I have a couple questions about the tire telemetry displayed in the hud.. the bars on the side of the tires.
Does the bar show tread life? and if the bar turns red does that mean the tire is just cooked but still has tread left?

Image example attached I was driving GT2 with the super softs and was hit many times causing slides and spins. So I was wondering if it means the tires are just over cooked and won't recover when the bars are red. Also if the tires did not get cooked, would they still work fine with that bar at say 50%? I normally drive by feel so never really payed attention to this until today as I wanted to see how long those SS would last.

That looks a bit different to what we have on PC. I would guess your estimates are correct, the bar shows tread life and when it's red your tread is cooked. I think if you got down to 50% you're hosed though, even at 95% they start to get pretty sketchy.

It's... time! All cars have been looked at, tech specs looked over and a preferred livery picked. Now to hit the track - Road cars are up first starting with the Porsche 718 Boxster.

So happy!
:D

Lets talk about sounds, why on earth do all the spiders have closed cabin sounds? A massive and annoying oversight. That brings me to my next question, are all cabin sound effects canned? As in not recorded in the cabin? Just wondering why the 718 would have the exactly the same muffled sound as tin tops.

I'm incredibly interested in hearing what the SF15-T drives like on consoles, and how the buttons are mapped.

Feed me info! :P

I'm assuming you meant PCARS? Yeah that was a fabulous forum for getting answers.
They actually do respond on AC. Something other developers can learn from.
Pcars? Never had communications problems in their forums and I was a simple user.

If one had **** attitude would not get answers or even be banned, but I really had my post read liked and answered with no efforts even by ian bell...

Lots of people here have crazy bad words for a game that has its faults but that is honestly in a way better shape than ac is now even after months and a fat delay.

I mean you can play online on it with friends and make organized races lol.

I've not placed my bet on ac now. Got game and season pass. Waiting patiently since months for deliberately needed fixes.

Ac can be way better that annoying else we have but so far it's not.

Ha i totally forgot about that and saw it in the car selection and wondered why no one is talking about it. Gonna try it soon. Just drove the 718 60s spider, wonderful. Also has tin top cabin sounds.:banghead:

Prepare for lots of oversteer on the straights (yes, on the straights)! :D

On the straights? Not feeling it there but twitchy on the corners. Lovely though and the pops. The car has no ABS?

I'm loving the flow of this car.

Derp, I thought he was talking about the Maserati 250 for some reason, that thing oversteers on the straights. The GT4 does not have ABS and is quite eager to lock them up. Once you guys get the brake pressure adjustment you can dial that out.

So many great cars to try out... :)

Tried the 1998 Porsche GT1-98 out first as one of the last "analogue" racing cars. ABS aside it's very old school with the engine dating back from at least 1982 (in the 956) and allegedly parts of the turbo were still being used from the 70s 935... The slow pick up of the old turbo and consequent slow drive out of slow corners was one of their major weaknesses compared to the Mercedes they were racing against who smashed them 10-0 over the course of the 1998 FIA GT championship. You can really feel this with the car as the turbo takes an age to spool up to the point that sometimes you'll be shifting up before it's even reached peak boost.

It feels pretty slow as well, closer to a modern hypercar than a modern race car with less grunt than the hypercar but of course more downforce although unfortunately on the rather rubbish overheating old 90s tyres. I took it round the new Red Bull Ring as this was the only track the game has that the real series raced on.

Initially I posted a 1:32.6 and was quietly confident this would be in the ball park of the real car but it appears the real car did a 1:24 flat! I managed to get down to a 1:30 something but I feel a further 6 seconds is utterly impossible. I know the track has changed slightly but not that much. Maybe they made this car a little slow? It'd be interested to hear if there's anyone who has got anywhere near that 1:24 lap.

Really hard to get accustomed to this 280 degrees? F1 2013 car... so twitchy but by god the grip. Its hard to spin this thing out. It just bites everywhere. Let alone hard to lockup.

Such a shame the seat cannot go lower. It is too high.

Wonder how the Maserati GT4 holds up to the Porsche Cayman GT4...

On PC they're apparently within a tenth or two of each other. I'm actually going to be testing them tonight, I'll let you know what I find. Technically the Cayman isn't a true GT4 series spec, but it seems to be close enough to not matter.

Seems only the brake bias d-pad works on the Alcantara wheel with F1 2013 car. Everything else is dead except look behind. Wonder what I get access to with the F1 rim...

Oh wait no, Flash is DRS. Mmm, nice. Scroll is KERS.

Not much gain with DRS open... but damn you feel it with KERS. The wheel goes quite tight.

Seat Adjustment and lower FOV (less than 50deg) are some things that would really improve AC for me with my current setup.

Hopefully next update.

I'm trully surprised how easy these F1 cars are to drive compared to FSONE on rFactor. Damn those cars were slippy. Though this rapid steering is making me nervous. Corner, bam, corner, bam bam bam. Feels like 300mph on Mugello. Blink corner, next.

Ah you also like your wind sound realistically loud 👍

I had it up high and loud to cover up my screams of joy in the background @mister dog !!!

This Maserati everyone talks about? Gran Turismo GT4?

A lovely set of wheels, will be epic up against the Porsche GT4 in the private lobbies!!

What Setup do you have? And do you have TC or ABS on? Im not able to get a single Lap done with this car as it even breaks out on me in 5th and 6th Gear, not to mention quick changes like in the chicane are impossible for me

Stock setup to start with, bar taking out a bit of fuel and taking off a bit of wing front and rear, no aids either, such a nice car, my god!!! :D

Here's my run in the F138, much more nervous than the SF15-T, no aids again, a real laugh in the traction zones!! ;)

The best DLC for a racing game i've seen tbh! 👍

Well maybe then something is wrong with me or whatever. I give the car a good amount of downforce and its spinning in every gear and even at high speed Corners. At 0:45 in your clip i would totally lose the car.
