đź‘Ť Agreed!

Maybe next gen they'll learn.

GT6 should still be a worthy game, but not $60 worthy. Waiting for a used copy is not too hard.
I can even spend 60 bucks to buy it used in the first week, not at GameStop obviously because I don't want give any money to them either. The price is not the point, the point is I feel PD and K Y and particular don't deserve a single penny from me. Used purchase will be my form of protest regardless the price. I can even speend 80 to buy a Collector Edition or something. I'll just make sure they'll see 0,00 € from my purchase.

It's the only way we can protest hahaha. Hit the business it its wallet. And I'm sure we're not the only ones taking this form of action.

All the people interested in GT but not happy with PD should do the same. They had the last chance with GT5.
Now it's middle finger time if they don't deliver.

Very well said. :)

Still interested in GT, but disappointed in PD and KY.

It's a win/win for us. You'll still get to play the game but also voice your displeasure.

Didn't even think of this. Brilliant, as long as there's no stupid online code like EA and Codemaster's have been doing.

It's how I responded to Square Enix with Final Fantasy XIII and the mess it made (imo) to the franchise I've gotten to known. To each their own.

With GT though, I guess I'm a sucker. It's a part of my past, so no matter what, I'll buy it new at full price. Then again, it's not like they messed it so bad then I plan to get it used but buy new anyway. GT5 may not have livery or certain minor features I want, but at the heart, it still delivered great physics and was enjoyable to play. Plus it was evident with all the post support and free updates, they're committed to give us our value.

With the recent interviews, especially regarding A.I, sounds, and even livery editor, indicates that they're giving their effort to properly implement them. That to me is good enough. As long as I know they're working on it, they have my full support. Not supporting them by buying their game used won't make them work any faster, I don't think.

I think SCEA is dropping their online pass code, but I'm not sure if it'll affect PS3 games from this point?

Microsofts concept wasn't that bad actually... probably just later.

I'm going to wait until I've got confirmation on a few things that I need to know beforehand.

  1. No standard cars
  2. Proper tyre model
  3. Race mods and similar stuff available for most cars
  4. Single player similar to GT4

Okay, the last point is kinda optional. The first three aren't. Granted, I know that GT6 will have a new tyre model already, so I'll just give it the benefit of the doubt in that regard. Standard cars are okay if a) there's no difference in terms of functionality and b) if the visual differences aren't as pronounced (so they don't throw me off if the AI is using them). Race mods being available for most of the road cars is also very important to me.
Oops standard cars will be in GT6, although they're most likely no longer called standards then.

I'm also very sure that the 3. point won't happen, especially because of the standards aspect.

No GT6 for you in this case. :)

I just checked and Sony's recent game, The Last of Us has the online pass. That makes me think GT6 will have one too. So if you're planning to buy it used, prepare to buy an extra $15 or whatever it costs, online code for the ability to play online, just incase.

Again, if you're not aware, PS4 games surely won't continue the online pass stuff, at least for Sony and EA.

*edit

The Last of Us online pass code is $9.99.

Either way I think you'll be supporting PD in a way, if you plan to play GT6 online at least.

I'm ok with that. IF I'll feel the need to play online.

10 bucks is not 60 bucks and there's always the "not buy at all" option though. I'm interested in GT6 only because Xbox has a spycam and Assetto Corsa is not yet ready. GT could be something useful while waiting for the cool stuff.

Yeah, well obviously it isn't. I was just noting it incase anyone plans to give ZERO support to PD, in which in this case must either resort to "not buy at all" option or not play online.

Might as well, saves me having to schlep down to Argos to wait at my collection point :dopey:

Not trying to be antagonistic or anything but I think that's as lame as joining a protest march against corporate tax dodgers, whilst sipping on a Starbucks.

preordered it a week or so ago and now will upgrade to the gamestop 15th annaversary one

After finding out New Zealand isn't a part of GT Academy for the 3rd time in a row? HELL NO.

I've felt strongly about not pre-ordering a product before unless it was a necessity (e.g. - GT5 Signature Edition Challenge) and the recent news just adds more fuel to the fire.

I'm with everyone who doesn't want to pre-order unless there is SIGNIFICANT value in what I'm actually getting. A racing video game that is in similar stead to the others out in the market does not look like significant value to me.

Maybe add a prize of say a trip to the US to compete for a 2014 Corvette and maybe you'll get my interest. Stick GT Academy with the game and PD, Sony and Nissan will have my attention (and maybe access to my wallet).

I believe EB Games here in Canada is owned under the same ownership as Gamestop so I'm hoping they have the same pre-order deal, in which case I'll definitely pre-order.

EB Games here was the same as Gamestop. I think they were originally called Electronics Boutique. I used to buy games for my Commodore 64 there back in the day.

But do they have the same offer as Gamestop is the question.

No I will not pre-order it, firstly because the implications of pre-order bonuses like paint chips and special liveries do not bode well for the inclusion of a livery editor.

But mostly because I will wait for independent reviews of the game before I buy it - if GT6 is underwhelming then the best thing to improve the series will be to not buy it.

Now that I know what's available, I just have to decide which one I want. Decisions, decisions... ;)

I will pre-order, but I will wait to see who gives me the best stuff for doing so.

I pre-ordered GT5 from Gamestop, because I didn't want them to sell out before I got there, and I do kinda like Joey Lagaono.

Just before the release there was a live helicopter shot on the news, flying over a local Best Buy showing the line outside waiting to buy some game at midnight. COD something maybe.

On my way to Gamestop and was very happy that I had reserved my copy of GT5 in advance. I was ready for the crowd!

[insert cricket sound here]

I walked in and got my copy in about a minute and a half.

Oh well, at least I got my Gamestop Camary (I've never driven) and my Stealth Mclaren.

There was a line of about ten people when i got my copy.. some dude bought four GT5's and i was like 0.0.... they had like 100 or so copies on the shelf behind the counter and every one was picking a copy up. XD I went the next day and they had like 5 or six copies left:drool:

I have pre-ordered GT6 because, well it is GT and I've been playing GT since the original game. However, for now I'm only ordering the basic version as I still feel burnt by pre-ordering the GT5 Signature Edition which didn't feel to be such a premium product when the game itself wasn't up to scratch IMHO.

I won't be pre-ordering based on my disappointment of GT5, I'll wait a little while for a good price drop. Ok I won't get it as soon as most of you guys but I'll get a cheaper game and no doubt my first play will be of a superior product compared to what most of you here will play.

Oh and because I don't believe in buying DLC, I'll have more cars too! Patience is a virtue.

When that happens we'll be playing on the exact same version, therefore we'd never really have missed anything.
