Do you love them when they spin out over the kerbs at Barcelona? Or when they spin out at the corkscrew at Laguna Seca? Or when the front runners pull a huge distance away at Spa or Donington? 😬

Sorry, I'm being facetious. Just pointing out my biggest gripe with the game. I just don't get how they don't see it and fix it. An option for grid starts would be great, but if that's not how they start IRL we won't get it in game.
It happens at Kyalami also. Because the starting line is not far from that last corner, by the time the AI in front wobbles around it, you had better be ready to stand on it because the front row is gone. I start in 12th for each race which is on the outside row for that track. The AI in front goes way too wide around that last corner so I don't follow him out there. I get out of line more toward the middle and just go by him when the green light goes. If they're going to be that stupid I'm going to take advantage of it.

After FM7 I'm shocked when AI don't spin out at the corkscrew lol. Oh and maybe that's why I got lapped at Donington.. 😊
(Two of my favourite tracks actually, I've mastered LS over the years but still working on Donington!)

I ran my first race tonight that transitioned from daylight to darkness. One thing I learned was that I either need to go ahead and turn the headlights on at the beginning of the race or map a button for it because they don't come on automatically at the right time.

It was a little strange in that it went from twilight to very dark then back to almost twilight again then to total darkness.

But I do see what the complaints are about the headlights. They are almost totally useless. You have very little light right in front of the car where you need it.

Strange, i see you're on xsx, but look this pic on ps5 from a post a few pages back on here, looks a lot better, headlights wise.
A spanish user on a Spanish forum took his PC (quite common one) vs PS5 version, Barcelona track, same time of night, same car.. above PS5, down PC, they have really to improve headlights and make night more dark.

This game obviously has so much potential but at the moment … honestly it kind of sucks. It’s just not much fun, feels like it’s in slow motion. I’m on PS5, just got Fanatec CSL DD as an upgrade to my previous Fanatec wheel base. Also got the Clubsport V3 pedals as an upgrade to my CSL Elite load cells. Fresh firmware and still the max brake rumble is bricked. Both brake and throttle motors are functioning when driving and providing vibration, but there’s no ABS indication.
Got Gran Turismo 25th anniversary edition Friday but barely had time to play so far. Got my new hardware finally installed on my rig and played for 30 min tonight. Used the Porsche 917 Living Legend that came with the 25th Anny edition, just drove in Time Trial. Double the sense of speed, triple the amount of enjoyment and satisfaction.
Come on, Kunos.

I’m hopeful that both Kunos and PD will figure there respective games out soon. I’m pretty sure they will. And to tell your he truth, I want to split my time between both of them. Dedicating 2 weeks of screen time to ACC prior to the PS5 patch was one of the best Sim Racing things I’ve done in 2 years. It really surprised me how much I enjoyed it.

PLUS, I know they’re FFB model can take full advantage of my new CSL DD wheel! Quite frankly I’ve been disappointed with GT7’s FFB. It’s worse than gt sport

Another issue I’m having with my Fanatec Formula 2.5 wheel is, the shift lights don’t match. My wheel goes to full blue upshift lights WELL before the in-game car/wheel lights have hit the max. Little things like this just kill the satisfaction. The good news, hopefully, is that a lot of this stuff should be relatively easy to patch.

Where’s the safety cars ? Where are the other on track incidents and accidents ? Does AI just have perfect races?
There was an incident in a race I ran at Bathurst a few days ago after the update. Two cars in front of me tangled together going into The Chase and one spun off to the left. That car ended up going to the pits and retiring. So no the AI doesn't have perfect races. It's just that they don't happen as frequently as you think they would.

I see lots of crashes at that corner. But it's more to do with 2 AI trying to take the same line than anything like poor racecraft etc. In fact most of the accidents I've seen in ACC are due to AI pathing rather than battles on track imo.

They tend to never make mistakes on their own.

There aren't and wont be any. They said it pointless as theres no purpose for them as in real life. Do you want to be stuck behind a safety car for a lap or two in a game where theres no safety concerns? Most people would turn tgs feature off after experiencing it for the first time if that was an option.

I saw your question in the thread you started. It is a sim but that doesnt mean it simulates every aspect of real life.

We actually tried to do a safety car in a league. Was a disaster. Everyone has to be on comms. Some people don't like that, because others keep talking. It was also hard on the SC driver to get to the right place, blah blah blah

Digital foundry took a look to ACC next gen.

-better shadows on PS5 than on Series X
-both next Gen consoles got dynamic resolution.
-Quite better performance on PS5 than series X.
-Worst version is Series S with no really stable performance.

Nothing wrong with shadows on the Series S, I don't know what he's on about. Seems more like an advert for PS5 than anything else in that video.
And to say the Series S is unstable is frankly BS

Not an advert, just comparison between platforms.
Series X and PS5 are more powerful than a series S, so if they say and show that shadows are better on PS5, it's like that.

And yes, it runs not as good as the others

I have it on PS5 and Series X. While playing I can notice no difference at all. I don't have all the fancy tech stuff that DF has though.

Well, I don't dispute the series X is more powerful, but I have no issues with how games run on my Series S.
I didn't have either the funds for a series X at the time, nor is there any availablity.
Since I got it, I've managed to upgrade my monitor also.
I'm happy with my series S, it's far from a budget next gen. It is close to X in performance for half the cost.

I wonder what is different for you than for me. See, GT7 seems slow as molasses and the cars all feel like tanks when compared to ACC. Like night and day. I get a tremendous sense of speed in ACC. Partially because of the sound too.

That’s interesting. I’m new to ACC so right now I’m just using the standard offered setups. Maybe that’s it, along with the soft FFB they’ve said they’ll patch? I drive lots of fast cars in real life on tracks. I’ve driven race cars and track cars and supercars for 20 years, and still going. One of my favorite tracks, Spa, for example: having to drive through several corners a gear lower than makes any real-life sense to me just makes it feel slow. Loads of understeer, no sense of being able to attack whatsoever. Again, setup could be a big part of this and fair enough. But even driving down a straight at 160 mph looks and feels slow. Cars just feel benign to me.

Certain cars need to use lower gears than others. For example the Ferrari tends to be a gear lower through slower corners than, say, the Nissan, or Merc. Depends on the torque I think.
David Perel (Ferrari GT3 driver) said that they don't consider 1st gear to be a "launch" gear in the Ferrari, it's just another lower gear to be used as necessary. This applies to a few other cars as well. Perhaps this is the abnormal gearing issue you had at Spa?

And also you should use the aggressive setups as there's way less understeer.

Alls I know is the game right now is broken there is no timetables there is hardly anybody in the servers it’s been about 3 weeks since the ps5 update still no patch please fix this soon

LOL, I waited for 1.8 for months, they created some video for it and then they offers some hot-stitched 1.7 version? Who cares? I want 1.8! :D

And Xbox version wiped all my data even for achievement stats.
