm looking forward to the most. No disrespect to B-Spec, I've enjoyed using it in the past but I would swap it for another classic track, like El Capitan or Seattle Circuit.

I never got bored, too many cars to drive and build, spent thousands of km already at some of the real world tracks. I think I have over 60k km already :D

B-Spec for the sake of having B-Spec is a very hollow addition to the game.
Most who want B-Spec want it because it, in theory, opens up an "Endurance Mode".
If the game stays as it is, this doesn't "change" the game at all.

Same as the new tracks and new cars do not change the game. Until there is a fundamental, root shift in the game, all of the features in the world do nothing to make it truly more interesting than it was yesterday. We have seen this first hand with the VGT cars.
